    No goal weight?

I didn't have a goal weight my goal was to lose enough weight to have hip replacements and any more was a bonus.

    Married with WLS

I think my marriage has got better than before surgery because I can do more with my husband, He thinks it is funny with the questions he is asked from whether I am alright and not sick to who his younger girlfriend is, I think it all in the way you think about things.
  3. Hi I had hip replacement surgery six months after my gastric bypass and went off vitamins a week before surgery and had no side affects from not taking them I was off them for about two weeks as I was in hospital for a week and didn't take them until I got home.
  4. I went for a bypass because I didn't think a sleeve would work for me, I looked at both options for a long time and in the end every one has different reasons for choosing one or the other, I needed two hip replacements, My starting weight was 338lbs. and I am now 176 lbs in 15 months. I have no problems with dumping syndrome or Absorption I take vitamins every day which isn't that bad and my last blood test was good. I am very happy with my decision and feel a lot healthier and happier.

    Weight fluctuations

    I maintain a 2kg bounce weight
  6. I have been obese off and on since childhood, I never saw myself as being that big until I had to have hip replacements then I had to face the fact that I was obese. I lost 160lbs in one year, so your weight loss is good, the mind plays a lot of tricks on you I am still getting use to the fact I can pick a pair of jeans off the rack and have to go back for a smaller size because they are to big, I don't know what the sizing is there but in New Zealand I have gone down seven sizes from a 30 to a 16 or 6xl to a L or xl so I am still getting used to it. I got asked what my goal weight was and I told my goal was to get two hip replacements and anything after that was a bonus so I had them seven months ago and have lost 37 lbs since then so I am happy would like to loose some more so if it happens it happens I am a lot happier than this time last year, good luck on your journey. What I find amusing is people who wouldn't talk to you before now talk to you and others you know don't also friends you haven't seen for a while don't recognize you for a start, I was on crutches for two years and couldn't drive for ten months so I didn't see a lot of people for a while.

    BYPASS QUESTIONS HELP

You might have to watch the shakes I couldn't stand them afterwards they made me feel sick, your tastes change I used to love chicken before the operation and couldn't eat it afterwards, i am just starting to be able to eat it now, I went I to dinner the other night before a show, had half a burger and was full got asked if I would like to have my stomach back to be able to finish it I said no to that, I wish I had done it years ago and have never regretted it, even when you can't eat as much of the foods you love.

    BYPASS QUESTIONS HELP

Hi Mike, I had a full bypass on the 21/11/17, I was on purred food at two weeks and on Christmas day I was on mashed food, I never had any discomfort as such only when I ate to fast or to much. It took me about seven months before I didn't have to remind myself to eat food and even today there are days when I have to remember. The portions differ for everyone I only eat three meals a day because if I have snacks I tend not to eat meals because I am not hungry, The vitamins I take are Nutrichew chewable multi-vitamin, Calcium & vitamin D3 twice daily And B12 chewable once a day. I lost 73 kgs in one year almost to the day. I have had no problems with the bypass and wondered if the surgeon had even done the operation because I didn't feel any different except I wasn't hungry or interested in food. I didn't have any pain from the operation, I had my operation in Christchurch, New Zealand.

    Arthritis pain, bad knees

I had a gastric bypass because I needed two hip replacements, I was on ibuprofen regularly before surgery plus Tramadol, I had to stop the ibuprofen before surgery I stiffened up quite a bit, I don't think the pain level got any worst, I have a high pain tolerance so when I feel pain there is something wrong. It took me six months to get my hips replaced and I have never regretted having the bypass and not a sleeve. I was on crutches for two years before I had my hips done, The doctors didn't believe they were that bad.
  10. Hi I was obese off and on since early childhood, I had a gastric bypass on November the 21st 2017 My starting weight was 338 lbs and my weight today is 195 lbs. My hunger disappeared after surgery and I don't think about food like I use to. I lost the weight without any exercise because I have two bad hips, I now have two hip replacements and I am looking forward to being able to do the things I couldn't. I choose a bypass over a sleeve because I didn't think a sleeve would work for me.

    Second thoughts

It is normal to have second thoughts, but once you have had surgery you will wish you had done it sooner. I have told a lot of people because I don't care what they think and I haven't had any negative feedback, even had friends walk pass me not recognizing me, I find it funny. The only second thoughts I had was when I woke from surgery and thought what have I done but that was the time. I don't regret having it at all.
  12. Yes I am happy with going with a bypass I have lost 68lbs since surgery in November and haven't had any problems, The only thing I have noticed is that I use to love chicken now I can't stand it. I went for abypass because I need a double hip replacement and I am now getting them replaced on June the 5th and looking forward to pain and crutch for once in four years.
  13. I decided on a bypass before I even saw the surgeon because I didn't think a sleeve would work for me,I didn't think it would restrict my eating like a bypass, my surgeon said a sleeve but I said a bypass and he was fine with that.

Hi, I had my surgery on 11/21, I only had gas pain for the first night, but I have a high pain threshold so I haven,t had any pain, I am on blood thinner for 4 weeks and I haven't had any problems with them only the bee sting feeling after they are injected
  15. I can't wait to be able to play with the grand kids and be able to take them places. Without crutches. and not being in pain all the time.
