1. Sorry for the loss of your sister... You've done an amazing job!! Congrats...
2. WOW.. I don't know.. sorry.. maybe you can call and ask them?? Do they have any explanations on their website??
3. So, I've been pretty bombed out lately... a plethora of issues, problems, challenges... you name it!! But, I was just sitting here thinking how grateful I am to be in the midst of a great, life changing, amazing experience!!! It's one that will actually lead me to knowing myself more and more!!! I mean, I can actually walk around for HOURS!!! I stand on my feet as a karaoke DJ for 4 hours each wednesday, walking around greeting customers, checking equipment, etc.. and still get up 4 hours later to teach 5 classes... on my feet!!!! I'm so grateful to have my life back and to have great aspirations for summer vacation that aren't marred by fears of not fitting in plane seats and being near a heart attack while walking through the outlet malls in DMV.... I mean.. WOW!!! Regardless of the challenge you are having right now, the fear that you won't ever get this right or the dread that the weight is coming back (it's not)... take a minute and think..... What can you do now that you couldn't do before surgery?? What goals can you see yourself achieving that seemed impossible before you decided on the sleeve? Are you worth getting over the mistakes of yesterday or today and taking advantage of the brand new moment, day and opportunity that is presenting itself right now? Have you taken the time to applaud yourself for taking this leap of faith and awesome journey?? If not, do it NOW!!! Finally, have you taken the time to enjoy your journey, moment by moment?? The good, bad, tears, laughter... these things make it real, worth it and an incredible story to share with those who are on the fence, those who will never have the courage to do it and those who are struggling just a little... Remember, it's a journey, not a race... It's your journey and not a competition!!!! Love and hugs Fam!! Tina
4. Congrats!! I'm so proud of you!!!
5. Keep trying.. Don't give up!!!!! You will get the sleeve!!!
6. I'm 318 this AM... not looking good for sub 300 for Memorial Day... but, I'm okay... not stalled anymore!!!!
7. I have one... it's not bouncy like a regular trampoline...
8. Awesome job!!!!
9. Yeah.. he can be a little... insensitive, but he's an excellent surgeon and they have excellent results!!! I think I'm just extra sensitive too... in fact, my BP was elevated because I was so anxious about the visit.. LOL... I'm going to try what he suggested... besides supplementing w/ my Protein drinks on my workout days.. I'll let you guys know the results.. I feel better today... just trying to stay positive and accept yesterday as a little bump in the road on my journey to goal!!! I appreciate you guys so much!!!
10. Awesome job!!!! Congratulations!
11. Dr. Cahill is my surgeon as well... I was in there yesterday for a post-op visit and it was PACKED!!! He has surgeries earlier and was running a little late...
12. Thanks for responding to this... I just read it and remembered to smile!!! My surgeon wasn't at all pleased with my progress!!! He isn't big on bedside manner either... he wasn't rude..just him!! LoL... I will be fine tomorrow!!! Gotta let the anxiety from the visit wear off!! But the waiting area was filled to capacity w/ people.. It was cool to able to encourage several of them... I even got a few hugs!!! LoL I attached a picture from Monday... my students thought I looked cute and suggested a photo op!!!.. too bad she didn't know how to use my camera phone!! LoL
13. Thanks guys, you're awesome!!! My NP was pleased w/ the fact that I lost inches... my surgeon however, wasn't happy at all!!! He told me to space my meals by 5 hours, not to eat soft foods, no snacking at all, and to double up on my ppi... Before he said all that, he was like, what are you doing wrong??? I really DIDN'T need to hear that question, as I ask myself that daily!! I am extremely hard on myself and I have this thing about failure that's dogging my heels.. I've been extremely emotional since seeing him....because I feel like I'm doing the best I can w/ very little to show for it... I know feeling better and being able to do things I haven't been able to do in years are great victories.... but getting the pounds off is what matters, at least in the surgical world... I'm just in a very interesting space right now.... I want to drink Water and eat ice only for the rest of the year!!!! I appreciate you guys for letting me be honest and get this out.... whew!!!! I know tomorrow is another opportunity to switch things up and try to get more weight off... Good thoughts and prayers are appreciated!! Love and hugs
14. So, I'm here for a post-op visit and a few pre-op patients were talking.. we just started talking about reasons for surgery and how I was doing.... it was so encouraging to share and have someone thank me for sharing my story, struggles and victories!!! Made me appreciate you guys even more as well!!!!
15. Awesome job!!! That happened to me today too!!! You are doing an awesome job!!!
16. Great job!! What kind of food/exercise plan are you following??!!
17. Congrats!! That's so awesome!!! Blessings and best wishes!!!
18. You guys are awesome and so encouraging... I have decided to take this week and focus on my workouts and keep my Protein up/carbs down... and we'll see.. No formal tracking, just letting Sleevina do her thing!! I'll let you all know the results!!! In the meantime, I have to mentailly prepare for my dr. appt on Thursday!! LOL...
19. WELCOME!!!! This forum is a awesome resource!! It can become addictive!! LOL... Getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I could have made... I'm not dropping huge amounts of pounds, but I'm 60lbs from my highest weight, lost about 40 since surgery.. but I've gone from a 30/32 to mostly 22s... I feel so much better!!!!! Best wishes!!!
20. I use MFP, I track every morsel... I think that's part of my problem!! I get OCD about it... I'm pretty good about eating what I'm supposed to .. I think I need to increase my Protein.. I haven't change my caloric intake since I started working out more... I think I'll try that... I'm definitely not complaining.. Lord knows I feel so much better... I just want to get to that 75-100 weight loss... LOL.. Shoot, 76 pounds in 2 months is AMAZING! Thanks guys for the encouragement and suggestions... Gotta hit the gym after work!!!
21. Oh, one more thing.... My crazy NP, doesn't care about inches... she's all about pounds!!! LOL.. she gets on my nerves and I have to see her Thursday!!!
22. I'm trying very hard not to just NOT EAT!!!! OMG!!! I workout 3 times a week at the gym and I walk... With the amount of calories that I take it, one would think I would be losing 3-4 pounds per week.. WELL, I'm NOT!!! I'm trying to be okay with this...because I'm definitely losing inches and sizes.... It's such a mental struggle though, when the scale isn't moving.. yet, the only things in my wardrobe that fit are my earrings!!! I will keep working out, keep eating when I'm supposed to (eventhough I'm tempted often to skips meals in hopes that I can have a massive poundage drop!!).... I know that's unhealthy and unwise.. I feel great physically... I can stand and walk for hour... I can fit in plastic patio furniture and I don't wear the largest size in Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant any more!!! I just needed to share my frustrations.... Suggestions, advice, experiences welcomed!!! Thanks...
23. Yes, you have!!!! Digging the profile pic!! Go GIRL!!!
24. WOW Chris!! Awesome, awesome job!!!! What meal/exercise plan do you follow?? How has it changed from the 3-6 months out??
