  1. Need some advice guys! Last few days, I am so tired. I could literally fall asleep talking to people. I was at a very important business meeting today. I kept blinking my eyes so much to keep them open, I'm afraid I looked crazy. I haven't had tiredness like this since I was diagnosed with sleep apnea a few years ago. My apnea number is really significant, 123 events per hour w/o the machine. I'd imagine my number is lower now since I've lost all this weight. Anyway, back on topic. I thought maybe my apneas were out of control some how because I can relate this tiredness to before the machine. I called my respiratory therapist who can download my sleep results remotely. She looked and said that my events per hour are less than 1 and my leakage is very low. Which leads me to my next question... what in the world is causing me to be this tired. This isn't just, "I'm a little tired today", this is a "I probably shouldn't drive my car home from work tired". I had my vitamin levels checked at 3 months post op, which was just over a month ago. Everything was within normal ranges. Could something have changed in that short period of time? The crazy part is I've had a regular iced tea the last few days, and I haven't had caffeine in MONTHS. So I would have thought I would be even more alert. I'm seriously alarmed with the level of tired I feel. I don't know if I should go to the doctor or what....
  2. I'm confused as to why this matters as a diabetic. I am a diabetic and my NUT and doctor encourages snacks between meals, as long as they are protein focused. I have breakfast around 7am, snack around 10:30, lunch around 1:30, and dinner around 6:30pm. My blood sugar will drop too low in between if I didn't have snacks.
  3. The tuna packets that come in the foil packaging. They don't require fridge rated , and some have 11+grams of protein . Premade protein shakes don't have to be cold. There are some protein "snack" packs that are really good. I usually omit the crackers that come with.
  4. I was hungry after surgery as well, until I went into the purred phase. Then I almost had the opposite reaction. I had some food aversion, that or a severe lack of appetite. Things change so quickly with this surgery. I wouldn't worry that you'll be hungry forever, because eventually you will have semi-solids again and will fill up after a bite or two. Or you will go through something similar to me and WISH you were hungry or that something sounded good. Its almost as bad to force yourself to eat something as to want to eat something you cant have.
  5. I have similar regrets. I should have done this when I reached 250. Even 275. But I’m glad I finally did it. That’s all we can do.
  6. I’m in the same boat! To be at ideal weight I need to loose 200lbs. My first goal is 150lbs though.
  7. I was working out 5 days a week. Cardio for 30 mins and weight lifting for nearly an hour. It’s been a few weeks though because I’ve been swamped since summer commenced. But I’m getting back at it ASAP.
  8. I use natural coconut oil as well, works well!
  9. Ladies who are post op or who have lost a lot pre op thus far....HELP! My stomach is holding on to dear life! I'm so frustrated. I'm disappointed. I carry a lot of weight in my stomach, so it's natural that I still am struggling to loose there. But I'm 91lbs down and.... have went from a 24/26 to a 18/20. I have a couple pairs of stretchy work pants that are 16/18's. But I've only virtually went down 2 sizes. What gives people?!?
  10. I think you should be fine! Most people report an increase in sexual pleasure after WLS. Thank you for his service!
  11. I agree 100% with James! Bio Oil is awesome! I use it every day, twice a day. I used to have very dry skin with scaly patches. Now the oil has done the trick. I also think it helps to prevent the "turkey neck" some people get after loosing so much.
  12. I always "gain" a few pounds during that time of the month. So I know its possible for hormones to affect it.
  13. I did the exact same thing. 2 weeks post op I went to the grocery store and had to stop in the middle of shopping and leave my cart. I just couldn't do it anymore. I hit a big brick wall. It does get easier. Your energy levels will return. Mine did around 6 weeks.
  14. I can def see a difference in your waste! Glad you joined the group.
  15. Pain in the shoulder can be an indication of a leak. I would contact your surgeon ASAP.
  16. I bet if you did a "mock" pre op diet that 6lbs would melt off. I lost around 25lbs doing the pre op diet.
  17. I love both places. I’ve bought a lot from there since I’ve been loosing. I talked to a lady the other day who didn’t even know they carried plus sizes. But clothes can be so expensive, I still shop at Walmart and target just to get me by. No need to spend $40+ on a top that I will be too small for in a couple months.
  18. Glad you joined the thread! Congrats on your loss!
  19. Some of my favorites include: Olive Garden- Zuppa Tuscana soup. 220 cal, 15 carbs, 7 protein. Herb-Grilled Samon. 460 cal, 8 carbs, 43 protein. Chilis- Chicken or Steak Fajitas w/o the shells. I will also substitute the rice for steamed broccoli. 6oz classic sirloin with grilled Avocado. I get it without the Citrus Chile sauce, because I don't do spicy since surgery. It comes with a fresco salad & roasted tomatoes, but you could substitute for a veggie. Five Guys- I get a burger lettuce wrap. Sometimes I add cheese. Chic'fil'A- Naked chicken nuggets. Taco Bell/Chipotle/Qudoba- At taco bell, I get the power bowl and get it without rice. It makes at least 2 meals. The same thing at Chipotle and Qudoba, I get a bowl without rice. Occasionally, with brown rice. Wendy's- Chili or a grilled chicken sandwich without a bun. Sometimes a salad, if I'm going home and can use my own dressing. Pretty much all restaurants have some sort of grilled protein. Don't be afraid to substitute fries for veggies or cottage cheese. Especially if they serve breakfast food. I'll get an omelet or a skillet without potatoes.
  20. I have to disagree with you. There are a lot of good options if you look hard enough. This surgery is about making *good* choices. You can't avoid going to restaurants and eventually you will be in a situation to need to stop at a gas station or fast food. Its important you know what to choose. We eat out at least 2-3x per month. I'm more limited on where I go, but I don't avoid eating out.
  21. Welcome Tina! I noticed your starting weight is over 300lbs. Feel free to join our thread!
  22. My mom had a breast reduction a few years ago. She wasn't overweight, but had very large breasts. As a result, she also had "side boob" which was removed by her plastic surgeon along with the breast reduction. What she thought was "back fat" was actually breast. She looks a lot smaller around than she used to. I imagine they used liposuction to get that side area. Hope that helps.
  23. nothing wrong with cheese in my book! and it would be a crime to have it without!
  24. Are you avoiding straws? Added air flow can be a cause. Also, are you mixing your own protein shakes? I always had to let mine settle before drinking because there were a lot of air bubbles. I still feel that way from time to time. As far as the sweating goes, I remember being very warm in the hospital. It might be your body's natural reaction to healing. I didn't start developing the notorious "cold intolerance" until just recently.
