  1. I wish I could eat 3 Oz of food. I swear one step forward three back. All I do is burp...can't even take my Protein or Water. 4 weeks post op. As soon as I feel like I have a handle on it, I get miserably sick. Now a new symptom horrible pain when I eat...gas pain so bad it has me rolling in pain...can't eat, is like a possessed ghostly stomach flu...I don't know any more. I am just tired of feeling sick.

Hi New to the thread but was sleeved 12/26. I’m averaging about 600 calories a day which is a little concerning to me, and I’m superrrrr tired all the time. I am taking my Vitamins and I’ve started taking Protein shots to meet (or at least come closer to) my Protein goals. They don’t taste great but it’s working well for me. I have trouble drinking more than a little or a time, and I’m very uncomfortable after about 5 bites of food.

    Starting weight: 267
    Surgery weight: 257
    Current weight: 239

I stopped my blood pressure medication while in the hospital, and I’ve never had to restart. Yay! Non-scale victories! My BP is now well within the normal range without any help from medication

I am also having troubles getting any protein at all in..was thinking about shots too..I can't hardly drink Water. After I eat anything I pay dearly. All my muscles hurt, and I am so tired. I can't get out of bed today. Surgery date 12/29

    12/29 - 250

    1/25- 226

  3. Surgery date was 12/29. Start weight 250. Now 227. So I have lost about 1 pound per day. Haven't been able to drink all the Protein required. Haven't been able to eat or drink much either. Made a HUGE mistake of drinking about half ounce of pepsi.... big huge mistake. Did it last night around 10 pm...now 7 am still miserable pain. Body achest and feel weak..I have to get my protein in another way.

  4. I only had 5 days liquid before my surgery, I really didn't have enough days to prepare myself. I guess is was best this way. Now I have no choice than to do as the doctor said, or pay a price. The rewards so far are beginning to out number the cost. I weigh myself every morning and as I see my body shedding those pounds that caused so much in and out side pain, keeps me going strong. Yes it's hasn't been an easy three weeks...but nothing good comes easy. I thank God for giving me the chance to have a new life. I am glad all of us want to be healthy to live a few more years to spend with our love ones, and wear that SEXY black dress! Lol!

    Pray, love and laugh!

  5. I wanted WINGS!!!!!

Is like we are alcoholics....and there alcohol EVERYWHERE and we can't drink it. The smells are amazing when we can't eat anymore of it. Honestly, we are addicted to carbs, candy sweets...and now we made a decision COLD TURKEY to not eat it again. I will never judge anyone with addictions again. It takes a great deal of strong will to stop eating the things we loved. Then again, our stomach is so small that we couldn't eat more then 2 oz at the time.lol....I am 3 weeks post surgery. I miss the wings..but I am going to try the Keto diet...all the bread free wings I can fit in three oz belly!!

  6. Hello ladies! OK so I had 6 babies, I am 48...I always carried my weight in the MIDDLE!!UGH!! No huge boobies no butt, my bottom has never been my problem. Just my extra set of hobbies in back..and bigger belly. I had my surgery on 12/29.

    Weigh in at 249

    5'3 1/2

    Today I weigh 231.

I feel like a melted candle..my belly starting to look as if it's drooping in top of my girl. (Hehe) will i get my skin removed? I am still debating. I don't heal well. I am scared of a staph infection. My incisions are still healing and they are NOT pretty. So even if you cut out the skin...we still have 5 or 6 scars in our bellies. 20180118_205627.thumb.jpg.ae244dade1725d7e2fa115ec188cfd48.jpg

  7. Omg! Me too!!!! The doctors saw me yesterday, did barium xray...he was there and saw his beautiful master piece. There is nothing wrong....he prescribed me Nexium. You will not belive how much better I have felt today. Just two doses. I do tend to eat strange foods....I just eat small Snacks, instead of a so call Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I make cornmeal malt o meal style with about I tablespoon of fat free Creamer, 1 cup Water, 1/2 tsp salt 2 packs equal. Simmer down to a smooth thick and creamy...hit's the spot. I only eat about two oz. Then about 30 min later an oz of Protein Premier banana or chocolate drink, and some water. Two hours later 1string cheese...1/2 container of sugar free Jello.

Today I ate wonton Soup and a half mush noodle..not the meat part. Then about 2 hours later another string cheese and a half oz of yogurt. And at night 6-7 jello, 1/2 cup mash potato with a bit of mayo and Parmesan cheese. Lots of sips of water thru out the day. I most 21 pounds since 12/29. Do not eat fast, do not eat too much and don't drink water while eating. That will make you burp and choke and vomit. Is like pushing too much too fast through a small funnel. Thathe is what made me miserable. The doctor also told me, not to worry if i dont get enough calories or the protein, just drink at least 40 oz of water. I hope that maybe helped !

  8. I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. I had my surgery on 12/29. I also am having some issues, I saw my doctor, and he attended my barium test. I have severe GERD. I was afraid to eat or drink anything, he put me on Nexium, it has helped a lot. Hopefully they will do some test on you to find out the issue. Maybe it's a stomach flu. Kids bring home uninvited guests from time to time.(viruses)

I truly hope they can find the issue soon. Keep us posted!

    Hope you feel better soon!

  9. Wow...you guys are brave...donuts? Tamales? Do ritos? Here is am trying to eat sugar free yogurt 😳Popsicles. I tried two bites of extremely moist meatloaf and was sick all night long. I can't even eat Tomato Soup. The acid of anything even a mashed boiled egg keeps me burping sour nasty burps. The only thing that went down smooth was a Protein Shake I made with bananas, Peanut Butter and fat free milk. I am planning on Keto dieting after I heal. If I can take it. Artificial sugars make me so nauseous. I am going nuts hungry and sick of Jello, broth AND YOGURT! 15 days post surgery. Lost 16 pounds

  10. Trust me there is a reason for that. I tried soft foods before it was due to, and omg! The awful feeling! Last night I was Sooooooo angry and so discouraged! I kept asking my husband- WHY DIDN'T I JUST STAYED FATTTT! I was happy and somewhat healthy! Then I came to, and realized something about me...I have been a spoiled brat that ate anything I wanted to and smoked and have never had to give this two things up. I never been a consistent or discipline myself. This is the first time EVER, I had to strictly follow rules or pay a price. I actually had to divorce food and cigarettes. Like I have to read the back of food to realize how awful they are for my family and I. It's so hard to just leap in this life changing surgery. I have to be patient with myself and take one day a the time. Took me 48 years to and now I did it and thankful that I can't change that. If I decide to cheat I will pay with vomiting, heartburn, pain and bloated.

  11. The good thing is...once it's done there is no going back! So far the best part is to see my 12 year old daughter not wanting to eat high carbs and wanting to loose weight along with her momma! I was so worried about her gaining so much weight...so not that I just did something to change my life to be healthy , but I am changing hers. So far this has been the absolute most precious gift towards my new life! I just wish I would have done this sooner. She's my diet buddy. It's not easy but it will be worth it.

  12. I had mine 12/29. So much information and meds is so overwhelming and confusing. The hunger is absolutely annoying. So much liquid is making me get heartburn and it comes up when I burp, which is all the time. The incision where the removed the stomach from is so tender and the gas still a big issue. Iam going stir crazy since can't work yet. I work for Hallmark and requires me to bend, stoop and lift which its not a good thing for my already inflamed sore stomach. So I have to vent..sorry. I am thankful that I made the choice of getting healthy. Start weight 248...now 236...1 week post op.

  13. Hello to all! Well, let me tell you about my experience. I turned in all my paperwork by 10/16...the surgery coordinator was not doing her job properly and by 12/4 I was curious why I haven't heard anything. I called the insurance company upset that I haven't heard of a date yet. They explained that the doctors office just sent the request on 12/2. I was devastated because as of 12/31/17...I was covered 100% by the insurance all my deductible and out of pocket expenses were met. For the fist time in 9 years I could actually afford this surgery. The feed back in recived was awful from the office. I was sooo upset that all this hard work, time and cost to visit the doctors for 6 months I was not going to have it done. Well by the mercy of my God and savior Jesus, I received a call from the doctors office on 12/22/17 to offer my surgery on 12/29/17. I had less then a week to prepared. It all happened so fast. I am now 1 week post op. Had a few rough days...but thank God I am on myour journey to a new life.

  14. So yeah, about cheating while recuperating...I think I will not do again. Oh my gosh! Let me share what I been going through. So I am only on day 7 post op. Gas and pain under left rib is horrible...every time I drink anything I have to make myself burp as its going down. Last night I made my son his favorite meal for his birthday, I thought since I am on solid liquids now I could put a bit in blender and eat it. NEVER AGAIN!

See folks, doctors give us specific guidelines for a reason. To go around this rules, there is a consequence to pay. I realized this last night. I will not do this again because the outcome of me eating what not supposed to and the harm I could have done to myself, is not worth the risk of leakage and getting an infection. So I will stick to the nasty Protein Shakes and Water. I made a choice to get healthy by getting this surgery and I promised to commit to the rules. I am in pain because of breaking the rules. 😣😣😣

  15. God forgive me, I must confess...I ate 2 Oz of Gerber chicken noodle Soup stage 2...add salt. It was more solid and 2 Oz filled me up. I was satisfied and very low carbs 25 calories. Man oh man...it was like a fillet mignon! Too much liquids are making me so nauseous. I can't drink anymore😣😥 I keep burping it up and comes up in my throat. The baby food was runny and mushy but a bit of heaviness that I couldn't get with Water. sugar free foods make me so nauseous. I am now 239. Had surgery 12/29. I was 250. So 11 pounds in 3 days that's awesome.

  16. I made my own version of Italian ice. Just added lemon juice ( the one already pre squeezed)water and ice cubes 3 packs of equal and put in my handy brand new SEXY blender...and VIOLA! fat free...only what ever calories are in three packets of equal. Has no pulp and taste more natural.

  17. I had my surgery 12/29/17. I noticed while walking the front of my legs felt heavy and numb like. I was walking around Walmart buying a blender and a scale. Lost 11 pounds so far! But I am sooooo hungry. Makes me angry..I drink Water and I start to burp and it hurts. Now I felt one of my incisions tugging and I noticed a watery pink yellowish Fluid sipping out. I have metal stitches. I am afraid that my body is rejecting the stitches. It has happen before. I am calling theme in the morning.
