  1. How are you doing ? I had mines Jan 9 . Im feeling great not to many complications

I’m still having a lot of pain when I stand up or sit down. Trying lay down is very painful. It feels like I’m having horrible stomach muscles pains. I feel like the pain is getting lesser everyday. I did have a blood clot scare but it was negative. How are you feeling?

  2. I'm feeling absolutely fine today. I have been up and walking around regularly since 2 hours after my op. They gave me dispersable paracetamol around 9pm. Offered me tramadol but I really don't need it so I've refused so far. I'm sipping Water happily but still on a drip. The general anaesthetic was the only horrible bit for me so far. I took an asthma attack when I went under but thankfully I am in good hands and they've looked after me wonderfully. I'm waiting to be waterproofed up so I can shower now. Want to look my best for my visitors later xx

Which procedure did you have done?

  3. Lyndsay, if you need relief they should have given you a script for pain. If you're not in the hospital otherwise ask! I noticed the second night I had to breakdown and take pain meds.

Is finally home today and I will as sent home with liquid pain meds! I’m still so sore! I never expected to have this much pain but it will be worth it in the end!

  4. Still early out for me (day 5 Post) — but trying to think ahead a bit. I really want to avoid the saggy skin if I can so wondering what folks did for exercise and how long did you wait? Obv I’ll wait til after two week appt and ask Dr . I want to try boxing...

I'm scheduled for surgery on the 10th. How are you feeling post op?

  5. I was in for one night too, but I had sleeve. My surgeon requires two nights for bypass. I would ask your surgeon. Good luck, you are on your way.

Thanks! They told me two nights typically, and the insurance company said the doctor just needs to send over paperwork as to why a second night is required.

  6. That is so nice of you to say. Thank you and I will also be thinking of you and all of the rest of us going tomorrow! We can do this! I hope they give me something to relax as soon as I get there- can’t believe this is finally happening!!!!

    Surgery Date: January 8, 2018
    Sleeve Gastrectomy

Prayers for all of you! I'm having surgery on the 10th but getting gastric bypass.

  7. I wish my insurance would pay, but at least there were no hoops for me to jump through being private pay. I decided in December to have surgery and it was booked the same day I asked, and now surgery is today. It's scary how easy it was but I am very confident in my surgeons skills, and I know I need this to be healthy. In hindsight I almost wish I had those hoops to jump through because I'm kind of regretting not being more prepared for it. I'm a "fly by the seat of your pants" kind of person apparently.

    How did your surgery go?

  8. Hey Lindsay! I'm having my surgery today and I'm a bit nervous, too. I also have 2 small children. The biggest driver for me choosing to have the sleeve gastronomy done is my kids. I know that if I don't do something about my weight it will continue to restrict the activities I can do with them, cause more health issues and ultimately take knee away from them sooner than later. We're doing the right thing for us and our children and will be better moms for it in the end. Keep your head up, congrats on your decision and good luck!!!

    Hey Tiff,

Thanks so much! My daughter is 11 and I want to be happy with myself and enjoy activities with her! Thank you for sharing best of luck with you Surgery!

  9. I’m having gastric bypass on the 10th because I’m beyond nervous for the procedure. I’m so worried about complications during or having the surgery! I keep telling myself I have a child....what if something goes wrong! Does anyone else have these feelings? I desperately want my life back because I feel I’ve been stuck in a fat shell!
