  1. Congratulations sweetie! Keep on sipping and walking. Sending healing thoughts xx
  2. Nope I've never done this and it sounds like a pretty bad habit so I don't fancy it. I'd rather train myself to eat healthy food and enjoy it than develop another problem.
  3. 3-4 protein shakes a day with min 64 oz water for a month with vitamin and mineral supplements x
  4. So I'm the Manager of Medical Microbiology in a region of the UK. I am interested in moving over to the USA. Can anyone give advice about the governing bodies there? In the UK i'm HCPC and IBMS accredited. I have my MSc and additional Specialist and Managerial qualifications so I'm sure I have plenty transferable skills. Is there a central site to search for jobs or do I have to look state by state or even hospital by hospital? Is there anywhere you think Scottish people would be welcome or better staying away from? Thanks in advance for your advice. X
  5. Look at it the way I look at my 2 stretchmarks on my belly. I got them through my pregnancies and they're my skin's diary documenting the two best things that ever happened to me. This is one of the most significant points of your life. Look at your dimpled tummy and learn to smile because it symbolises the amazing changes you've made and how far you've come. X
  6. I gets better with each passing day. Hugs x
  7. I force myself to take 30 mins to eat no matter what it is and keep my eye on the clock. Take TINY spoonfuls, chew each 20 times - even if there's little texture (I'm on puree/soft at the moment) and put the spoon down for at least 30 seconds between bites. I'm hoping I will rely less on the clock when it becomes habit xx
  8. @jess9395 that sounds good too - will just have to see what I feel is needed at the time. My tummy, boobs and upper arms are definites. Not sure any amount of exercise could sort them out x
  9. I don't think carbs agree with me. The only time I lose weight is if I keep them to a minimum and I get tummy pain if I have simple sugars. I'm planning on sticking with low carb, low fat recipes in the longterm x
  10. Yep - we're pretty similar. I had my op on 12th Jan and have lost a similar amount to you x
  11. Well done!!! I can't wait til it's my turn lol! xx
  12. thanks! that sounds good. I might couple that with a brachioplasty and some new boobs.... bet its gonna be pricey though
  13. Can I ask what is included in a body lift? I am at the start of my weightloss journey but am already saving for the tidy up operation at the end. Wondering if this body lift thing could be the answer to my prayers! x
  14. Yes - I was sore lying on my left or on my tummy until quite recently and i'm 4 weeks out hun. I think it just takes time for healing to occur x
  15. Yes I think that sounds pretty reasonable. I'm 4 weeks out and eating 3oz protein meals so by 7/8 weeks you sound about right x
  16. Good luck hun. I was 292, went to 270 with preop and got RNY on 12th Jan. I'm at 238 now You can do this xx
  17. Does anyone have any experience of vitamin patches? I'm struggling to believe their efficacy as some of the vitamins have very large molecular structures. As skin as inherently non-permeable, I don't see how they can enter through a patch on the skin. I may be totally wrong on this. I'd like to hear what you guys think or have found?
  18. Make sure you're getting enough iron. Bruising easily can be a symptom of anaemia. X
  19. A lot of folks get brachioplasty when their weight has stabilised x
  20. Thanks @Tyson4834. I've went back to full liquids and feel fine now. I'm keeping water and protein shakes down with no problems so I'm going to do pureed food tomorrow in the hope that I'll be ready for soft food next week. I was pretty scared tbh! The doc says if it happens again, he would want to check me out for a stricture so keeping my fingers crossed that it's not that and instead, I've just got a temperamental tummy xx
  21. Ugh sounds like you're having a difficult time. I'm so sorry. I experienced "the foamies" for the first time the other night and it was awful. They suggested I might have a stricture developing but I'm still hopeful it's just that my tummy wasn't quite ready for fish and needs more time so I've went back to full liquids. If you aren't keeping fluids down, have they done an endoscopy to see if you have developed a stricture? If you have, please try not to worry, they can dilate it in a simple procedure so you don't experience these symptoms. Much love x
  22. I had 2 food funerals before I started my preop diet. I had a dominoes pepperoni pizza with cheese stuffed crust and garlic and herb dip. The next night I had a rare steak in blue cheese sauce with seasonal veg, mashed potato with butter and onion rings followed by crème brulee with shortbread biscuit. I absolutely don't regret it. I enjoyed every mouthful and I know I will not be able to have these things again - certainly not in the quantities or the fat/sugar levels I had before.
  23. My boobs seem to be the first bit of me to shrink. It's super depressing. Right now I have boobs with no va-va-voom and a big fat belly!!! Think ginger Santa Claus! Ugh! Hope the rest of me catches up soon!
  24. Hi @BlueGirl1920 I felt the same until I tried to eat something that made me feel like crap last night. I know they did the surgery now for sure lol! Puree/soft food ages a if difference as the liquids just run trough xx
