Oh WOW! I can't believe you even wanted to try meat. I didn't attempt any type of meat for almost a year as it still to this day (8 years later) does that exact same thing to me. I know this pain all too well and still experience it if I try to eat more than a bite or 2 of meat. I was on Protein as well for the 1st year, but mainly in the form of shakes or puree. The pain is just not worth it to even attempt to eat it anymore. I'm sorry you went through this and I would love to tell you that it's over, but more than likely, you will have this throughout your life with "hard to digest" foods. Mostly meats and heavy carbs. I don't touch bread, Pasta or anything like that because when it becomes "stuck" I feel like I'm gonna die.

Not making judgements about anyone's choices....just throwing some information out there.

OK guys!!!! I started Keto 2 weeks ago and would love to have a forum of just Fellow Ketoers!! We can trade recipes, stories, question, concerns etc. Keto stuff is all over the internet...but nothing about doing it after WLS. I use My Fitness Pal to track all food/drink, calories, carbs, fats. I currently stay until 12g carbs per day, 60g Proteinand 27g fat. I use Ketostix every morning to make sure I stay in Ketosis ( usually a 4) but I don't feel I'm losing quick enough.
What is your experience so far with Keto and your daily intake of foods?
It's just so hard for me to get in enough calories and Protein.

So is this "bread" baked or eaten raw? Don't see anywhere in the instructions listed to bake it.

So since February, I have tried many different types (meal replacements, whey, vegan), and it always ends with me feeling super drowsy. For the first month or two, sometimes I would actually need to have a nap right after my shake. Ten months later, I can stay awake, but I feel very lethargic and just sit there, like a lump! lol When I'm at work, perhaps it is because I am distracted, but I can still somewhat function. But at home, I just sit on my couch, and can't move for half an hour or so.
TMI: And often, I would have to go to the bathroom after having a shake, or at least I feel like I do...
I need to do some more testing, but I had tested my blood pressure, and it was pretty low after I had my shake (usually it's excellent).
Has anyone else experienced this?
I am 8 years Post-Op and I get extremely tired anytime I eat Protein. I have never done the shakes because none of them agreed with me. I simply don't know what causes this and I have just gotten used to it at this point. I get my protein from veggies now as I have never been able to handle any type of meat without it getting stuck and causing extreme pain. It is just now worth the pain. I have had every scan and test to see if there was a blockage but nothing shows up. Baffling...

Can someone please tell me how I am suppose to be calculating my carbs? I know all the basics, use the MyFitnessPal app to track my calories, nutrients, etc and I am sticking to the Normal recommendation of but how can I already have 15g of Carbs from one healthy salad and dressing only containing the ingredients of what I'm suppose to have???
25g of Total Net Carbs--- Fat: 96g ---- Protein:72g
So, Here is what my tracker has for the only meal I had yesterday and it just doesn't seem accurate to me. Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

No, I don't have any loose skin, thank goodness. I did not have any type of corrective surgery after my bypass. Just ate like I was suppose to and tried to stay active. My BS said that it all depends on how long your skin had been stretched out while being fat before surgery and your age. I was 36 when i had my surgery and had been overweight for roughly 8 years but I never had a belly or folds. Carried my weight in my boobs and my hips.

"Normal" when naked?? What constitutes "normal" nowadays?? Many naysayers still give us WLS people a hard time saying we took the "easy way out". We all know it is anything but easy. With hard work, dedication and a positive mindset, these ladies will acheive what they set out to do. I have faith in them.

Dear ladies, I am 8 years post op and I hate to tell you that while Yes, eating may not be enjoyable now but you know what will be??? That day when you look in the mirror at your new, thin, sexy body and realize that the "comfort/satisfaction you once felt from food, is what ultimately made you fat in the first place. Remember that old saying, "Nothing tastes as good as being thin.."?? Well, you just wait my pretty ladies...you soon will enjoy that feeling and forget that miserable obession with how food USED to make you feel. I learned very early after my surgery that I would never be able to enjoy or indulge in foods the way I used too, so I had to change the way they were intertwined in my new life. I became a Chef!!! I could still get all the tactile satisfaction from shopping for it, prepping it, cooking it etc...but I knew that I would never be able to eat in the amounts I once could. I just had to alter my relationship with food. It's still in my life, always will be but in a more positive, healthy and satisfying manner. Right now and probably for the first year or two....your brain is still rewiring to why it isn't getting it's fix the way it used to but...it will pass. I promise and you'll love the feeling that your new body gives you. It's truly a rebirth! Trust in the process.

Dash makes a very nice, small 1-2 person air fryer. You can find it on Amazon or even HSN. I went with the Cook Essentials 3.4 qt and love it very much. I love air frying my Kale chips, sweet potato chips, souffles, wings and even my bacon. Plus, it doesn't use nearly as much energy as stove or oven, so it is more efficient on the ol' electric bill per month!

The only thing that has ever caused me to "dump" was sugar in the form of candy, cakes, ice cream and crap. Things I rarely ate even before surgery. What is your definition of "dumping"?? Could it be youre not getting the "stuck/pain" feeling after consuming a larger amount, say a pork chop or steak?

I would love to swim and do so every weekend in the summer because we have a summer house on the river, However, there are no places around me that have any type of indoor swimming during the off months. I live in a very small town in West Virginia.

I think I am going to try the Keto lifestyle. Seems easy enough and way more food choices than I could ever consume. But I didn't come this far to slip back into being fat!
Food List for a CARB Free lifestyle.
Thoughts from anyone who's done this with sucess...??

I have never even heard of this. I have always sipped with my meals, simply because it keeps my food from getting stuck! I have never had an issue with it.
