  1. Part of the sex drive thing has to be losing some weight and being a little more comfortable in my skin, feeling the fitness benefits of my exercise routine on my energy and stamina...but yeah, I think hormones have played in, too:) Easy cardio. Bahahaha!
  2. I know I shouldn't be....but I was really surprised about the hormonal diet sabotages your body generates when you're low on Zzzz's. I figured cortisol...and God knows cortisol is a pain...but putting together all the little behavior things that add up to a bad diet day....was kinda eye opening. Pays to get a good night's rest!
  3. Lookin good, Handsome! Great work:)
  4. This is worth reading:) https://www.webmd.com/diet/sleep-and-weight-loss#1
  5. I've seen those! Will make a point of trying them soon:) Love my instant pot!
  6. Anyone else take pix of their meals for their nutritionist visits? My nutritionist seems to really enjoy this.
  7. Yepper. Had insomnia from hell for two weeks. Got my period a week late after sleeve, then early the next month. Have had an acne flare up. And this is WAY TMI....but have had a sex drive that won't quit. Hubby is thrilled about this side effect. LOL.
  8. I love chili of all flavors. Turkey, beef and tofu. Today's chili was 95% extra lean ground sirloin, heavy on the tomatoes, peppers and onions:) Here's my favorite Tofu Chili with a whole wheat wasa:)
  9. Here's mine...complete with my pain in the arse food journal:) So what was your lunch today? Do you keep a food journal? Never thought I'd see the day when I'd be absolutely full on 6 multigrain scoops:) My puppy got the last one and some of the chili:)
  10. I have no interest in losing most of my weight in the first six months. I want a nice slow steady weight loss over 18 months eating a forever diet. I didn't put it all on in a few months...this is gonna take time. Will give my skin a chance to reduce. I'm not expecting miracles..lol...but I do want to give my skin its best chance.
  11. I never took the chewables. As long as it's the correct dose of Calcium Citrate...you're golden. Honestly? I just pop them in a glass with a little hot water or coffee and wait for them to soften a little...then I munch them up and swallow them. I get the big chalky monsters that are the size of a June bug. They have the taste and consistency of plaster of Paris going down...but meh...i'm cheap. It saves a buck and it's not so bad. I used to use a pill crusher and put the powder in sugar free Kool whip or yogurt.
  12. Woke up with a nagging pain in my shoulder like a pinched nerve. (deferred pain from haital hernia surgery I later learned I had) Incision pain wasn't bad. No nausea or tummy pain. Felt pretty good, actually. My best girlfriend came out a couple hours after I got a room and we walked all over together. Laughing hurt a little. I had a root canal that was way worse.

This was a gift for my mom's little dog. LOL. My puppy had to try it. Curiosity like a cat, this one.

It absolutely stinks that they don't live as long as we do.
  15. Talk to your team or your primary about the possibility of adjusting your dose.
  16. Try pouring four little one ounce medicine cups of fluids (clears or protein drink) every hour. Challenge yourself to drink one tiny cup every 15 minutes. If you do this every hour, it will add up and drinking will start to get easier.

My daughter coming home from college for the first time:)

I wasn't going to tell this story...but my husband's folks were both veterinarians and he often did kennel work for them as a kid. He said one of the dumbest dogs he'd ever met was a greyhound named "Celeste". Apparently, any time he opened a kennel door for her...she beat herself senseless trying to go through the crack with the hinges! LOL. Was not a rocket scientist among dogs. That said, I also know a very clever greyhound who does search and rescue:) I guess like everyone else they are individuals.

Hubby and I are also puppy raisers for Leader Dogs for the Blind. They give us a puppy...we keep it for a year doing basic obedience, giving it lots of new experiences....and after a year bring it back to the school to start formal training to guide a blind person. It's hard to give them back! But they do keep the name you choose, and if they are ever dropped from the program, the puppy raiser gets first option to adopt:) Dog training is something hubby and I have enjoyed doing together since we dated. All of our dogs do basic and advanced obedience, good citizenship tests, and have therapy certification. We like running agility, too. I've done humane education in schools and visited nursing homes with my fur kids. We have husky friends who mush sleds, too:)

Well, you do have to enjoy having everything you own being coated in a fine layer of fur. LOL. Or enjoy vacuuming daily...or both. Between my dog and three cats I have enough dust bunnies to knit a sweater:) Greyhounds are lovely. I've never met one who wasn't kind and mild. Enthusiastic...yes. LOL. Gentle tall dogs. They remind me of ballet dancers. Lean, athletic and graceful.
  21. This is the gist of it...to me, anywho. Head hunger....wanting food you like, but don't need...or wanting to eat to sooth emotional stress, when you've already met your body's nutritional needs. Real hunger....wanting healthy foods because you are out of fuel. One of these conditions is fixed by a piece of apple or chicken breast or a cheese stick....and one isn't. I'm concerned when I see folks stuggling with obesity calling real hunger "head hunger"....because it's another extreme that leads to a bad place, you know? There really is a middle ground between "OMG I can only eat 600 calories or the sky will fall"...and "lets pick up some donuts and soda to go with the pizza." I've actually been on both these boats a time or two...and they both go over the falls and crash. I want a sane, moderate, healthy diet, now. No more extremes. No more drama in either direction. I just want a normal diet.
