    Sushi?

I had sushi (well a sushi bar appetizer) for lunch today. Tuna Carpachio - spicy crab & watercress wrapped in seared tuna. Super high in protein and delish. I'm scared to try a roll with rice and have only tried non-rice rolls & apps. How did it sit with you? Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

6 days post op sleeve NEED ADVICE PLEASE!

Thank you! Sadly, I have... It's definitely part of re-learning eating. Your head says, it's a quarter of a chicken breast, ha! - easy. But your stomach says otherwise. Plus, I eat too fast. The pain is dull and uncomfortable - sorta like bad gas pain but in my back rib area. I try to get up and walk/pace when I can and it's gone in about a minute. As much as you listen to your body there will be times that one food fills you much differently than another. You'll be okay!

6 days post op sleeve NEED ADVICE PLEASE!

I too was able to drink normally after surgery. Consider it a blessing that you'll be able to meet your hydration goals easily! Also, I was hungry on the liquid phase. Once you introduce solids you'll definitely feel your new stomach. I literally had a half a meatball for dinner 🤔. Congrats on your surgery! Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Protein Water

I bought Premier protein water in tropical punch on jet.com. It tastes good - for protein water, that is.. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Like someone said earlier, it all depends on the person. I had surgery on a Tuesday, was released Thursday and was at work (office) comfortably on Monday. I hope this helps!

    November sleevers here

@BusyMom945, not stalled (but also don't weigh in daily so maybe there's been a couple of days of stalls) but wanted to comment because I was sleeved on the same day and have lost the same as you. Hopefully that's helpful as a comparison. Maybe each person loses differently? What I've read and heard is that as long as you're hitting your goals - it'll come off. Especially as early on as we are. I'm sure the scale will budge soon!
  8. Great post! You seem so self-aware and I believe that will be incredibly helpful through your journey. I wanted to comment because I am 4 days away from being sleeved and I wanted you to know that the time will fly! Anticipation at certain times (the very beginning, when you schedule your date, and for me now) are difficult but overall, you'll need this time to prepare! So much good luck to you.

    Protein shakes

I just started pre-op diet and absolutely fell in love with Syntrax Nectar Sweets Double Stuffed Cookie Powder w/ milk. Tastes like an oreo shake!
  10. @Maryvsg87 - I don't have too much advice because I don't start till next week but have you considered Nectar for variety? I've tried a few from the variety pack (https://www.google.com/search?q=nectar+protein+sample+pack&oq=nectar+protien+&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0l5.4783j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8) and they are really good. Premier are great too. Your positive attitude is awesome! Good luck to you today
  11. Hey all! I saw my dentist last week and thought this would be a good place to share what I've learned. Hopefully it helps you research, prepare, or prompt a conversation with your dentist. Apparently, tooth decay and tooth loss after surgery is a common thing. There are a bunch of reasons for this, vomiting, vitamin deficiency, etc.. I'm pretty fond of my smile and I refuse to let this happen to me! I hate water and my nutritionist said, try True Lemon - it's natural and safe. But, what I've now learned, from a dental perspective, is that it's full of citric acid which will eat away at my tooth enamel. So I have to suck it up, drink the water, and add the True Lemon as a treat. (Totally derails my water after surgery game plan - but I will have teeth) Haven't had a fluoride treatment in I can't tell you how long, but now this will become part of my 6 month check up to better protect my teeth. Also, I was instructed to use mouthwash with fluoride. This is some of what I learned. Not saying it'll apply to everyone but it's something to think about.
  12. @Maryvsg87 just printed. Thank you!
  13. Amanda, you're amazing!! You made it from scratch? You go girl! Lol - way too often my plans derail too... and then there's pizza on the kitchen table
  14. I'm right there with you still having to feed a family - I think I've tried most of the services but I'm currently using Gobble. It makes meal prep easier in general but I'm hoping it helps the pre/post op transition - so the fam will have the meals and I'll have the soups (with added protein powder). Amanda, I love the thanksgiving idea and that you're a planner too! I may just have to copy you. Looks like we're going to be great support to one another Talk soon!
  15. Thanks Amanda! Glad to make a buddy in the same shoes. I do a home meal delivery subscription service for our family weeknight dinners to make life less chaotic and just picked the menu for the 14th. For me it was butternut squash & pumpkin soup - annnd that was the moment it got really real! So many emotions. You have a great day too!! Jackie
  16. Oh, man. I'm so sorry! Hopefully they can just resubmit and approve quickly for you. I cannot imagine how are feeling right now but I'm sending good thoughts your way. Good luck!
  17. @confusedturtle3 Another November 21st here too! Hi! [emoji112] I think motivation sounds like a great idea. I start my liquid diet on the 14th. Sent from my SM-N920P using BariatricPal mobile app
