Thank you! I hadn't thought of the future and how this weight might hinder me. It is true, if I am already having horrible knee pain, it will only get worse. And I have a 19 month old. I'm still in the early stages of my journey. I think I will look into the groups within my program and see about attending. I do this often where I get my head on something then change my mind about 3 weeks in. But I need to get past that road block and actually do this for myself and my family.

Hello all, I am very new. I have been reading a lot about bariatric surgery. I haven't gone to my first appt., it is tomorrow. I have read that a pro to the vertical sleeve is that it stops the hunger causing hormone. Does RNY do the same thing. It seems since it is left and reattached that the hormone would just run out into the intestine, but it would still be absorbed and cause hunger. This is one of the biggest questions I have on deciding which surgery.

I want to get a bike. I've wanted a bike for years but I'm past the weight to just be able to purchase one at Target or Walmart. I'd also like to fit in my normal bathtub and use bath bombs to relax.

Sorry to jump in, but while reading this I wanted to ask, so you have to do all the visits and consultations before you are approved by insurance? I've worked with insurances and you think I would know this, but I haven't had my first appointment yet. It is today, I just figured they started the approval process in the beginning.

Thank you! That is the hormone I kept reading about when it came to the sleeve. And I wasn't sure how or if it had any less effect with RNY. I am leaning more toward RNY. I have my first appointment today.
