  1. I'd forget the shakes and just concentrate on ditching any snacky treats--carby, processed junk. And I'd eat Protein first very dense protein, plus your fill of low glycemic veggies, healthy fats, and maybe a few berries now and then to break monotony if it rises up. ((hugs)) You did splendidly. Congrats on losing while brewing a healthy kid!!!
Thank you! This certainly was not my plan but it worked out, thankfully with the help and close monitoring of my healthcare team! Your advice sounds good, honestly if I never drank another shake in my life Id be a happy girl.Thank you for your input.

  2. So as the title states I became pregnant directly after my sleeve operation due to birth control failure. I just delived an healthy baby girl ( thank goodness)9 mos and 1 week post VSG. I took a break from all boards during my pregnancy as I needed to focus on having a healthy pregnancy vs weightloss.

I have lost 75lbs thus far and have about 30lbs to goal. I am so ready to focus on my goal and get back on track. Although I lost weight all thru my pregnancy I was encouraged to have a higher carb intake and now find myself craving them everyday. I am thinking a few days of shakes may help me detox these carbs and get focus on the high protien low carb diet my body needs to make it to goal! Looking forward to getting to know some other folks on this journey.

  3. Have you tried switching to lactose free milk? I was lactose intolerant prior so surgery so nothing changed for me in that regard. I usually stick to lactose free skim milk and use almond milk now and then. In a shake you really can't taste a difference with the almond milk. Plus it tends to be lower in calories/carbs than regular milk.

Does the upset feeling only come after eating/drinking? Or at least made worse or all the same through the day?

It seems to be there the majority of the time. I am in the process of eliminating all dairy as it seems to be a trigger or at least make it worse. Im also finding that suger in any amount seems to be an issue. I have a call into the surgeons office to see of they have any thoughts regarding these symptoms. Unfortunately they are not really great about follow up so may have to go the route of my PCP. Thank uou all for the responses.

  4. Im about 2 months post sleeve 12/12. I had a good recovery and have been on an as tolerated diet since 5 weeks. I have lost 50 lbs including the preop diet. Latley ( past 1.5 weeks) my stomach is constantly upset feels like its churning. I also wake up at night due to the sick feeling. Otherwise I have no other issues. I have been taking my omeprazole as prescribed daily. I find that I can no longer tolerate dairy well and the protien shakes are making me feel nauseated. Has anyone else struggled with this? Any suggestions as to how to proceed as I feel that I am currently under eating and I do not want to damage my metabolism.

  5. I also had surgery 4 weeks ago and have lost 19 lbs. I noticed the weightloss slow down the 3rd and 4th week. Im guessing its just my body reacting to all the changes. As long as your protien and calories are on point, weight loss should resume. I also started exercising last week to help my metabolism along! Good luck.
