My nurse/pt. coord. told me to have my last drink today, got my Mirena taken out yesterday, I have to drink 2 protein/meal replacement drinks per meal, water, broth, sf popsicles, whatever flavoring I want to put in my water... I can't STAND sf stuff.. it has an aftertaste and most times are too sweet.. so, I have to plan the next 5 weeks of my life to a tee (pre-op, 2 wk clear liq, 2 wk full liq)

I'm grateful I only have a 7 day pre-op diet... UGH!!! GEEZ!!!

I was told this evening that I could use a straw after two weeks...Not because of any complication/issues, but they want me to get used to sipping first and not drinking too fast w/ my new tummy!!!

Oh my goodness!!! I'm the kind of person who doesn't need a lot of notice for major stuff.. because I freak out!! LOL... but, I'm ready for this... I'm just trying to take it one day at a time... but... OH LORDY, I wish it would happen already!!!

So, this evening, after a fun filled karaoke event sponsored by my vocal ensemble at school, I rushed out to my pre-op class (after singing Proud Mary for 8 minutes!!)... Got there and got lots of info.. Including that fact that my surgeon has decided NOT to perform surgeries after Christmas like I was told he would back in October.. UGH!! So, I was preparing like I would be sleeved Dec. 26.. WELL, looks like I've be sleeved a week from Monday, Dec. 19th, if my insurance approval comes through early next week (I'm believing it will) COME ON BCBS-IL!!! This would mean that this weekend marks the last days of a regular diet and decreasing the time I have to prepare final exams, grades and lesson plans for my students!!! (I'm taking the month of January off of work!!) I have to tell my admin that I may be leaving a week earlier than initially planned.. I'm excited, but also a little anxious because things are happening so fast...I don't feel like I'm ready!!! I'm also in the middle of a refi, small remodel and purchasing furniture!! LOL.. CRAZY time!! I'm hopeful that everything will fall into place and I will be home for Christmas, sipping on some broth, enjoying Sleevus (my sleeve's name) and watching Miracle on 34th Street!!!! I have to get to the store and finish purchasing my broths, Protein drinks and last minute items.. OMG! I need all of the prayers and good thoughts I can get..

This is one of those times when you just nod, let the other person spew their mindless, meaningless mess and you tell yourself, I'M DOING A DARN GOOD JOB!! You don't have to respond to that now or EVER... Look at where you started and the amount of amazing work you've done!!! That's her opinion, a bad one.. but hers... She should not have spoken to you that way, no matter how much weight you lost!!! Just unprofessional!!! Keep up the amazing work!!! Be sure to give a written complaint about Nurse "I Don't Know Jack"!!!
