I also love my air fryer! There are so many different things you can make in it!! I got mine from my work and bought the large one since I have a family. It is the Cooks Companion brand.

So I had to do a sleep apnea test last night. It is my final test before my surgery. I was allowed to do an at home study. Problem is I couldn't sleep. I slept maybe 3 - 4 hours. Is that enough for them to be able to get results?

Congrats that is great!!!

So did any of you start a workout routine before surgery? Do you think it helped with a more speedy recovery? I went and joined a gym yesterday and am having surgery in December.

Definitely tell him. He may not realize that or he may but better safe than sorry.

So I am starting to research and try out Protein powders & drinks so that I know what I like and don't like. And don't waste a ton of money on. Going to start trying them before my surgery which is in December. I would love recommendations. So what I am looking for is pre-made Protein Drinks, and powder protein where you make the drinks yourself. So I would love to know what your favorite is and of course what not to waste money on. I am sure a similar thread has been done before but here it is again :-) Thanks for your help!!!

I have a friend who had her surgery at Methodist and had good results. Must be exciting that it’s finally almost here! I’m Megan from St. Paul. I’ll be having my surgery at United hospital probably April or May. It’s great to “meet “ others from Minnesota/ Twin Cities!
I am in St. Paul as well :-)

Please see your surgeon. I haven't had my surgery yet but have had two other stomach surgeries. With one I ended up septic and almost died. The other which was a gallbladder removal one of the small incisions got infected. It was like there was a hard lump under the incision and it got a bit swollen. Antibiotics and pain meds took care of that one.

As far as guys go, they are chasers out there that may not be attracted to me once the weight comes off but I will be healthy and happy and when the time comes to find a partner in life I will hopefully find one who wants me the way I am.
It is about me! I am doing this for myself and no one else. Its about my health and many other things that have accumulated up to at this point.

I know this is in the mens only but I am going to post anyways because I can! I am gay
A fear is that women tend to like more full figured women I am worried a little bit that I will get to skinny. Irrational yes I know.

46 minutes ago, karen_marie said:My NUT did say that the blended/pureed stage was usually the one that gave patients a harder time. Just stick with things that are kinda mushy or soft liquid to begin with, then blending them to a smoother consistency won't be really off-putting. For instance, make a basic chili with some sort of meat (or none) and Beans. Blending that from somewhat chunky to smooth shouldn't be gross haha Or even a simplified sloppy joe (sans bread) - ground turkey/lean beef and some low sugar or sugar fee sauce, blended smoother shouldn't be too weird. And both would give you good Protein (you can even add some non flavored Protein Powder to both). I know that @James Marusek has said he basically did chilis and Soups during his weight loss phase.
Thanks for the tip!! The puree stage is what has me most worried!

My turning point was this summer. We have a rather large speed boat. I am short. I was having problems getting in and out of it which never used to happen to me. And then we were on the lake and it was hard for me to get in and out of the boat even with the ladder. That was the point where I was like this has to change. Being out on the lake is my favorite place to be...

My attacks were bad. I would have severe abdomnal pain. The last attack before removal was so bad it brought me to the ground and I could not even get up for close to 30 minutes. Thats when we went to the hospital..

I have been thinking about doing this surgery for the past 3 years. Got my first referral from my dr. over 2 years ago. I was scared and never even followed through.. I was not ready then. Then over the summer I decided it was time. I a new referral and actually followed through this time. I started appointments in August. Now I feel like time is going so slow. I just want to start my new life. I meet with my dr. on Friday and am hoping to get an idea of when my surgery will be. I am crossing my fingers it will be soon. I have grown very impatient!

I just weighed myself and so far I have lost 16lbs since beginning this journey in August. How much did you lose before surgery? The main things I have changed is my eating. But to be honest I definitely slip up some days. But as a whole I am eating much healthier. I am trying to incorporate more exercise but I am just starting that now. What changes did you make to lose weight pre-surgery? BTW their is no requirement with my insurance of weight loss.

So how did your relationship change after WLS? I hear so many horror stories. I do worry that my significant other and I will drift because of this new life style and me wanting to be more active and other things that seem to change after wls.
