  1. I packedmore than I needed. The only things I used were lip balm, phone, phone charger, soft bra and comfy open front sweater. I stayed in my hospital gown, used the hospital socks and they provided all the toiletries I needed. You're only there 1 night and in my case my mom had to carry around my stuff until she could see me post op. Like others, I also wore the same comfortable clothes home.

  2. Hi, all- getting sleeved Monday and couldn’t be more nervous. I keep thinking that I seriously can’t believe I’m going to walk into a hospital and voluntarily get most of my stomach taken out. I have worked for almost a year to get to the point when my surgery could be scheduled, and I’ve done all my research and really believe in what this surgery can do. It’s just now that it’s actually time I’m completely scared. I have two small kids, which makes it scarier for me. Anyone else feel this way?

    Surgery Date: January 8, 2018
    Sleeve Gastrectomy

I completely understand and felt the same way. Everyone kept asking me if I was excited and I wasn't really. But I knew I was making the right decision. My girls are 7 and 2 and the oldest is excited to have a mommy who can do more with her and be more active. I had my VSG on January 3 and already I feel better already. Very little pain, cooking for my family by the 5th and I couldn't be happier with the decision. You're giving your kids a better future with you and I wish you all the best tomorrow.

  3. I’m having gastric bypass on the 10th because I’m beyond nervous for the procedure. I’m so worried about complications during or having the surgery! I keep telling myself I have a child....what if something goes wrong! Does anyone else have these feelings? I desperately want my life back because I feel I’ve been stuck in a fat shell!

Hey Lindsay! I'm having my surgery today and I'm a bit nervous, too. I also have 2 small children. The biggest driver for me choosing to have the sleeve gastronomy done is my kids. I know that if I don't do something about my weight it will continue to restrict the activities I can do with them, cause more health issues and ultimately take knee away from them sooner than later. We're doing the right thing for us and our children and will be better moms for it in the end. Keep your head up, congrats on your decision and good luck!!!

  4. My surgery is finally here at 10:30 tomorrow am. I did really well with the pre op diet and followed it exactly, but I only lost 2lbs. Kind of worrisome that I can’t even lose weight on only Protein Shakes and a banana.

Mine is tomorrow at 1:30pm. I lost about 6-8 lbs depending on what time of day I get on the scale. We'll be just fine. Good luck tomorrow!!!
