Gosh - I think I've spent waaaay to many hours trying to figure out what vitamins and supplements I want to take. I really want to eat clean foods while healing and so many products on the market actually have a lot of inflammatory ingredients. So I think I have finally found the list of what I want to take and feel really good about what I'm consuming not only to heal, but to help modify my eating habits later.

Congrats! And welcome to August Buddies Yes, I had to go through all of that plus the 3 hour long pysch eval. I even had to do an EGD upper scope to make sure I didn't have any hernia issues. It was a lot of hoops to jump through, but it sure made me feel that my body was ready and healthy enough for the surgery.

Yes, with my BMI level and plan, I only have to do the 2 weeks pre-op diet and it consists of consuming 5 to 6 protein drinks per day. Each shake must fall within this range: 15 grams protein minimum, 5-15 grams carbohydrates, and to a max of 200 calories. 6 to 8 cups of water. I personally drink over 100 ounces of water a day so this is super easy for me. I am allowed an unlimited amount of SF jello, SF popsicles (not no sugar added), broth ( broth, bouillon, strained) and those can count towards my water intake. I have been testing several different shake recipes and am prepared to go onto the test liquid diet for one week. I wanted to lose 30 pounds before my surgery and I have "released" (trying not to use the lost because then my mind wants to find it) - so I have released 16 pounds so far. I'm hoping this will jump-start moving those last pounds prior. I will post here and tell you how the test is going

I was originally considering the sleeve, but my surgeon was concerned about the reflux so we opted for the bypass. I'm so sorry to hear you have to go in for a revision, but I sure hope it brings you some relief. I have a standard two week liquid pre-op diet, nothing special. But I'm modifying my Keto Chow protein to use almond milk instead of heavy cream during that time. Last night I made fluff for the very first time using the SF jello and greek yogurt - it was very good. So experimenting with recipes to see what I like/don't like cause I know I might too tired or need a family member to help

I am preparing and testing out recipes for once the liquid and post-op diet come in. I'm a big advocate of eating clean and not consuming items that can interfere with gut bacteria. Since the healing is so important and that environment is being so compromised. I have been working real close with my nutritionist to get that property types of vitamins and minerals, omegas, and liquid versions of calcium and magnesium. SO just doing a lot of research, food tests and prep as well as everyday meditating on a successful surgery and recovery. Trying to attack it from all aspects

I can't believe how fast time is flying! I created a countdown timer until my surgery and I often forget how many days are left. It won't be long until I'm 30 days out. I'm nervousxcited! But this week I finalize all my supplements, liquids, and support items so I can be prepared for any last minutes. I started EFT tapping on successful Pre-Op surgery to help relieve the jitters and to continue relearning my new relationship with food. I no longer want food to be the center of my life, just a part of it

That's soooo exciting to have access to those old patterns! Maybe I should start trying to collect some and treat myself to a custom made dress once I reach goals! What a fantastic idea!!

Welcome to August Buddies! Yes, I also have the nervouscited emotions going too. The only way I can keep it from getting to me is preparing everything! Foods, eating utensils, all my supplements. I'm beginning to feel more in charge and that I'm ready. Daily meditation and tapping has helped me a lot too 😊

Me too! I honestly beleive sometimes I was born in the wrong decade for fashion. I love the pencil skirts and hourglass framed dresses from the 40s, not how women were treated, but the style are amazing! There are shops in my little town that I would love to go in and buy stuff, but I have always been too big. I'm so excited about clothes shopping and watching my progress. I love cute summer dresses and I want so very much to not be ashamed of my bat wings and huge arms. Truly a non-scale victory for me when I get to wear the cute clothes again!

With my nutritionist's approval - I've started my breakfast and lunch with Keto Chow protein powder. So I'm slowly getting used to more liquid and less food. It's beginning to affect the food portions when I eat dinner, so I think that is a great plus!. I'm adding Orgain college peptides wot my water to make sure I'm getting enough protein prior to surgery as well. I'm down 14 pounds towards my 20lb goal before the surgery. So far so good

    August Surgery Buddies!

Fortunately, my insurance did not make me have to lose a ton of weight prior some like plans. But I'm working on losing as much as I can prior to the surgery with a low carb keto diet
  25. I'm two months out from surgery and I was thinking about doing some test trials with the liquid pre-op diet to see what works and what doesn't. Has anyone tried to do this and what were your results? Did it make it easier when it came time to do it for reals?
