Hi Tonks! Welcome to the site! I've been a member here for quite sometime, and the support I receive is amazing! Congratulations on your loss and success so far!
-
So, I've been struggling to get back on track 100% for a little while now. But then, I found a youtube.com video, and I am SO Motivated and Inspired! I hope it'll help you too!!
Today gentlemen, I am honored to coach you
More honored to be leading you onto the field of battle
But theres another honor to be bestowed upon you
And that is in the answer that comes with that question:
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Thats right, and you need to remember that all through this game
I will conquer what has not been conquered
Defeat will not be in my creed
I will believe what others have doubted
I will always endeavor to pull esteem, honor, and respect out of my team
I have trained my mind and my body will follow
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
I will acknowledge the fact that my opponent does not expect me to win
But I will never surrender
Weakness will not be in my heart
I will look to my comrades and to those who are a part of me in this world and those who have trained me
And I will draw strength from them
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
I will gladly go out into the field of battle
And I will move in everything I can do
And I will reach my field of battle by any means at my disposal
And when I get there, I will arrive violently
I will rip the heart from my enemy, and leave it bleeding on the ground
Because he cannot stop me
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
To my side I have comrades, comrades that have been with me through thick and thin
Who have sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears
Never will I let them fall, never will I let them down, and I will never leave an enemy behind
Because our opponent does not know my heart
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
No one will deny me, no one will define me
And no one will tell me who and what I am and can be
Belief will change my world
It has moved continents, it has moved countries, it has put men on the moon
And it will carry me through this battle
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Defeat, retreat: those are not in my words
I dont understand those definitions
I dont understand when things go wrong
I dont understand mistakes
But I do understand this:
I understand victory,
And I understand never surrendering
No matter how bad things go my heart and my mind will carry my body through limits and weakness
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Today will be that day
Not tomorrow, not next week, but right now, right here
In your house and in your homes
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
History will remember me
I will not let worrying affect my cause
I will define myself
I will write my own pages
And no one will tell me what I cannot be
I will never give up
Not until Ive given everything I got
Because who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!
Who am I? I AM A CHAMPION!

Funny that this was posted...As I just updated my status stating my displeasure. I as well as others, rely heavily on the support and friendships that have developed from this site, but with the constant hiccups, there's no LIVE support now, just frustration.

If there were things you would find helpful if they were more accessible during your Lap Band Journey, to make your life easier what would it be and why?
It could be anything! A specific meal outline, a LapBand friendly gym, ANYTHING!! Lets Hear it!!

I was cleared for all exercise at my 6 week post op appointment. It all depends on your healing and your surgeons recommendations.

That would be willing to meet me to work out?
I can do early am monday and fridays
Evening Tuesday and Thursdays
afternoons Wednesdays and Saturdays and anytime on Sundays.
Here's my story:
I need to go to the gym. I am more likely to go to the gym if someone else is going to rely on me to be there. (In the sense of a workout buddy)
However, When I am at the gym I don't talk much and I think that puts my chatter box girlfriends off a bit. (I get a bit focused and intense)
A perk (Maybe even a bribe), My gym membership allows me unlimited guest privilages. So even if you don't have a PF membership and would like to help me get my lazy soul get back in gear, let me know.
THANKS!!

What you meant is not what came across. I can not read your thoughts in the words, only what the words themselves me. Excuse me for following the rules of how English has been used for centuries. Terms like "these" people have always been used to connote an outsider, someone who doesn't belong and inferior in some way. Obviously, you don't understand how English is spoken. So sorry, next time I will include a lesson on its use.
Seriously...??? It's a message board, it's a little difficult for people to read "Tones". Why don't you take it easy. For someone who is open to SHAGGING other people while in a commited relationship you really should learn to lighten up a bit. As myself also being one of "These" people, I didn't take offense to the way it was written, because I understand that 1. she's new to the scene, and 2. IT'S A MESSAGE BOARD AND YOU CAN'T READ TONES OR BODY LANGUAGE. Relax dude, seriously.
-
Okay so I've read all three pages of this... Here are my thoughts:
1. Yes I've had threesomes a few and they were all pre op (Haven't made the leap post op yet!
2. the first time I was uber nervous, i should have educated myself a little bit more before i did it.
3. Definatley make sure you and your partner are WELL aware of the rules of the game. (Don't look for any, make your own :crying: )
4. Post an ad on craigslist in the adult section maybe casual connections or mf4f or mf4m or mf4mf etc etc. There are other sites too like adultfriendfinder
5. Meet with your potential candidate at least once before or even for a drink (not so many that your judgement will be completely impaired! like I said before, to get to know each other and make sure there is a sexual chemistry. Online pics can be deceiving, And a threesome with a third can be uncomfortable, unsatifing and down right BORING if there's NO chemistry!
6. If you find that person that you are super into, go over "The rules" and make sure all parties are comfortable
7. Remember, Play SAFE, Relax, Enjoy, AND HAVE FUN!
One thing that i DO want to add: Make sure you both understand the possibilities with a threesome, swap or swing session. All too often Couples INSIST that jeleousy WONT BE A PROBLEM, at first it is, for many people. Just remember, you are the loves of each others life and you both willingly gave consent to "play". As long as you both stick to the rules that you set yourselves then you should be alright.
Think of all the options! Feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions! Sex talk is my fortay!

well said misskitty. maggie being an "older" woman comes from a different era so she wouldn't understand.the rest of us live it up!!! life is short!!!
Theres a swingers club here in Rhode Island and believe it or not a majority of the members are 45+, and they have so much fun!
-
lets just say vegas offers anonymity/discretion/and an escape from reality.Amen sister!:crying:
-
craigslist...my suggestion is to meet a potential third or couple in a bar or a restaurant first. It's a good way to feel out if there is chemistry first. It's uncomfortable enough at first. At least you can get to know each other and go over a few of the basics BEFORE you "Get to KNOW each other" ya dig? :crying:

Hi There , not in ct. But I'm a neighbor to the east in lil rhode island!! Good luck in your journey!!

Check out www.nitetimetoys.com theres a product on there called the G-Vibe, I've heard great results from it and its SO cheap. Also, use coupon code LBT and get free shipping on ANY Order no matter what size.

"I am so glad that I got the band and want to do everything to keep it, I like eating what I want only a very small portion of it..... food also tastes better for some reason....maybe the chewing. Good luck!!!!"
People look at me funny when I have dessert or an appetizer. They mostly don't realize, I dont have much of a physical restriction on what I can eat. (Except bread Pasta and rice) I have to remind them, "I am just more like you now...I can have a slice of pie, not the whole thing.":w00t:
I found that too, that food tastes better. I think I've grown a new appreciate for food. My husband said I've also become a better cook. Which is a bonus. I do a lot of food network watching now, and have started developing new recipes to make them more band friendly.

weight loss varies person to person. It depends on a few factors:
Starting weight. The heavier you are, the faster it comes off - initially, then for some it starts to slow down a bit. (It did for me)
Commitment: I;m sure as you may have been told...the band or any weight loss surgery is not an over night fix. It a whole new lifestyle. You have to be willing to make the changes and work WITH your new tool and not expect it to do everything for you.
I started my journey at 342 pounds and I've lost 95 pounds since october 19th, 2007. (My Bandeversay) I've just come of of a 2 + month plateau. I started working out again and keeping a food journal and its been helping to get back on track. (I lost most of that weight before my 2nd fill)
I hate to say it, power eating is no longer an option with the band. You run werious risks if you try to do it. ( I know you know that though) One thing you are going to have to differentiate is physical hunger and head hunger. I know I had to do a 2 week preop liquid diet and thats when I learned what was really Hungry and what was boredom/emotional/etc. hungry.
The best suggestion I can give is Keep your eye on the prize. Go buy some jeans that are a few sizes down from where you are. Try them on from time to time. It helped me. Best of luck!
