    Late December Sleevers?

2 weeks is way too early for rice, even well-chewed. The BRAT (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) diet they normally recommend when you can’t keep anything down doesn’t apply for now.

    Pizza

I’ve tolerated a square of plain cheese thin crust (think cracker crust) pizza from Domino’s, so it’s probably the case that the thinner the crust, the better. Which sucks for me, living in Chicago. When I tried a keto diet last year, my wife made pizza using scrambled eggs for a crust, THAT was tasty.

    Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017

My dietitian recommended I move to ground beef, turkey, and chicken (I was complaining about feeling hungry), so I had a plain Five Guys cheeseburger, no bun, for dinner. It didn’t sit right, but I kept it down ok and felt all right after a while. Then again, the protein shake didn’t sit right the first time I had one, so maybe it just takes time.

    Psychiatric Evaluation

It took me hours just to fill out all of their paperwork! I had an appt in the middle of the day and ended up having to come back later in the day to finish it! They never told me if I passed or not, but I had the surgery done last month, so...I guess I did.

    Switched to pureed too quickly.

I still get a little nauseous when I take my supplements, especially if I take the supplements and then pills. It passes quickly, though.

    Late December Sleevers?

Yes, mine was: Days 1 and 2 (day 1 was surgery day) - clear liquids Days 3-14 - full liquids Days 15 and 16 - pureed foods Days 17-28 - very soft foods Days 29-42 - soft foods Days 43+ - general diet I'm considering starting soft foods this weekend (should start on Wednesday the 17th) bc I've tolerated else I've tried and I'm starving eating only very soft foods.

    1000 cal/day 2 weeks out

I've only been tracking protein at this point, but my goal is 60-82 grams and that's about how many calories I take in in order to get to the top of that range.

Weight loss stall 3 weeks post- OP

The strangest thing happened yesterday, my fingers swelled to the point where my wedding ring wouldn't come off (and it was pretty loose prior to that). I have no idea what, if anything, I ate on Wednesday that would've had a lot of salt.

    Emotions All Over The Place

Are you treating the ADHD with meds? Luckily I could stay on Strattera after the surgery.
  10. Way to go! I was a 46 before the surgery, now I'm a 44, and those are too big (but 42s are too small). I saved an artifact from way back when I first started losing weight when I was at my peak, size 52 waist jeans. I hope to bring them to a support group meeting one day very soon.

Weight loss stall 3 weeks post- OP

I’m not sure about the accuracy of the body fat percentage readout on the scale. For starters, I have no idea how it’s calculated. Anyway, I’ve lost a pound since yesterday, so things may be back to normal.
  12. 3/4 c puréed vegetable lentil soup. Dinner was 4 sections of a Philadelphia roll and a Babybel.

    Popcorn 🍿

I ate 5-6 kernels of popcorn earlier today (the pre-popped kind that comes in a bag) and tolerated it fine, but I did chew each kernel at least 20 times.

    Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017

10 lbs max for the first 2 weeks, then 20 lbs max till 30 days after my surgery. I don't know what happens then.

Weight loss stall 3 weeks post- OP

My stall just started this morning! We'll see how long it lasts. If my Fitbit Alta is to be believed, my body fat percentage is going down, and I feel like I'm already ready for the next size down in jeans (already down one size since surgery), so there's that.

    Late December Sleevers?

Just go slow and you'll be fine. You know when your body is telling you too much is too much now.

    Alcohol

Never, according to my surgeon and nutritionist.

Side Effects of Gastric Sleeve Surgery?

Did your surgeon's office send you EMMI videos to watch? Did you watch those? Those will tell you all you need to know about possible side effects.

    Urgent.. Help with BCBS

"12 consecutive months of active engagement in weight related treatment" That's not 12 months of weight loss, that's 12 months of attempted weight loss. They really want to make sure you can't lose the weight on your own before they'll pay for your surgery. FWIW, I have BCBS of IL and only had to complete 2 months of supervised medical weight loss, and that was the surgeon's requirement, not BCBS'.

    Pre-op diet

It’ll get better but it still blows. Sorry.

    Gallbladder

Yes, I started mine on Friday and have to be on it for a total of 3 months. I have not noticed any side effects yet. So far it’s effective, as I don’t have gallstones.

  23. My guide says 2oz protein and 2 oz veggies, so 4 oz at a sitting. I ate 3/4 of a cup of soup today and it took about 45 mins to eat it. Takes about that long for me to eat a jar of baby food. Any faster and I get pain. I found a way to eat so little with each bite that I can constantly eat without any pain, which is less frustrating. I say if you can guzzle water with no pain, guzzle it. I cannot. I feel like each week I can take one more swallow at a time without pain, but I can only take about 3 sips at a time now.

    Late December Sleevers?

Oh interesting. I assumed the issue was the consistency.

    Popcorn 🍿

My post-bariatric surgery cookbook has recipes with corn in them, which surprised me.
