  1. I did not know how bad my acid stomach was before the surgery. Whenever I felt that gnawing in my gut I ate to stop it, even if I wasn't too hungry. After surgery I had the same feeling and it scared me. I thought I went through all of this and It didn't work !!!! My doctor put me on an anti acid 20 Mg twice a day and it stopped. I know longer feel that horrible feeling and I do not feel hunger at all. I eat by the clock so I can try to make protein goals.

  3. I have heard that you need to have enough protein to be able to burn fat. How is your protein intake ?
  4. Same with me.... had mine the 17th and no go yet ....talked with the nutritionists today and they said use miralax and Benefiber ?
  5. I seem to have a heightened sense of smell and taste since the surgery. Some things I can not stand to smell or eat anymore.
  6. I have struggled with that since the 3rd day of the pre surgery diet I had my surgery October 17th and hardly have eaten anything since. A little broth, some jello and water. I have lost 21 pounds but not the healthy way. My skin looks aged and dimpled I do not like any milk or milky type products. No yogurt I have texture issues as well. Today I decided to try some things that were not on my list. First, oatmeal with unflavored protein powder. Got a few bites of that down. Will work on it again tomorrow. Instead of eating plain broth I made my own in the crockpot. Put some meat and veggies and cooked them until falling apart. Put it in the blender and pulverized it. I put protein powder in with it and had success eating it. Maybe 5 baby spoon bites. What a difference in my energy level !!!
  7. Developing a sore lump on my left from side shoulder / arm area 5 day post op. Getting progressively more sore as the day goes on. Haven't lifted anything. Anyone ever heard of this after surgery ?
  8. That is an awesome accomplishment [emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417]
  9. Nystatin is an anti fungal. Sometimes if you have to take antibiotics you can get thrush in your mouth so that maybe why
  10. Good luck to you. My surgery is at the same time. I have to be there at 5:15 am to be prepped. And 7:30 my life will change for the better ...I hope and [emoji120]
  11. I am struggling a bit. I have not been eating much at all except jello and pudding. Everything else turns my stomach. I had major belly cramps last night and barely made it to the bathroom. I wasn't sure if it was because of my diet or that I was exposed earlier this week to a stomach virus. I came into brief contact with someone I later found out they had a 24 hour type of stomach virus. I do not want to postpone my surgery and have to do this liquid diet over again. I am hoping all will be ok by the morning tomorrow. I have to be there 5:15 am. I am nervous about the cutting part. I had four kids without medication but I never had surgery before. Good Luck nod Blessing for your surgery tomorrow [emoji120]
  12. My husbands incisions were really red when he was leaving the hospital. I asked them to double check them. They did and said that it was normal especially the one were they pulled the specimen ( stomach) out. They also said if it got worse, except for possible bruising causing it, to call them. They healed a little each day until no more red.
  13. I haven't tried it yet but I was told peanut butter protein powder mixed with either skim milk or water and crushed ice is good. I don't like milk or dairy products so I will try the water. I am struggling with finding something to take away the hunger [emoji850]
  14. I was scheduled for the 18th of October. Today they called today to ask if I wanted to change it to the 17th. I said YES. Now the anxiety is kicking in. I know it is the right thing for me to do but I hate the thought of having to be cut. I have always been squeamish about that kind of thing. What are your fears ?
  15. Good Luck tomorrow ! I am right behind you on the 17th !
  16. My surgery is on October 18th. I will be starting my pre surgery liver shrink diet on the 11th. Any suggestions about how to make smoothies or anything I can eat without milk, yogurt or eggs ?
