  1. OK so my Dr says I'm def an exception but I walked the nurse's station in the hospital 5 times around about 3 hours after my surgery and continued to do that every couple hours until my release the next day. Once I was home, I began doing Leslie sansone 1 mile walks in front of my TV with a belly band and also doing some squats. I'm now 19 days out of surgery and running/walking 2 miles on the treadmill pretty much daily. My Dr did warn me not to do any core exercise and that makes perfect sense cause when I do use my core I can kinda feel a tight pull like my internal stitches are "pulling" just do what feels right for your body. I worked out a lot before my surgery and I started out low bmi so everybody's gonna be different

  2. Ive had the same experince, sleeved on 1/29 and I can eat full food now, albeit only teeny tiny amounts, I can tolerate just about anything as long as I chew it into a paste. I got up immediately after surgery and walked the ward 4-5 times each time. I also snuck ice chips and small sips of Water before my GI test and I was fine. I had my first post op appt today and my Dr was impressed that I'm already walking 2 miles and tolerating most foods. He encouraged me to introduce more foods but make sure I'm taking in mostly Protein and watch for white meat cuts as they may get stuck and irritate the stomach. Your most likely fine, the weight will come off as long as your portions are very small, but be glad your not one of those that has reflux or vomiting. I've lost 6 lbs as of today HW 288 SW 227 CW 221, good luck you'll be fine

  3. I just had my vsg yesterday 1/29 the pain was minimal, gas is pretty bad in my shoulders even though I got up and walked immediately. I'm already on stage 2 bariatric and just had applesauce and cottage cheese, couldn't eat more than 2 spoons and I got that full feeling, but doing well and ready to be discharged. Good luck you'll be just fine

  4. Jan 29 here, starting pre op diet Jan 17 and mentally preparing for a break up with my lifelong addiction. I look at it as a gift that I've been given the opportunity to live a healthy life and enjoy my family without the confines of my large body prison. Its time to let the real me out and live my best life. Best of luck let's keep in touch!

  5. Hi guys first time poster here. My vsg surgery is scheduled for 1/29 with Dr. Andrade in NY. Starting out at 218 lbs. I'm 5'7 and type II diabetic which is the only reason I'm qualifying for surgery. I've completed all my appts and am now ready for pre-op diet beginning 1/17. My biggest fear at this point is Hair loss because I already have extremely thin hair. Has anyone NOT experienced hair loss and if so, how did you prevent it? Thanks!
