Look into the SIPS procedure. I too was on the fence but my surgeon was studying SIPS and it’s been amazing so far. All the plusses with very few minuses. No dumping, GERD, cured my dt2 and has longer successes than VSG
A majority of them are being done in Utah,NJ and at Duke. You can find some surgeons that are doing them around the country. Many have been doing it as a revision but I had mine done all as one
My bonus dad had sips and he loves it whereas my bonus mom had RnY but his procedure was a year after hers and wasnt an option for her.

I guess every plan and surgeon is different. I'm on liquids for 21 days, then pureed for 21 days etc. So right now I do a Protein Water, a crystal light, broth, 80 grams worth of Protein Shake and maybe a jello

What type of Protein Shakes were using. I'm sure that if your Protein increase then you won't be hungry. Right now with what you listed you're not really getting anything nutritional which is clear that you're hungry. I think using a different brand may help but runny poop and gas is completely normal at this stage. I just worry introducing things too soon may sabotage your weight loss eventually. I only had surgery 2/14/18, but I have a lot of friends and family members that have taken this journey before me and that has been their advice.... stick to the plan. Hope this helps

My surgeon gave me the same option either would be approved. He told me he recommended the sleeve and if years later I hadn’t lost enough with sleeve I could do revision to rny. Revision!! My plan is to have one surgery, not a potential second. Also I have pretty bad gerd after telling him that he suggested it would be best for rny, he said if I suffer it would be worse after sleeve. 5 day until surgery!!
I would suggest the RnY because of your history. That's what my surgeon recommended for me and based on my personal research that was the best option for me. I just had mine on 2/14/18.

I would say yes. What are you currently taking in daily?

I just had RnY on February 14th, and I was told it's normal to feel tired because our bodies are adjusting to a major surgery, calorie intake is low etc. The closer you get to meeting a 80 gram Protein goal and 64 oz fluids you will feel better. Every few days I make a broth with ramen noodles packets and that kind of picks me up!

Hey everyone! My process was just over 5 months and I used Medicare. I did my initial consultation Sept 8, 2017 and I had my RnY Feb 14, 2018. All of my appts went really fast... I just needed to lose a few lbs.... once I met goal weight Dec 8 I got my surgery date about the 3rd week in Jan.

I have GERD, but my surgeon suggested the RNY because of it. Everyone I know that had a history with GERD and had the sleeve it worsened.
