So off and on I have extreme pain in gut, in the center below the breasts bone. I am ok when I am sitting or laying down. When I stand or move I have a sharp pain. I was having diarrhea off and on, which i got from a trip to mexico, at least that’s what I thought. Have you had something similar? what was it? anything I can do, I can’t get to doctor for a while.

congratulations, It’s a big step in making the decision. It won’t be easy. It was a 6 month process from seminar to surgery.
Good Luck, and please thank your husband for his service and for both of your sacrifices.

I had surgery 4-27 and feeling pretty well, i don’t feel hungry but my stomach is growling frequently i don’t got to full liquids for another week and i seem to be able to take more than 2 ounces of Fluid. Was this normal when you were sipping could you drink more than the 4oz an hour that is suggested?

Liver echogenicity is mildly but diffusely increased. This can be seen with fatty infiltration of the liver.
my program doesn’t require liquid diet except 48 hours. not sure how this fatty liver will effect my rny. disappointed in myself

I was a salaried manager for over 25 years last being a director of food and beverage in a college dining setting and I cut my salary in half so I could get away from food, (also the long hours, no weekends or holidays off) it was killing me I would lose weight to get a new job get a new job and gain weight over and over again. When you are tempted and it's so easy to have what you are craving some of us are not strong enough to choose the healthy option day after day. That was my first step towards a healthier life and can't wait to have my surgery to help me even more.

I have my psych evaluation on 3/10 and last nut appointment on 3/12... insurance said it could take 3 days to 3 weeks to approve in patient taking longer. How long did it take for your approval how long of a wait for surgery date? I want to have it in April or at least by mid May is that realistic? I had a full abdominal radical hysterectomy last June I'm assuming that the pain will be similar, anyone have both and have pain comparisons? I wish I was more patient person

I was losing weight 42 pounds oct-December doing whole 30
Transition to Keto . On 1/17, I started the 3 month required Nut diet and since then, I have not lost or gained a pound in 3 weeks. Any tips or meal plans you had while you were on the 3/6 month diet before surgery. The biggest change is the increase of Protein and lowering of fat.
Nut diet is low carb, low fat, night protein
What I eat, nearly the same every day
I still have coffee but change to half caf
2 hard boiled eggs
1/2 cup of fruit apple or orange
Romaine salad with chicken, blue cheese lite balsamic dressing
Carrots
Adkins shake
100 calorie nut pack or 1oz of cashews
Mashed cauliflower with beef and center cut bacon crumbles with cheese
(Either a sf pudding, sf hot cocoa, or yogurt)
Sometimes an Adkins bar

I am just in the initial stages for pre op my surgeon appointment is on Tuesday but as I go grocery shopping I want to fill my fridge with the pre op diet foods, and have read most doctors diet pre surgery is Keto. I have been doing the whole30 and have lost 30 pounds in the past 3 months and can transition to keto if that's what I'm going to be put on, in my research I'm seeing that keto is listed as the worst diet of 2017 and whole 30 was right with it. My bariatric may require 3 months dietician, exercise and weight loss. My insurance doesn't, Just failed attempts and need. I'm curious about keto diet recommendations, how much weight are you suppose to lose before surgery? How many carbs do you eat to be in ketosis, how do deal with the side effects?
Thank you
