  1. Hi Lina! I had my sleeve done 11/22 and have been recovering since then. I'd be happy to share some advice! 1) It's really important to consume as much liquid (and protein) as you can after surgery. Stay on top of water and protein shake consumption every hour, even though you may feel like sleeping all day. 2) Follow your doctor's plan very closely. That's what matters most.
  2. Thanks! I'll have one now
  3. The worst pain I'm feeling is gas stuck in my left shoulder and pain in my ribs when I cough, burp or hiccup. Also going from a laying down position to sitting up is painful on the left side of my abdomen.
  4. Hi there, thank you! I'm feeling a LOT better. I switched to ice instead of a heating pad on my torso and it made a big difference. The drainage tube was collecting any excess blood and water that may have been collecting near the outside of my stomach after surgery. Pic attached here.
  5. Finally heading home today from the hospital - my surgery was 2 days ago and the pain I felt afterwards was the worst pain I've been through in my life! Once the nurse took my drainage tube out of my torso, I felt a lot better. Anyone go through the same thing?
  6. I think you wear it for as long as you feel comfortable with it. I don't think you're required to wear it for a minimum or max amount of time.
  7. Hope your procedure went well today!!!
  8. Still in a lot of pain since my surgery on Wednesday morning. Staying in hospital for one more night and hopefully getting discharged in the morning pending how well I'm coping with the pain. Anyone have advice on dealing with Pain? Does it get better by day 3?
  9. Had my sleeve surgery yesterday morning and also had my hiatal hernia fixed. Pain level is 10 out of 10 for me, I'm miserable!
  10. Had my sleeve surgery today and am in a lot of pain.

  16. Had a NSV today: didn't need a seatbelt extender on my flight this morning!
  17. Did your doc give you any nausea meds and if so, is the issue that they aren't working?
  18. Still on my pre-op diet as I chose to do it for a full month to help shrink my liver down and I've finally broken the 280s! I weighed in this morning at 278!!!
  19. I have to fly from Chicago to San Francisco on Sunday and I am currently on my pre-op liquid diet. How do I carry my shakes on the flight? Will a doctor's note help me? Should I contact the airport and ask?
  20. I'm officially 30 lbs down since January Celebrating this victory today!
  21. I started my pre-op very low-calorie diet on 10/20 and have to do it until 11/22. I'm doing fine on it, but the only thing is I'm not losing weight as quickly as I was initially and I'm not going to the bathroom as much as I need to. I called my nutritionist to see if there's anything I can take to help my BMs but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. Does anyone have any advice please?
  22. Thank you @ChiakiAngel! I'm just concerned that if I don't get down to a certain weight by my surgery date that I'll have a hard time getting to my overall target weight. I know better than to get hung up on numbers but I'm also just really frustrated that I'm eating so little and not seeing the scale move anymore.
  23. I used this site to figure out the likelihood of getting to 160 and it said "20%" so we'll see! https://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-bypass/how-much-can-i-expect-to-lose
