  1. I’ve gained 34 in 2020 (Covid) and i obviously have not gotten a handle on the emotional eating.

i had only lost 100 lbs with the sleeve (which was 50%) of the total I needed to loose to get to the ideal weight my dr suggested .. then it plateaued after 1.5 - 2 Yrs and dr said that’s great and that the honeymoon was over I needed to focus on maintaining from here.
The support from the clinic hère ands after 2 years and I have not found any help or know what to do to get back on track since Covid started

With working from home, the added stress of an unsupportive co-parent for my special needs son, im spinning and I’m worried to put on the rest ....

Sorry for the rant.. I’m scared and I’m so worried

  2. My 11month follow up last week....as much as it went well and was excited to have reached -100 1 month early... they bummed me out by telling me that this was it!!! If I want to loose more I would need bypass .... I’m not done yet .. I still have 70 lbs more to loose . What a day .. I left so bummed. (Was sleeves October 18,2017)
    Any thoughts anyone??

  3. Sleeved October 2017 and was on a waiting list since 2013 .., being 42 I do wish I would have been able to do it sooner ... I think if everything I missed out on .. but I can’t dwell on that now as the past is the past!! I am grateful that I got it now.
With 96 down and 80 to go I’m at a plateau and hope I can get back on track .. honeymoon is over and all is back to what it was !!! The carb cravings are back , I can eat more then I should, drinking with meal doesn’t hurt barely anymore... I’m panicked a bit as I fear to gain back what I worked so hard to loose. I’m back here for accountability and support .

  4. I’m down 97 since surgery (oct 2017) still 80 to go ... I’ve hit a stall and am able to tolerate all and any foods .. honeymoon is over ... now the real hard work begins as all the carb cravings are back !! I am glad that since October 2017 I still was able to keep off pop , coffee, and cigarettes.... I can feel my stomach stretched back out as I noticed I can eat bigger portions and able to drink Water with meal with minimal pain ( not good) .. I’m catching myself snacking and making excuses. So I’m back here after being away for 6 months looking for accountability and support.

  5. Are you taking any medication for nausea ? I’m only one day post op but when I told my surgeon about my strong gag reflex and how my body and appetite completely shun food/drinks specially Water, he prescribed me with weeks worth of nausea meds that I’ll put under my tung.

i’m also told to alternate between things, Protein Shakes, water, watered down purées, then Protein shakes etc etc..
i hope you are doing better and good luck to you and all of us

I’m up to 32 oz of water on a good day

  6. 10/18/17 and down 62... just thought I’d check up and see how everyone is doing ... my 1st follow up was after 6 weeks and my 2nd follow up is March 31 ..hoping for good results.. I’m still struggling with getting more then 24 oz of Water per day and needs to get active .. treadmill died 5 weeks post op and so has my motivation...

I am glad to see everyone is doing well

  7. I have been rrelly lucky to be able to consume food and Water without any problems since the surgery and I don’t have any wounds at all now. It has completely healed. Water is not an issue at all and I can drink 5 16 oz bottle per day with ease

How long since your surgery? Did you gradually reach that amount , if so how long did it take?

  8. No.. I'm 4 months out and just started hitting it consistently

Did you have any medical issues because you weren’t able to do the 64 oz?
Prior to surgery and my whole life I was lucky to get 24oz and now at 6 weeks post-op I’m just starting to get 24oz and can’t and can’t even imagine being able drinking more like 64 oz !!! And it has me worried.
How did you build up to it?

  9. I’m 6 weeks post op and feeling great. Have no issues with any food or dumping. Eat 6 meals a day. Small bites and get full quite fast.im not having any issue getting 80 oz of Water a day. 60 grams of Protein a day and record everything I eat through the app Biactrics as reccomended by my NUT. I am back working out at 5 am every morning like I was prior to my surgery. Best decision in my life to undergo this transformation

    Wow 80 oz of water
    Congrats on your progress

  10. Hi all. Just had my Sleeve surgery on Monday and already very happy about it. The home health nurse is coming out today to check on me. But wanted to ask you all if you were able to get ALL of your 64 ounces of fluids in everyday. So far I’m only up to about 35oz five days out? I have increased over the last couple of days but no way I can do the total amount yet????

Im 6 weeks out and can’t seem to get more then 24oz
And the last couple days been feeling nauseous in the morning... having my first check up next week.

  11. Well I am sitting in the hospital getting iv fluids . I am dehydrated from being so nauseated and this morning was dry heaving . I haven’t been able to get in anything the last few days

This is my Journey to Joy !

I’ve been nauseous and a bit light headed in the morning the last couple days ... because of this I can’t seem to start my Water or food till later (presently on week 6 and only can get 24 oz of water per day
    Any suggestions?

  12. Contacted my nutritionist because eating twice a day was no longer enough so now I am eating basically 5 times and I start today. Here is my Monday meal plan; breakfast 7:30-8:30 two egg whites (actual eggs not the type you buy in a carton) with 30 grams of tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and green Beans as options with half a slice of wheat toast. From 10a-12n a cup of fruits apple, peach and cucumber. 1 to 3pm 30 grams of grilled chicken with 1/3 of a grilled nopal with half a cup of white rice which I substituted with black rice. 5p to 6p a cup of sugarless Jello. 8p to 9p a cup of fruit, banana, apple, pear and melon. All this with 2 liters of Water being consumed throughout the day along with 30-45 minutes of moderate walking from Monday to Saturday.

How’s the new diet going? Any issues? Any issues getting your water in (2L)?
Are you on stomach pills (acid reflux)?

  13. They aren't concerned about you getting less than 20oz of Fluid a day?
Well, you should become familiar with what dehydration feels like.. dark urine, confusion, and dizziness. When you stand up, you'll get light-headed, and may have an interruption in vision or hearing. You should be urinating at least 4 times a day.
People that don't drink much preop are still eating food, and carbohydrates provide the body with some amount of Water during the digestion process. Postop, we aren't eating, so our only source of water is the fluids we drink.

Yes you are correct.. they didn’t show concern, they just told me to keep trying ...
As for dehydration... yup I know it!! Which is why I had called them. I seem to get more water in at night (8/16 oz) .. I feel nauseous when trying to get my water in the am or mid day ( not sure why)
All I can do is think positive and keep trying !!!

  14. I contacted my dr and they didn’t seem concerned... get just said to keep trying to get my Water in . My first check up is on post-op week 6 (dec7th)

Prior to surgery I was lucky if had 24oz of water per day... Never was a big water drinker. With only little sips it makes it hard to get my 24 oz in... warming the water does help.

As for the waters mentioned above , I don’t think we have those here .. why would those be better ? Do they have Vitamins too in them?

  15. Im struggling with Water intake too.. lucky if I get 16-20 oz. and for thé last week seem to struggle with food intake too... so far I’ve noticed that if I warm the water it doesn’t hurt as bad.. ( that’s how I get the 16/20oz) I’m averaging 50-55 g of Protein per day.. (only due to shakes) as food is harder to eat this past week for some reason ... I was sleeved 18/oct/2017 and have lost 12 lbs since surgery...my 1 st follow up with the dr is on week 6 ( dec 7th)....
Feeling a bit bummed and insecure

  16. Still on purée , pain was starting to go away (which made me happy) then randomly came back still trying to figure out if pain is surgery related or bowel related (near hernia) ...just walking around the house is a chore... I’m hungry all the time and when I eat my purée it seems to get stuck and hurts.. I know it is all temporary but as of today I’m a bit bummed
Sorry if it seems gloomy .. I’m just struggling as my 4 year old needs his mom and being almost 30 days out ... I feel bad/useless and really missing his super squeeze hugs!!!

Update: just got back from hospital, appears the new pain Im having is possibly from a pulled muscle on my left side!!! I hope they are right and that it gets better soon. Stairs , sitting , getting up, reaching causes sharp pain below all my incisions.

  17. So how is it going for you?
