Wow, this is great! Thanks everyone! Let's see who else we can connect with in the MFP community!

Hey All!
Just curious to see if there are other MFP folks who might want to connect on there for support as well? I know the community encouragement goes a long way in terms of motivation and success!
Feel free to add me: mesaint

I personally get extremely depressed and emotional the week before my period, even while on BC. It didn't happen like this before surgery. I haven't done anything about it, but being aware at least helps me kind of prepare for that time when it comes.
I definitely think going off and then going back on birth control for the surgery played a big part. I feel like I had things in check in terms of moods and whatnot before (I'd been on BC for years with no interruption), but I feel like it's the mixture of the pills and also the extreme changes my body is going through. It just seems, I don't know... amplified? I mean, a 40lb weight loss in a month and a half has to make an impact, right??

Hi All,
I've noticed that since I was sleeved, my hormones have been ALLLLLL over the place. It's really not fun. Has anyone else experienced this? Anything you've done about it? Thanks!

Yes! I was sleeved 11/21 and I lost 29lbs quickly. But for almost two weeks now I haven’t lost a thing. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to do. But, so many people on here and in my support group say this is perfectly normal and can last a few weeks and to try not to be discouraged. So, I’m trying, haha, and just working the plan. Hope that helps!
IT SO DOES! Ha! Thank you! I know about stalling, but it's been like... three weeks. Harumph.
We've got this though

Feeling like I lost a lot of weight very quickly, and now it's a slow crawl. I had my surgery on 11/20--anyone else experience this?

Anyone know where to buy some good low carb wonton wrappers for air fryer stuff?

I wouldn't say it's crazy strong, but I'm definitely hungrier more often. I got mine done on 11/20, and I've noticed an uptick for sure. I find that once I start eating, it goes away really quickly. Like, I'll make a delicious meal that I really want to eat, take two bites, and pack the rest for lunch! I admit though, I got nervous when I felt hungry because I kept hearing that I just wouldn't be hungry at all, and I thought something was wrong. Not at all--just part of the process

But that's so exciting! Once the weight starts coming off, you won't care about that potluck food at all

They're not overly spicy and I plan to bring them again to family Christmas. For 2 meatballs, I calculated 173 cal, 15 g Protein, 14 g carb, 1 sugar and 5 g fat.

AMAZING! Thank you! This will be perfect

You know, I had that thought almost immediately after I posted it, so I checked the list (which was put up by my group while I was out for my surgery... we're planners, ha) and someone's already doing pulled pork. Harumph. It sounds great, but not making it myself and not knowing what the sauce is on it will probably rule that out :/

My team at work is very... food-centric. I knew this before, and I've been doing a phenomenal job sticking to only eating what I bring. I'm almost four weeks post-op, and I didn't tell the majority of people at work (except my bosses), as I really feel like its no one else's business. But I knew it would happen sooner than later... there's a potluck scheduled for next week! Any ideas on what I can bring that I'll be able to eat but that everyone else also might enjoy? Ultimately, what I don't want is a bunch of questions about why I'm not consuming the way I used to or bringing something that everyone else won't enjoy... help!

Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app
Nope! Mine said nothing at all about it. I've seen others within this site talking about this brand, so I gave it a whirl!

Can you make hot chocolate with chips, would it be decent? I tried making my own with cocoa powder and splenda, and it was extremely bitter and disgusting
Hmm... maybe if you add skim milk while it's melting in the pot? I'll play around with that as well and let you know! Maybe putting some unflavored Protein in it will be better?

The Lily's that I ordered came in the mail today--the nutrition facts are FAB, and the serving size is 60 chips, which is FAR more than I could even potentially eat at this point. I tried a couple of chips, let them melt, enjoyed them, and seem to tolerate them well! I've always been much more of a salty snack than sweet fan, but as a person who really digs baking and wants to incorporate healthier ingredients, I think this will work out nicely! sugar free (stevia sweetened), low carb, low calorie, low fat...

I'm about three weeks post op, but just getting ready...
I bought some Lily's chocolate baking chips (I'd read about them on here). Curious to see what's people's reactions have been to consuming chocolate post-sleeve, when you had it for the first time, and if there are any other kinds out there to recommend?

So I was sleeved on 11/20 and I've dropped about 30lbs so far! Very VERY happy with my results thus far, but the last 3-4 days I've noticed that my scale is at a standstill.
Now, I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day, and I know that stalls are normal, but being that it's so early in my weight loss journey, I'm wondering if there are any tips or tricks that would help to accelerate loss at this point? It's tough because I'm consuming around 500 calories a day still (hitting my protein/fluids targets) and I feel like I can't take in much more than that!

..
I have 51lbs to go. Knowing I've lost more than I have to lose makes me believe I will get there one day. And I've said to myself there is no rush. Id like to be at my goal by 12-18 months but im aware the loss gets slower as you get closer.
It's still surreal to think one day I may be in a 'normal' weight bracket.
It's not been a smooth journey for my health not related to the sleeve. But I'm great full for the sleeve curing my high blood pressure and making me more confident. I didn't think I'd look much different between 244 and 186 but people already treat me differently like I'm in a new body.
I am alot saggier than I imagined I'd be. My tummy my butt thighs and top of my arms but I don't mind so much.
Just thought I'd share my experience.. I'm.one of the people that doubted it would work for.me. as nothing else did !
It's odd to say that I'm in a stage were it's so much easier. I don't feel I'm dieting. It's not hard for me to follow my plan seeing my amazing results.. and it's never been easier. When I used to diet I'd starve and struggled. But I'm eating healthy and living my life.
Congratulations, that's amazing! Which app are you using there?

It's both! That's MyFitnessPal--there's both an app and a web-based version.

Hey All! I went into surgery at 299, and today I'm at 250! Almost hitting the big 50--likely in the next couple of days. Feeling AWESOME! Lots of energy, feeling focused. I'm back to the gym 5-6 days a week, sleeping better, not dependent on coffee anymore. I can't believe how great I feel. Hands down the best decision I've ever made!
