1. Hi guys...how did y'all make it through the holiday season? I ate just about anything (small portions) and gained 2lbs and I'm so down on myself now..I will be six months post op on the 19th and I was hoping to have lost more weight.
Highest weight December 2017 360
My surgery weight 348
Current is 250
Just wish I had lost more weight seeing that the loss is a lot slower now. Arrrgg feeling disappointed wondering if I work through my bad habits and if I will regain, since I seem to not have any restrictions and I feel hungry sometimes.

2. Wow! I was still on mostly purée. chicken can still be hard. I was allowed tiny bits of soft flaky fish. Like see bass or crab..... my dr was like liquids for a month: puréed for month 2: soft food month 3. Then tiny tiny bits for month 4. Can take 6 months for tummy to heal completely.
I think that maybe the average patient would be able to tollarate more. But my body is not ready for regular food ...not at all

3. I had bypass surgery July 19th and I have not been able to eat solid foods. My surgeon suggested I should be eating soft fish and even chicken by now. But I have tried several times and no matter how slow I eat I get the foamies and get a sick feeling. He has now recommended that I do another endoscopy said maybe by throat is too small. Idk what to think....how much and what are you guys eating 5 weeks out??

4. I am almost two weeks post op and regretting having bypass surgery. Fortunately, I haven’t had any complications thus far but I can’t help feeling like I made a mistake. I keep worrying about all the complications that can happen that I’m stressing myself out all the time. And, I no longer enjoy eating as it feels like a chore to chew 20 times and wait 60 seconds in between bites. I regret undergoing a surgery that is irreversible and comes with so many complications. I’m sorry if I’m coming across as b****ing, I’m just wondering if this feeling is common after surgery.
This is exactly how I feel.. i know persons can get depressed after surgery and I'm telling myself that this is also part of the process a s I'm just waiting for this feeling to pass.

5. Hi all, I’m four weeks post op, how much weigh are people losing in this time, just so I know I’m on track
Hello@denisheri I had my surgery July 19th I'm down 51lbs since bariatric surgery. My Sw was 348. I have been having a hard time. Eating solid foods. I was instructed by my surgeon and nutritionist to start eating normal foods at 4 weeks but it gets stuck no matter how slow I eat. I try to eat tuna, shrimp, salmon and they all have me foamy and nausea and vomiting. I just get so depressed and I hate to eat. I just prefer Soups and drinks. Even my Premier Protein gave me foamies once. I am really down a d can't even get excited about the weight loss. Trying to stay positive but I am sad.

6. I’m having a revision Thursday morning . My old lap band is being removed and revised to an rny. He’s like the top in his game but I did find it unusually wonderful that he is not requiring any kind of pre Op dieting or even a day of clear prior . In fact I can actually drink Water up until 3 hours prior . The only thing he mentioned after I received my approval was “hey eat low carb high protein” . I had that pre op weigh last week and had not gained and lost a few and nothing was mentioned . I’m only 215 but need this done for a slip and other health issues . Should I start a liquid diet for myself tomorrow just to kick start and make it easier? I had my band unfilled 3 months ago after ten years of barely eating and major weight loss. I ate a burger today like it was my last meal ever lol. I also had an Iron infusion so I’m feeling the yummy distress now . I just wonder if I should do liquid though he doesn’t require it f risk feeling weaker since I’m Profoundly anemic and symptomatic right now .
Hello sld21, I did my rny surgery in Columbia and my Dr. Did not require a liquid diet either. I was instructed to eat a light dinner (soup) and that's it. I had my surgery the next day at 12pm. I also thought it was strange but I realize in different parts of the world and different Doctors all have their own rules and way of doing things. Good luck.

7. @ lilybilly, are you continuing to heal well? So glad to have you back active on here.
Thank you for always checking up on me. Well yes I'm healing okay. However I'm easily fatigued. I'm still here is Cali Columbia recovering. I would go for walks or to the malls and I get tired quickly. I develop a dislike for eating. Just sick of the Soups. Oh and I got the foamy/ slime vomit after even drinking Water. Idk of that's a phase and it will pass but it sucks. I have lost 35lbs since surgery and 45 from my highest weight of 360lbs. I have good days and bad days, and I tell myself I needed this. I'm happy for the forums and the support I get and I cheer for everyone on their own journey.

8. I have been having the foamy/slime vomit thing happen to me. It's sucks. I at a vegetable omelette which I've had several times in two weeks. However today was not the day ...I started vomiting slime and was sick for like 4 hours ...I took a rest and decided to drink Water but even the water felt stuck and I started the slime all over again. I dnt know what I'm doing wrong.

9. So I haven't had surgery yet, so I am definitely not speaking from experience (SORRY!), but I wanted to share an article by one of my all-time favorite authors who had WLS this past January. She wrote a memoir about her body/weight a year or two ago and between that and this article I feel like so many of my feelings/thoughts/anxieties were echoed and processed in a really thoughtful way. Even on the pre-op diet it's been hard to separate out head hunger vs. physical hunger vs. the need to feel like I'm chewing something as well as the emotional part (feels stupid but there is a bit of mourning food that is happening for me).

10. @George. After hearing about the betrayal and pain you've been experiencing at home, it's emotionally stirring to see how big your heart is and how mindful you still are to the pain of others. Not only do you have a deep, abiding love for your child, but you also seem to have an endless capacity to love and care about others. Don't allow the people in your life who used to embrace you, harden your heart. It's easy to become bitter. Be strong. You are a good person. You deserve to be loved and cherished.[emoji4]
lilybilly I am six weeks post-op. My body is still trying to figure it all out, too. Our problems are different, but our struggle is the same. I keep repeating to myself what I've heard others say, "It'll get better, every day. Hang in there." The one thing I know for sure: I made the right choice to have this surgery. :1311_thumbsup_tone2:
Thank you. I will use that.

Yes your right.. I guess I am not sure what hunger feels like ...and I guess my whole life I would eat past the point of full. So it's all new to me belive it or not.
