PaulaAW got a reaction from MTL in Bariatric Vitamins
HI, dont know if this will help, but there is a multi Vitamin especially designed for post bariatric surgery like the Gastric Sleeve. The website is BNMultis.co.au or BN Multis.co.nz for those in New Zealand. There is a special price for bulk buying. I have got on the NZ site, 12months worth or BN Multis - chewable, you chew 2 a day, dont tast too bad, the cost for the year is $300 nzd, works out to be $25nzd per month. Apart from these, I get my Calcium on perscription from my doctor which cost me $5 nzd for 3 months supply. Hope this helps

There is a liquid form of calcium citrate available (Solgar and a couple of other brands that I have seen) that may work for you. My wife used to make it into her smoothies that had a lot of her supplements. Her current thing is to simply dissolve the pills into her smoothie which costs less, but the liquids worked well. There are a few flavors (orange, strawberry, blueberry, IIRC) so they can be mixed into something compatible in flavor.

Try adding the recommended Protein powders, the more of it you put into your diet the less you'll feel hungry. Increase your intake of Water and your walking.. The walking will help ease the mind as it gives you sometjing to do and help with taking some weight off along with the water intake....as long as youre getting in your protein dont worry about how much youre eating because at this point of time you can only get in about three table spoons of food..... Your body has just been through a major surgery so everything seems out of wack mentally asnd physically each day tell yourself and know it will get better only you can do this better than asny doctor or nutrionist...All is well and you will be one to relate later on and encourage another on their journey just as Ive done☺️☺️☺️☺️

I had mine a year ago now. 45kg down and holding. I still wonder if I should have gone roux-en-y instead of sleeve.. but am glad I am holding at current weight.
I think perhaps I thought some aspects of things would be easier, and others harder. eg I can still eat normal volume of food without discomfort, or full signal, but then randomly regurgitate certain foods, and it isn’t consistent with that same food later/earlier or related to size of meal. I guess my tum is a bit random now. No spices, that is for certain!! I get awful reflux from time to time, even on omeprazole.
I have found the physical changes hard to recognise. I still feel the same size, and get surprised at photos. Anyone else have that??

I am almost 6 weeks post op, and I still feel hungry. Then when I eat, I can eat a tiny little amount before I start to feel slightly nauseous. Eating is not a lot of fun right now, but I figure it will get better over time as I get used to my sleeve. So I definitely understand when you say you still feel hungry!
If you aren't already, take a look at your Protein, carbs, fat, etc. I had a small stall, but then I increased my carbs a bit and I have dropped 7 lbs in the past week. Weight loss is weird . . . sometimes a tiny little change can get it going again.
    Good luck to you!!

I second the ppi suggestion. But, research, research, research. My Dr recommends the ppi for only 30 days post op. Long term use isn't always recommended, but under a Dr's care, many take them long term if necessary. I switched to pepcid and have been OK.

You've lost over 16kg (~36lbs) in less than 7 weeks. That is success.
As far as hunger, I went through that, too. I was so angry that I was hungry post-op. Are you taking an acid reducer (proton pump inhibitor aka PPI)? They may help to reduce the feeling of hunger.
The bottom line is that you are still healing and can't completely trust all of the signals your body is sending you right now. The nerves haven't fully healed and may not be sending accurate info to the brain.
The only way to know if you're eating correctly is through hard data. Measure your food. Know your calorie intake. Walk. Drink lots of Water.
You will go through weeks of not losing. It stinks. It is disappointing and frightening. In fact, I just went 2 weeks without losing an ounce, then BAM, 4lbs (1.8kg) off in one week.
Just come on to the boards whenever you need to let off steam. Goodness knows I have.
    Best.

Glad to hear you are doing so well what fantastic results, very inspirational. I am trying not to be impatient and just enjoy losing weight but I cant wait for goal! Has gone up a bit in NZ 21.5 k cost about 13k in Malaysia with flights and accommodation for the week. The bit Iiked about this surgeon was his ideas on pre-op diet - no licquid prep and only 3 days post op.

I am now a "Kiwi"! I arrived in NZ a little over 6 years ago. I live on Waiheke Island. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland in the U.S. Anybody out there from New Zealand that wants to chatter away?

I also had this right after surgery, and sometimes even now a year later I get them.. I found that it is when I eat to fast, and I asked my doctor, and he said the same thing.
