Depression after gastric bypass surgery
emmapundt93 replied to emmapundt93's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you so much ! It will s definitely not an easy way out and much harder than I ever expected! I have been trying to eat a little more healthy carbs and more supplements and am feeling better. I need to work on getting my water and protein in on my days off, it’s easier at work when it’s all right in front of me in my lunch box. I love that you said WLS family ! That made me feel really good, I just now joined and wish I had this amazing support system the whole time [emoji7][emoji173]️ thank you for your wonderful message, I am really feeling so much better. I think the change with the surgery, diet, my boyfriend left me because he said I was losing weight to look good for other guys (he’s an idiot) things were really hard, but I really am feeling better. I love your guys! -
Depression after gastric bypass surgery

Thank you so much! I do feel better when I do things, like I finally got my house clean and have been working out. I was out of work for almost two months since I’m a correctional officer and I think that’s when my depression was the worst. It was bad the last few weeks but I got a sun lamp, have been taking all my vitamins plus a few and I am really feeling better. It’s weird like the doctors know what they are talking about haha, I really appreciate you taking the time to type this message! It’s nice having people who understand and are non judge mental [emoji7] -
Depression after gastric bypass surgery

Thank you for your response, with more vitamins and sleep the last couple days I’m feeling a lot better. I am going to try really hard with the fluids -
Take biotin and silica and eat a lot of protein. I neglected myself for a while after my surgery and didn’t eat or take my vitamins and my hair fell out like crazy but I’ve been taking. All my vitamins plus biotin, silica and it’s helping my hair fall out less, my nails used to be real flimsy and now they are growing pretty strong

Drink chicken broth with cayenne pepper helped me sooooo much! I was severely constipated after my surgery and that helped a lot

I had bypass in July and my pattern each month is gain two pounds for a week then lose ten. It’s just your body adjusting. You are eating so little calories there is no way you are gaining “fat” weight. You have to eat 3000 calories extra. You are doing good! Plus you are still probably really swollen, full of gas from the procedure and have fluids from the IVs so don’t worry !

Is this really going to work?!?!
emmapundt93 replied to NervouslyExcited's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey lady ! I am with you! I had my surgery in July and I am now just this lady few months getting my protein and water in. It’s a work in progress! You have made such a wonderful choice! The first couple months are going to be hard, I regretted the surgery from the start, but you will do better! The food being gross is good because it helps you break some bad habits. Don’t cheat, it will just cause you stress and anxiety and possible medical problems. But you will start to like food again. You aren’t supposed to be able to eat and drink enough in the beginning. This is a lifestyle change and things will get better I like the premier protein pre made chocolate shakes. They taste like hot chocolate if you microwave them for like a minute. I had my surgery July tenth, went back to work the end of August, (I’m a correctional officer) and am doing great now. I couldn’t see myself skinnier either but I was 275 before my surgery and now I am 195. Everything will be fine! You made a great decision! Message me if you have any questions! Good job!
