Great idea on the pics Alicia! I will get working on that ASAP! I weighed myself this morning and have lost 5 pounds since my surgery last week! I had a heckuva time finding something to wear to work this morning. I had a pair of size 18 khakis I have been waiting to try and they were huge on me.... so much for that! Got some interesting news about my surgery costs last night. I will know more on Thursday when I see my doc to have my stitches removed but it looks like it will be good news. I will keep you posted! Make sure you get out and vote today. My MIL is running for her final term as state representative, she is term limited after this term. Keep your fingers crossed for her! I think she has it by a landslide but you never know. Here in my state of Colorado there are a lot of important issues on the ballot today. Domestic partnerships and legalizing marijuana (sp?) being the most heated ones. Should be an interesting day to say the least. Let's see some pics!!!

My kinda thread! Mindy... I got cherry blossoms on the top of my foot a few months ago... lemme try to attach a pic... hope it isn't too big! Next I want a nautical star and a sparrow. Hubby and I are talking about both getting sparrows next year for our anniversary.

I can drink either. As of right now I am a bit tighter in the AM but once I drink something (hot or cold) I am good to go!

Thanks everyone!! stina.... the best thing I can tell you to do right now if you think you have a problem is to call Inamed and they will open a case file on your problem and you will have a way to track it. I am sending my port/tubing back to them this week and will await their verdict on the issue. I personally think my leak was caused by a needle hitting the tubing when my doc tried to give me a fill but I won't be sure until Inamed examines the tubing.

Mine dosen't use flouro..... and I just had my tubing and port replaced because of a leak. Did he puncture it with the needle while looking for the port? I don't have that answer yet.

Holy crap! November already! Where did it all go? I have been banded just over six months now. I actually had my port replacement done on my 6 month anniversary. Fun, huh? Anyone have any special goals for the month?? My 4th wedding anniversary is at the end of November and hubby and I are thinking about maybe heading down to Santa Fe for a weekend. We'll see.... there never seems to be enough time for stuff like that. I would like to be down 23ish more pounds by the end of the year. That would put me at 210 and just inches away from onderland! Hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to hearing about how you are doing!

That seems like too high of an income to qualify for Medicaid... at least in my state anyway!

I'm here I'm here!!! Sorry I didn't update this thread last night. My surgery went fine and dandy and I was home yesterday evening. Holy crap I know what restriction is now!! I tried to eat half a toasted english muffin this morning and it got stuck. OUCH!! My hubby has been great taking care of me, he even went out to get takeout that I wanted tonight. Guess I'll keep him around awhile longer after all! Thanks for all the nice thoughts and prayers. You guys RAWK!!

No, my port didn't flip. I had a leak in my tubing that connects the port to the band. This was confirmed with a fill under flouro using contrast. Did your daughter ever find anyone to do a fill for her? Where does she live? How was it determined her port has flipped? Have you contacted her original surgeon about this? PM me if you would like.

I had my port/tubing replaced today and all went well. The surgery itself was only about 45 minutes and I was in recovery for about the same amount of time. I am not NEARLY as sore as I was after I was banded. I am even able to lay in bed on my side! Wooohoo! I am taking tomorrow off and will head back to work on Monday. My doc gave me the port/tubing he removed so I can get it sent back to Inamed for testing. I was thinking of maybe taking a pic of it and posting it. Anyone interested??

Hi Brandi and welcome! You will find lots of good info here and some really great people. I was also self-pay so I understand where you are coming from. I was banded May 2 2006 and to date have lost about 47 pounds. I have developed a leak in the tubing connecting the port to the band and am having that replaced on Thursday.
