  1. It will be a good weight though - lean body mass. Don't get caught up in scale weight once you start weight training. If you can have a dexa scan to find out your body composition - lean body mass vs body fat percentage.
  2. Cocaine is not a one time thing, its highly addictive. Cocaine damages many other organs in the body. It reduces blood flow in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to tears and ulcerations.
  3. Think positive, you aren't going to need them. Recycle them, give them to a charity...there are many people who need them for than you will.
  4. Coke is a highly additive drug, and then there is the complication of transfer of an addiction. Some people after weight loss surgery transfer a food addiction to alcohol or drugs. As above, hopefully at the very least she can be encouraged to be discuss with her doctor.
  5. Not everyone has nausea or vomiting. Did your doctor give you an estimate of how much weight you would lose in the first few weeks? If so, it is only a guideline. Weight loss is different for everyone and no doubt there are some who lose a lot in the first weeks. At your start weight 10lb is fairly reasonable I would have thought. People tend to stall as they progress through the post op stages, and you may be experiencing this. If you stick to your guidelines the fat will come off, maybe not as fast as some but as fast as your body will allow.
  6. Well done! I love the gym tights.
  7. Are you consuming the volumes specified in your post op diet guidelines? If you, then I wouldn't say you were consuming too much at all.
  8. How exciting for you all! Hope it all goes well.
  9. I have a massive sweet tooth, best thing I have found is cold turkey. There will be a few days of horrible cravings but once that is over, things improve immensely and the need for a sugar hit has gone. Find ways to distract yourself when the cravings hit, something that occupies your mind and hands. Make sure nothing in the house to tempt you. I don't know how far how post op you are but maybe go back to some basics...protein, non starchy veges, etc and lots of good fluids.
  10. Regardless of what side of the food fence we sit on, all those documentaries that support our values do cherry pick the science and the data that they choose to present to try and win the other side other. I guess in that sense it is propaganda.
  11. You don't actually know for sure that losing weight will make your husband happier. Weight gain and lack of weight loss/yo-yo dieting can happen for complex reasons...significant overeating, unhealthy eating, yo-you dieting etc can sometimes be symptoms of something else that going on in someone's life that is more to do with emotions and mental health. You can't force your husband to lose weight and you can't force him to want to. You can explain to him that you love him and want him healthy so as he can enjoy a long and healthy life with you, your children and grandchildren...but he is going to have want to do it himself, its then you can support him. I am not entirely sure you understand how hard it is to make life style changes that stick long enough to make long term sustainable changes. A diet mentality isn't going to work...that's why we are all here. Is he suffering with depression? If so, that needs to be treated appropriately. Can the work pressures be dealt with? Different role and/or employer? Having a partner with different values can be frustrating for both, seems to me you both may need counselling sessions together and your own separate sessions, see if there is a middle ground that is a win/win for both.
  12. I have't been through it but just wanted to say hi/welcome and hopefully things improve significantly from now on for you. Don't know about an app, there may well be one, but I access the forums by using an unread posts link...it shows all new posts regardless of which subforum they have been posted in. https://www.bariatricpal.com/discover/unread/?&stream_unread_links=1&stream_classes[IPS\forums\Topic]=1
  13. I have and always diluted with warm water and sometimes honey. Not sure any of the additions in your ACV would make it more palatable. Due to the acid content I can't see that they would make the vinegar any easier to drink unless diluted.
  14. I certainly wouldn't be drinking it straight...damage to teeth. Mix with some warm water and perhaps a little amount of honey if your stomach can handle honey.
  15. Thanks everyone your input is appreciated.
  16. My revision to a gastric sleeve was confirmed today 18 March, paid my out of pocket costs, the count down is on.
  17. My revision (to a gastric sleeve) date was confirmed today, 18 March. Can't come quick enough, I am looking forward to moving on.
  18. I will be undergoing a revision from ESG to gastric sleeve mid March, I have been looking at protein products for the pureed/soft post op stages. I came across lupin soup made by Formulite. Just wondering if any one has tried it? How did you find it? I could also water it down more and filter for use in the liquid stage if needed. My program has a short liquid phase. I'd only be using it for a short while for the pureed/soft stage.....I could probably do my own broth thing and add flavourless protein powder...but I know me I wouldn't bother making the broth so best to have something on hand other than protein shakes or protein water. Thanks https://formulite.com.au/shop/lupin-soup-500g-beef-flavour/
  19. Trapped gas? Doing lots of walking? If it doesn't resolve itself soon you may want to chat with your medical team.
  20. Time will go quickly, make sure you are prepared for your pre-op diet (if you have one). Was there anything you particularly wanted to ask or know?
  21. happy to sell you mean
  22. That must be pretty scary. Have you seen your doctor yet about it?
  23. Are you allowed veges? If so, may be have a big bowl of them? Sugar free jelly/jello?
  24. Maybe a bug going around?
  25. Do you know how many calories you are eating at the moment? What type of foods are you are you eating? PS well done on your weight loss so far!
