November sleevers here
I met with my surgeon and he wants me to focus on getting back to 1200 calories a day or less. It turns out I gained a few lbs over the three months since my last weigh in. Time to reign it back in and get back to tracking.

I have my one-year post-op check-in appointment with my surgeon tomorrow. I haven't lost any weight since my last weigh-in, but I've been putting on a LOT of muscle working out since August so I'm trying not to feel too badly about it. How's everyone doing?

Help, I'm hungry AGAIN!
Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm eating a 220 calorie Nourish Bowl (veggies) right now and I just put some sugar-free Welch's flavoring in my water. I sincerely appreciate your support!

Help, I'm hungry AGAIN!
Hi Bariatric Pals, I'm coming up on my one-year-surgiversary (11/22) and I'm already feeling hungry all the time. I wasn't expecting to feel hungry this soon after surgery. I was under the impression I wouldn't feel hungry for YEARS after surgery, but here I am feeling hungry all the time less than a year post-op. It's concerning to me because I haven't lost any weight in the last month and a half and I feel just as hungry as I used to feel before surgery. How do I manage my hunger properly? I know I don't drink enough water and I could probably track my food a bit more. I have been indulging in bad food lately, too. I try to drink protein shakes but I just don't like them. I prefer savory food. Should I start from the beginning and try to just eat 800 cals? Should I go back to the very low calorie diet I had to do for a month before surgery? I've called my nutritionist and asked her for advice but she hasn't really said anything beyond "make sure you're eating enough protein and eating small meals throughout the day." I've even asked her if I should follow the "reset" diet and she doesn't seem to have any preference one way or the other. I eat a small meal or snack with a lot of protein every 2 hours and I get full fast - it still doesn't take much for me to feel full, thank goodness. I just get hungry more often, especially at night before bed. Any advice?

So far I've worn three different costumes for Halloween this year: bat, skanky pirate and Robin Hood!

I need some tough love. I'm 11 months post op and I haven't lost any weight in nearly a month. I know exactly why - it's because I'm overeating. I'm not gaining weight, just maintaining. I'm probably overeating because I'm not consuming enough protein. I have tons of protein shakes but I'm never in the mood to drink them. I could use a pep talk - I just want to buckle down and eat what I'm supposed to eat!

Had a weigh-in yesterday on my 9-month surgiversery - happy to report that I've lost 81 pounds in total (including my pre-op weight loss) and met the 9-mos goal my bariatric team set for me! Over the next 3 months, they want me to lose another 15-20 lbs. It feels daunting but I know I can do it as long as I keep up the new habits I've adopted over the last year.

I have a weigh-in today and I'm really nervous about it. They want me to be under 231 by today and at my home scale, i weighed in at 229! But I know the doctor's scale is a few pounds off and might say i'm at 231. I need to not stress about it. I should be really proud of the progress I've made instead of beating myself up for "only" losing 11 pounds in the last 2 months. Any words of encouragement or advice for worrying less about the number on the scale?

NSV I want to share - I went out for brunch with friends on Sunday morning and I ordered a healthy little side dish even though I realllllly wanted a big ass omelette. But I made a commitment to stop eating out as much and to only order something really small if I have to eat out. I'm really proud of the choices I've been making lately!

Well hi there! Thanks for swinging by and saying hello! I havent hear of any of us November 2017 sleevers planning a RNY conversion for September, but that's very exciting! I also did 4 weeks for my pre-surgery diet and it made a huge difference. We're all about 8 months out now. I've personally lost 79 lbs and want to lose another 71 over the next 9 months. If you have any questions or need help finding a thread with September RNY folks, let us know :).

I'm feeling a lot better and a lot more motivated now. Have been sticking with my diet and discovering new low-calorie, high-protein foods. Just tried bone broth for the first time - it's not bad. Definitely needs seasoning. Scale is starting to move again. Still feeling like my goal weight is super unattainable, but I know it'll just take time.
