To the OP, sorry for barging in here, but I've seen it all. My husband has an 8 incher when he weighs 200lbs, and about -2 inches at 300lbs. (And I don't mean 6 inches, I mean it has retracted into the abdomen, leaving just a little hole visible).
I'm sure you will be quite pleased when the scale starts moving.
That some scary sh*t!

It’s not healthy to be in a relationship with numbers! To start its a way of measuring success BMI and lbs, but when you get to where you are happy and healthy, ask yourself what your goal is realistically.you can lose to much and be unhealthy, not enough and your still overweight and that’s not what your after either. Numbers are just that. Might work if everybody was the same body type and height, but not worth a **** in real life. I’m shooting for 315 lbs looked damn good there 18 years ago. As soon as I’m there I’ll probably find that I’m not even close, thanks to Father Time ,cable tv,marriage and Taco Bell! And readjust my goal to match my correct body image. Sorry if I went off on a tangent.

Not going to tell anyone except my wife and doctors I see. Not even my kids need to know. May change over time.

I’m liking all the comments on this thread! I started my weight loss off at 6’6” 485 pounds. At dr 1st consult I was 435. Gained back 10 lbs but will have it off long before my 6 week pre op Appt in January. Surgery for feb 14 17. It does take the edge off a bit reading where you guys have been threw all of it. Thanks
