  1. Well to give you guys an update, had to go to the ER yesterday cause I was vomiting uncontrolably. Haven’t had a bowel movement since before my surgery. The doctors order a CT and it seems my intestines are semi paralyzed. So I was admitted again. Haven’t had anything to drink since yesterday. Feeling hungry and grumpy but no pain. Don’t know when they are letting me go. At least I had a good night sleep since my surgery. Trying to stay positive but this has been really hard for me.

Hope you recover quickly. I got sleeved tjis Monday and when I got home, it was horrible. I couldn't keep nothing down. Srill no bowel movement but I don't feel bloated. I have to say today i feel a whole lot better than I did one the 2nd and 3rd day. PS i took a sip of mint tea. It helped settle my tummy. Keep us posted and feel better soon.

How can we make a support group happen? Truthfully, I’m on Facebook more than here— can we start a secret group where we can check in on each other? Anyone up for it? If so, I’d be happy to look into it.

Also, the head cravings are still so real. I took my DD to a birthday party today and the smell of pizza almost pushed me over the edge (and I’m not even a huge pizza person). But I just kept drinking my Protein Water and pushed through. Is it too early to have NSV?? 😂😂😂

I deactivated my Facebook for a bit but I do have an IG account for WLS account only if you or anyone else is interested. You can find me at just2bhappy166

On another note, you mentioned pizza. Well, let me share with you how I took my son with me to the mall and he wanted pizza. I sat across from him with nothing while he was eating his pizza and a garlic breadstick. It smelled soooooooooooo good lol.

By the way, yesterday night I caved in from my preop diet and have a hamburger. No bun, no Condiments but it was still out of the "what you can eat list." i decided to start fresh again and not beat myself up over it. Oh and I ate 3 triscuit crackers too. I was craving the crunch and the salt. However, compared to what I would normally eat, that wasn't bad. Today is Day 7 and I am focused.

1st day home from hospital and nothing beats sleeping in your own bed. Inspired by Taoz i made my own chicken stock. I have then made for next couple days vegetable Soup and pumpkin, carrot and ginger Soup. Heres a pic of my vege soup for may post op sleevers on liquid stage. Not a pretty colour but tastes great. Swirled some natural yoghurt through also20180506_102036.jpg

Glad you like the taste. We need some kind of taste so we can at least enjoy the little bit we can eat :-)

  4. I know how you feel I started my liquid diet on May 1st and it’s been hard. I’m consistently hungry and all I can think about is the food i want to eat. Lol But I’m keeping my head up because being healthy is going to feel better than any food i can indulge in. My surgery date is May 15th. Stay strong you got this!!!

We can and will do this. 🤗

  5. You are doing great! More than a diet this has been a learning experience for you. I’m happy for you that you are so self aware. I believe you will do well because you know where you went wrong. It’s impossible to stop bad habits if we’re unaware of them. Day 6 and we going strong [emoji123]

For some reason I can’t wait to get to day 7 Bc I think I’ll feel like I’m passed the F* this point [emoji28]

Thank you my dear. You are doing pretty amazing yourself. I remember when you first posted, you were struggling. Look at you now. I am so proud of you. OMG you said day 6 and here I am thinking it was day 5. Girl, we got this!!!! [emoji8]

  6. Wow you are doing great! Congrats! How do you feel? Do you feel lighter? I know the difference in your stamina must be from A to Z.

It definitely is not as painful to walk and I do feel more energetic. The only thing is I still do much outside the house besides work and my mani/pedi because I am still adjusting mentally. Besides this app and IG for WLS only, I deactivated all social media. I'm working really hard to focus on me and go at my pace. This is a huge change for me and need to stay focused.

  7. How is everyone doing? Today I’m feeling good. I do get tired a lot or maybe I’m just bored but I’m no longer miserable and that’s more than I could ask for. Also for once I felt full after drinking my shake and my Water, I had to sit still and really concentrate on what I was feeling to believe it. Full? Me? How? Lol but there I was satisfied. I think as the head hunger fades or becomes more manageable this becomes more doable. If I was feeling now how I felt the 1st two days I wouldn’t be on day 6 no way, I would have surrendered to those ribs I wanted so bad and a cold beer [emoji23]

Glad you are getting better at it. For me, this preop diet just validates that I ate for comfort not hunger. I actually feel more tempted now than the first few days but I'm not hungry. It's more out of habit. The great news is I am down 10 lbs.

  8. Sleeved Thursday night and just starting to feel human again. I’m still sore and have spasms that come and go. I slept pretty good last night. My husband has been here to help me which I’m so grateful for. Can’t imagine doing this without his help.

Glad you are feeling better. May I ask what kind of things your hubby helps you with? When I come home, my husband goes back to work. Should I be concerned of being alone?

  9. How is everyone else doing? Today was my best day so far. I really got the hang of this (knock on wood). I think I’ll be fine the next 7 days. Only thing I’ve noticed is that I find myself being bored or just with extra time and feeling very present. I guess I used to eat when I was bored and disappear to a diff dimension while doing so because now I’m like huh what did I do before [emoji23]

Yo-Yo Girl from New York City [emoji4]

That is exactly how I feel. Like I have nothing to do, I get bored, have extra time etc. and it just confirms how dysfunctional eating was for me. food was not meant to be my best friend but somehow it was. It didn't hit me until this preop diet.

  10. Hi everyone! My surgery is next week and I am about done with all my pre-op shopping. I have purchased:
    • 3 Different brands of Protein Powder: Delicious Dream French vanilla (24g), Aria Protein in chocolate, Vanilla (both 20g) and Vanilla Cupcake (10g Lower protein for a not so dense shake), and Isopure (25g) in 4 flavors, including unlfavored.
    • Premier Protein RTD (30g) in chocolate, caramel, vanilla, bananas & cream and strawberry.
    • Protein Waters: Protein20 (20g), Premier Protein Clear (15g), and Trimino (7g)
    • 2x Blender bottles
    • Multiple small plates (This was strongly recommended by multiple wls vets!)
    • Multiple small bowls
    • Milk of Magnesia
    • Colace
    • Bariatric Fusion Vitamins
    • calcium chews
    • Benefiber
    • Cheap slippers for in hospital stay (those socks suck)
    • Toilet seat riser (recommended by a soon-to-be sleeved friend on here)
    • Squatty Potty (I hear it works, so I figured why not!)
I didn't have to buy any shake/food equipment since I already had a food scale and the Ninja Inteli-sense system that has a blender/food processor/ spiralizer/ and some other random things (I have yet to use so not sure what they do haha)
And because I am neurotic, I've tested out dozens of recipes over the last few months and built up a little repitoire of bariatric-friendly recipes for me to try post-surgery for each different stage. I'll be making some homemade Bone Broth this week (Dad's a butcher so this comes out really really good!) as well as other quick meals for the first few days post surgery where I probably won't want to cook.
Now that I am reading over this I probably over prepared, but that's type of person I am.

    Awesome!!!! [emoji16]

  11. Hi they called me with a cancellation, so I started my pre-op liquid diet today! Surgery scheduled for May 15! Anyone have any pointers for liquid diet pre-op (woke so up hungry today lol)

All I can say is try and stay busy, drink lots of Water and check in here often. I'm on day 5 and that's what has worked for me

  12. My thoughts on the pre-op diet:
The good; Protein Water from Sam’s is yum!
Iconic Protein Drinks are super yum
Evol Fire grilled steak is awesome

The bad; Makes me think of food nonstop
    Tofu almost made me barf
Siggi’s yogurt is revolting, and I gagged on it
I’m jealous of the food I fix my boys
    I miss wine

The ugly; I wanted real food so bad I ate an entire cantaloupe

And the beauty is this will all be worth it when we have the results we have been wanting. It's tough. I'm on day 5 and want a real meal and some wine too [emoji16] PS my fav right now is premiere Protein chocolate and caramel.

They contacted me at the last minute to come in yesterday after having the authorization escalated. I ended up having surgery 5:30pm instead of 10am but I’m truly grateful. I’m in the hospital now having a lot of gas pain which is expected but the surgeon advised the surgery went beautifully. I’m so grateful to be part of this community and now I can officially say I’m part of the losers bench

Congratulations!!!! Lots of hugs your way. Glad it all went well and everything worked out.

This is going to sound weird and silly but I haven’t had anything to eat yet. My stomach hasn’t felt like it’s killing me and I’m kinda scared of having a shake and getting that feeling again of I need more and desperately wanting food. kinda like.. let me just leave my stomach alone while it’s not bothering me.

Yo-Yo Girl from New York City :)

Try to have your shakes at least. You need some Protein. Can't have you fainting missy.
