  1. I know it's been a given to know you'll lose some hair after this surgery. However, is there anyone that uses anything on their hair to prevent from falling? I am taking bition, d3, B12, Multivitamin, n Vitamin C. Today I started prenatal gummies. I also wash my hair with Biotin n collagen Shampoo n conditioner. I am not drinking all my Proteins but I am eating my proteins, maybe not enough.

With that being said, is there anything besides the Vitamins n the proteins, what can i use on my hair, any treatment, deep conditioner?

    Thank you

  2. I drink with a straw against my NUTs advice ( causes gas because of it, which was not a good enough reason for me to abstain, and i don't get gas)
It's the only way I drink cold liquids

That was my concern the gasses. I can drink Water better and can keep measure of what I'm drinking. Lol. I needed a pretty water bottle to keep me motivated. Call me weird but I like the water bottles.

  3. I do still drink a Protein Shake for Breakfast every day...and meet my 80 G Protein ... I’m doing all of that...and it just keeps thinning

Interesting. Even taking Vitamins? It's amazing how everyone is different with this surgery, what works for one may not work for the other. I also bought Biotin n collagen Shampoo conditioner. I'm trying it all. Hopefully something works for you.

  4. Your right. surgery is not for everyone.

It's true the surgery is not for everyone. However, u can enjoy the foods later on. It's a head start to lose weight but it's up to you to continue maintaining it. I'm not going to lie, I did regret it bcuz I would see ppl eat, smell yummy food, and I was here not eating. I cried. I'm 3 months post op tomorrow and I'm doing great. I'm seeing the weight drop, I'm eating a lil more, and I'm self conscious of what I'm eating now. It's hard the first 3 weeks as far as not eating n the discomfort of the incisions. It's not a horrible pain like c-section or any other major surgery. Anymore questions don't hesitate to ask.

  5. It's normal to be eating a little more. I'll be 3 months out on the 21st.
I can eat between 4 and 8 oz depending on the food type. Softer foods I can eat 8oz. Solid protien like any type of meat I can only do about 4 oz.

I'm down 60lbs but at a stall right now. It's frustrating but I know it's all part of the process.

Me too. I really get full with meats and end up eating again after 30 min or so. I try my best to drink my Protein Shakes but I rather eat my Protein. Lol.

I just want to make sure I'm not stretching out my stomach. I want to know how it can happen. Like obviously by eating but is it when you ignore the weird pain n continue eating? Or how does your stomach stretch? Get me? Lol

  6. Hi Creek Imp et all. Its me,Princess of the PreSurg, omeprazole does nothing for me me so I'm on Dexilant. Really think you should take the tummy medicine, sure maybe you don't think you'll have acid issues but are you all back to full foods? It could still rear its ugly head before the 3 months are up.

I'm back to solids. So far everything is ok besides anything heavy like chicken or meat it sorta feels like it scratches my throat. Hopefully that is over quick. Feel like I can't enjoy it much. I think I'm fine but I wanted to hear everyone else's experience.

  7. I had a hernia repair at the same time as surgery. I was given omeprazole and only took it once z day. I have not had any heartburn at all. I’m also curious if this is something I need to continue taking. I thought long term it could cause issues. I’m interested in what answers you get.

I haven't had any issues with heart burn, that's my reason for not taking it. I'll continue reading from others reply. Thanks for your reply. [emoji5]

  8. I've done better this week with snacking. I strongly believe it's that menstrual cycle that kicked in. Cuz I'm no longer wanting it and drinking my Protein Shakes, Water n being conscious of what I'm putting in my mouth. Thanks everyone for your support. Taking the time to read my long blog n replying. Thanks again!

  9. We can go through stalls occasionally but you I think you should evaluate your eating habits. I would recommend you journal every bite of food you eat. If you eat 4 cheetohs, 5 pita chips and a couple handfuls of popcorn then write it down. You maybe surprised at how many extra calories you are eating. If these Snacks are too much temptation then find different Snacks for your kids that don’t tempt you. I think the hardest part of our weight loss journey is the head game. We need to redefine our relationship with food and for some of us it may mean counseling to help us deal with our food issues. Best wishes for your success.

Thank you. I hope bcuz I'm getting better at eating and keeping my food down its not a close case of me losing weight. I know some people still have issues eating and they're at their 2nd or 3rd year. I'm up to my 2month and I can eat without a problem. And yes, after these bags are done, no more of these snacks. I even bought "light" to make it fair. Lol! Thanks again

  10. Congrats on your weight loss! I'm going on to my second month. My question is, when u started eating solids, did u gain or stop losing weight? I'm on to my second month on Jan 20th but I feel that I have stopped losing weight bcuz I don't have a problem eating. Besides me getting full quick, I can still have chicken, meat, some mash potato, but obviously not over do it. I know some ppl can even have that, they have a hard time keeping it down. I heard the first 6 months you'll lose the most but I'm afraid I reached my limit. Did this happen to u, if so at what month?

  11. Hi all. I'm Shay. I was operated on Nov 20th. I was 288 pre op, the day of surgery I was 280. Take into consideration I was only given TWO DAYS to begin my liquid diet, it was death. Prior to that I was just told to lose 10 lbs but never was told how crazy this liquid diet would be. Anywho, now that I'm almost at 2 months I've been eating solids, no more then 4 Oz. I can't eat all of my 6oz that I am permitted to eat now. I have gone down - 43 lbs. I'm down to 245 but I haven't gone down since I had my NUT appt on Dec 29th. I eat healthy or better choices of food but I snack horrible! I have 2 kids so they ask for cheetos, popcorn, and pita chips which means I have that at home. Obviously I can't have a cup or the entire bag but I do munch here and there. In addition, I have craved a sandwich with ham n cheese. To satisfy that craving I have eaten a roll up of honey turkey and munster cheese/2% cheese by itself or with 2saltine crackers. I still don't eat bread or rice.

I'm wondering if it's bcuz it's the time of month that I haven't lost weight. Or if it's bcuz I'm eating solids now and eating those horrible Snacks. Or I will no longer lose weight.

Has anyone gone thru this in their 2nd post op month? Like it's been hard bcuz it was 3weeks without eating- liquid diet, then puree and soft foods, and now solids. Depriving myself from food seemed to be bad too me. It's like starting a diet with either fasting, liquid diet, or herbal life diet, etc., the moment you ate you would gain the weight back bcuz you was depriving yourself from foods. I feel that I was deprived from what I liked and now that I can eat a lil of solids I'm over doing it. The doc said you would feel less hungry but I still feel hungry. It's all mentally and blah blah but my stomach does growl and that's when I munch. I do have my 3 meals and try my best to intake my 70 grams of Protein and my Water. Yet, it's hard to drink all this water bcuz there's not enough time in a day! Lol.

Has anyone gone thru this? Please help with any advise or your experiences too. Thank you

  12. I was the same way, regretting this surgery. Thought about the minor pains I was in, not being able to help when my kids were sick, not eating what my family was eating, not drinking my Water fast cuz I was so thirsty, etc. However, it's getting better so hang on. I'm up to solids and still have issues eating but it's just a matter of time. Now I'm thinking, am I eating too much, why am I not losing weight, how much more can we restrict ourself? Just hang in there, you'll be better in no time. :)

  13. Hey! I started solids in the new years. It was still hard to keep it down but it's getting 'easier' to eat more solids. However, I am noticing that I'm not gaining but I haven't lost. Then again, it's that time of month so that can also play a big part. I can't eat more then 4 Oz (the NUT said it's ok to eat 6 Oz now) but I am munching on horrible Snacks. I eat healthy but my snacking is bad. So maybe that can be another trigger for me not losing weight. I was also scared that by depriving ourselves so much, no eating for almost 3weeks (liquids) that by the time I ate solids I would gain. I'll start the gym next week so I can get started on the toning. I know I wasn't much help but you posted exactly what I wanted to ask. Maybe someone else can help us too.

  14. I'm 2 weeks post op on my vsg surgery. As Im watching TV all I see is food and I'm just devouring it in my thoughts! Is anyone going thru this?! I have cheated and maybe I should have not gotten this surgery bcuz I've already failed! I've had like 3 pieces of chips, drinking my Soup with chicken and a lil potatoes. However, I didn't over do it. It's just to taste. Is have lost 21 lbs since my surgery date on 11/20/17 but still afraid that I'm not going to lose as much bcuz of these hunger craves. I feel that I am depriving myself now and when that day comes of eating "anything" I will fail again! As much as I drink my Protein (which is hard to get them 70g in) and my Water and my puree/soft foods, I don't wanna gain weight or stop losing weight. I have heard that 6 months is the tops to stop losing weight. Is there anyone going thru this that can share any thoughts with me?

    Thank you!
