  1. I’ve had RNY and I’m about 3 days shy of 3 weeks out. I am starting to worry because I currently still get very tired just doing simple things like walking and when I stand up, I get a little dizzy, my heart rate also goes a little high when I do anything even remotely strenuous. I am eating about 600 calories a day, getting in 48-64 ounces of Fluid and around 60 grams of Protein. I feel like I shouldn’t be feeling this crappy still. On my 3rd post op day I was readmitted to the hospital for 4 nights because my body went into diabetic ketoacidosis (I’ve had type one diabetes for the majority of my life), so I’m beginning to worry it’s happening again. Does anyone else feel this way, or felt this way around the same time as me? Thanks in advance.

  2. Glad to read you are OK! This surgery with T1 diabetes must really be a challenge!

Thank you. :) I hate to say it but at the moment, yes, it is quite a challenge but I’m very blessed to have access to a great medical team who are helping me as much as possible and I’m thinking this is just a new path of learning and eventually it’ll become second nature.

  3. God is good I'm glad you made it out of surgery safe & now have the knowledge you need to treat your diabetes. I pray you continue to heal with know issues. Happy healing

I just had revision bypass surgery on March 9th in Tijuana MX and the surgery was flawless as well. Only discomfort I'm experiencing is a swollen stomach that makes me look like I'm 8 mths pregnant. I know it's due to the surgery but I can't wait until this pass.

That’s wonderful! Of course that must be so uncomfortable. I had some similar stuff I think it passed after about 3-4 days. Just do you best to let the gas pass!! Wishing you a speedy and easy recovery! Thank you for your kind words!

  4. Hi Fantasstik welcome to the loser side[emoji3] how did your surgery go and how are you feeling?

Thank you! Today I’m on cloud nine. I have type 1 diabetes and after coming home from the hospital for one very uncomfortable night, I was readmitted to hospital until yesterday because I had gone into diabetic ketoacidosis. It was awful. However surgery went flawlessly and now I have knew knowledge and a better understanding about my diabetes (even though I’ve had it for 28 years 🤦‍♀️) and I’m home and doing so much better.

  5. I'm only allowed 2 replacement shakes a day (I've been going back and forth with Atkins and premiere) with a lean cuisine for the first 7 days. The last 3 days is a clear liquid diet. It does feel amazing losing weight before! 10 pounds is amazing! This whole process has been very challenging and long. I'm glad I'm almost at the end of the tunnel. It sure has changed my eating habits and not to mention my portion size. Before my pre-op diet, my friends wanted to have a party and have great food as my "last meal", I only ate half of taco and felt sick to my stomach. I couldn't even enjoy the piece of cake I had. [emoji20] The chocolate Protein Shakes will have to do now. lol
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as we start this amazing journey together! [emoji4]

How are you doing? Just a little over one day to go! This liquid diet has not been a fun one but I’m happy I was able to do it and be confident I’ll have a safer surgery.
