Those are the ones I have. Premier Protein in vanilla and Bananas n Cream flavor. But for some strange reason I just can’t seem to tolerate the sweet taste of it at the moment. I guess I’m just over it cause I want something savory lol

That shoulder pain is no joke [emoji30] lol. I’m alternating btwn walking/heat pads/gas x strips to help. I’m struggling with Protein. I’m tired of all this sugar free Jello and vanilla/banana Protein Shakes, but I’m hanging in there. I’m dying for real food already. Luckily I can start on soft foods tomorrow according to my doctors. So happy! It’s been a tough journey on liquids lol

I know that the majority of you who are post-op say walk, walk, walk but I wondering on how much you are walking, or do you just let your body tell you that’s enough?
Let your body tell you that’s enough. I still get winded out (6 days post op)... but walk and do what you can to an extreme. Take breaks when you can. Stay hydrated.

How is everyone doing who's had there surgery within the last week or two?
Had my surgery on the 12th, went home the next day. Advice to you is walk walk walk! It’ll help relieve the gas pain and the air they pump in your stomach to release. Sip sip sip all day, but slowly of course. Im only able to keep 2oz down per hour. Listen to your body it’ll tell you when you’re full. I’m already down 18 pounds, and healing great. Pay close attention to all your docs instructions and follow them to the T for best post-op recovery and you will do great! Best of luck!

Have you tried the Halo Top brand? It’s delicious and they also have a dairy-free line. Sorry you went through that!

Anyone else experience this? I am 5 days post op but have been experiencing this everyday since surgery after I eat (drink) anything.

Just had surgery yesterday. Only feeling pressure and gas all day. Hopefully I get to go home today! Fingers crossed!

I am also booked for the 12th! How exciting! Although I’m getting the mini rny. My surgeon suggested it because I’m considered “underweight”

After asking thousands of questions to my surgeon, he decided to do the Mini Gastric Bypass because I’m a bit on the smaller side and doing the RNY would cause me to be VERY underweight.
I’m a bit nervous! What should I be expecting post op?
-
Same here. People have told me that the RNY is far more high risk than the sleeve, how it’s the most dangerous surgery out of all of them. But I’m not going to let that steer me away from getting the bypass. It’s really the most successful one for people combating diabetes.

I’m happy for ya, and remember you control what you loose too is not all the bypass, when you reaching your desirable weight increase your calories. Or build muscle. So don’t be afraid of it. I’m doing it for almost the same reason, mine is just a bad history.

Thank you!! I have a ton of other qualifying health conditions as well, but I have a 1 year old daughter and I want to be healthy for her and not worrying about having to battle with diabetes! Thanks for the great advice about increasing calories and building muscle! Will look into that once I’ve reached my goal!

I get my surgery date December 13, and I’m a bit nervous. I’ve read so many great success stories but what I’m scared most of all is of the dumping or loosing too much weight. I’m already starting with a low BMI of 33. But all my health issues (with type 2 diabetes being most important) is what keeps me from steering myself away from surgery.

I was 207 as well, until I started the liquid preop diet. Got to 199 and just has the bypass done today! I am 5'3. I Have high blood pressure and am pre diabetic and in metabolic syndrome.
