Spring 2018 Sleevers??? Looking for support, surgery buddies, advice, etc.! Lol.
Everyone's insurance is different. Mine took 5 weeks. But others take 2 weeks. I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks after the approval so I could do my preop liquid diet. It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

On full liquid diet.... what are you eating?
I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet. I'm not hungry. I feel full constantly. I just keep drinking the diluted cranberry juice and Premier Protein. I was only able to get half my ounces in today. I'll start earlier tomorrow. The mornings seem to be the hardest to start drinking. It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

Gas pains after surgery
I was sleeved on 4/30. So this is day 3. Tons of gas that has worked up into my shoulders and jaw. I walk at least every hour, usually every 30 minutes. I do fine with watered down juices, but the protein is hard! Just keep drinking past the discomfort of the gas. We can do this!

Emotions!
I wouldn't say relief. It is painful to cry. But I talked to my sister-in-law last night. She said she had the hormonal crying, too. Hers went away in a week or so. I have no buyers regrets. I cry at everything right now. Yes, I'm in a lot of pain since the only med I can take is children's Tylenol. But just crying out of the blue. I know now its normal. I'm just surprised that I've not seen it on the forums before.

Waking up after sugery
I had VSG 2 days ago. I don't remember from falling asleep in the OR to waking in my private room 6 hours later. I do remember the nurse telling me it's ok to sleep if my body needs it. 2 hours later I was up going pee and walking. Keep walking and figure out how much water to drink now. You will be home in no time. It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

C-section pain vs Sleeve pain?
Just had the sleeve Monday morning. I went in expecting recovery to be the same as the c-section, but it was way easier! Everyone was in awe of how well I was up and recovering in the hospital. If they only knew what it was like to have a c-section... It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

Emotions!
I've been all over this forum and can't find anything about how you feel emotionally after surgery. I felt great at the hospital. Now that I'm home, I feel like my hormones are out of whack! I cried when I asked my mother for some Mirilax. I cried when I asked the pharmacist to fill my prescription. It's crazy! Does anyone else have or has had these baby blues? It will all be worth it. Don't give up!

Spring 2018 Sleevers??? Looking for support, surgery buddies, advice, etc.! Lol.
Surgery was yesterday at 8:30 a.m. Fixed my hernia as well. I was up and walking and going pee by 6 last night. Feeling really good today. The nurses are wonderful. Getting discharged now. Should be leaving in an hour or so. I totally understand why it is so hard to from 1 ounce every 15 minutes. That's a challenge. But I can do it! Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

2 week liquid preop diet
So, I'm at the end of day 13 of my 14 day liquid diet. It wasn't easy for me at all! However, by day 9 it seemed manageable. But tonight was hard. Was way too hungry. Might have been nerves or something. So far I'm down 12.8 pounds. Not the 15-20 like I was told, but the nutritionist told me not to worry. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

Spring 2018 Sleevers??? Looking for support, surgery buddies, advice, etc.! Lol.
Thanks! I've done very well. Day 1 was fine. 2 was hard. 3 was better. 4 was brutal. Everything got easy for me on day 9 when the hunger pain went away. Of course, I'm hungry. But not like before and I don't feel the pain of it. I'm now on day 13 of 14. So close!! Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

2 week liquid preop diet
TMI alert: I pee all the time! It's so annoying. I'm drinking probably 100+ ounces of fluid a day. I try to hold it and go every hour, but today I had to go every 10 minutes. I felt pregnant again. How about you guys? Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

2 week liquid preop diet
I'm now on day 5. Not so bad now. Day 2 and 4 were the hardest so far. 4 was because I went to town to go shopping. When I'm out I would just eat out. This time I couldn't. But I'm at a restaurant right now for family dinner. No issues. I'm just drinking my protein drink and enjoying family. Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app

2 week liquid preop diet
How much is everyone losing on your preop liquid diet? I was told to expect to lose 15-20 pounds with majority being on the first week. I'm on day 5 of mine. I've been very honest, no cheating. Drinking much more than the required 64 oz. of water. I started at 269 (273 day before due to my last meal being Thai food). I'm 266 today. So weight loss of 3 pounds in 5 days seems a bit low.
