  1. I had rny in January and started around 410 and now it’s August and I’m sitting at 290, it has been easy, I suggest it to everyone I meet, the pro outway the cons 10 fold If your interested in hearing the pros pls ask, there are many
  2. I’m from the Syracuse areaSurgery 1/18
  3. I was in for 3 days, that was the minimum the hospital I went would allow, but they used my surgery as a study to show there is no need to go 3 days, I haven’t heard if the study has made any changes on the length or f stay yet or not.

  5. Share your mfp name if you have one , help each other out to track your progress and make friends
  6. It sounds like your doing ok, I was 411 when I started and am currently 325, my surgery was 1/22/18, it fell off fast in the first mont but has slowed down, about 3-5 lbs a week, I eat what I can but I know what you mean about hard decisions and making sure you get enough in, it’s tough, I think your doing fine, keep up the great work
  7. I know it’s different for guys but I measured myself when I started and I was afraid it wouldn’t come off either, my legs, neck, and arms did go first, but the stomach is coming along but doesn’t feel it, Neck- 20.5” now 19” Waist- 54” now 49.5” Belly button - 60” now 55” Chest- 56” now 53” Down 80 pounds, had rny 1/22
  8. I was scared too, but I knew that once I went into the hospital, nothing was stopping me, I went in, they get you at ease really quick, they wheel you back, you get strapped and you wake up feeling tired for 2-3 days, it really isn’t to bad. I know it’s easy to say but if I knew now what I knew then I would have never been scared, I also know no matter what others say your going to be scared. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and I hope , and am sure you will come out perfect!! Rny 1/22- no down 80 pounds!!
  9. Mine ended up costing me $3500 out of pocket and that’s 20%, and a couple small bills around 300-600, for small things like anesthesiologist and blood work The hospital sets up a payment plan if it’s needed, they seem cool to talk to about it, don’t be afraid to look into it
  10. It’s weird but I sleep well now after surgery and I’m having weird dreams and when I Dream they are very clear, better than real colors, super clear, does anyone else experience this?
  11. You can also Add an egg, some shredded parmesan cheese, spread it out on a pan and add pizza toppings too, or add garlic salt and cut it up like bread sticks
  12. So that explains why I about killed myself with the gas from eating sugar free jelly beans![emoji851]??
  13. Ugh I hated green peppers so bad b4 the surgery and now I love them, does anyone else like something now that you didn’t b4 or vice versa?
  14. What have you tried that gave you dumping syndrome?
  15. I haven’t tried oatmeal yet, but plan to this weekend, sounds good.
  16. 1 box sugar free pudding 2 cups skim milk 2 scoops 60g protein powder Mix chocolate protein powder with the milk and mix well then follow the directions for the instant sugar free pudding box I usually make this last 2 days so I get 60g protein each day I also eat scrambled eggs, usually 1/2 to 1 egg Broiled fish Chicken salad with light mayo Egg salad light mayo Lots of sugar free popsicles Fat free cheese sticks Natural apple sauce Organic 3 beans in can Cottage cheese But I only eat about 1/4 cup at a time
  17. Protein is very hard to get in for me as well, protein pudding has been the only way for me to get it down, I had the rny on Jan 22, I’ve lost 35 pounds already, welcome to the site
  18. I struggled with the protein shakes as well, I just made one box sugar free pudding with 2 scoops of chocolate protein 60g and skim milk, it went down better and tasted good as well
  19. Down 2 more pounds, everything is great, I got to see the doc today, he said it was ok to take the strips off my wounds, they look great, the nutritionist gave me great ideas for food so I’m excited, starting to get hunger pains finally so I know when to eat, everything is good!!
  20. Wow, that’s crazy, I hope everything works out for you, at least they found something that had to be taken care and of. I had the rny on the 22nd , 32 pounds down
  21. But I do have to clear it up, I miscalculated, I’m at 32 pounds down in 2 weeks, I started at 390 and am now 358, so that’s 32 not 42.
