    Non refrigerated snacks

I just talked about this with my PA today she suggested Quest protein bars but cut them up in squares and keep them in a baggy so you can be aware of how much you eat

    Puree Ideas, Please!

I got an amazing pork tenderloin the other night cooked it to 145 degrees on the money sliced a bit off put it in the food processor and it was AMAZING!! I felt a bit more normal too because I was eating a similar meal to my family, and it pureed down to a mashed potato consistency maybe a bit looser

    Chapped lips

I don't use chapstick because it actually has drying agents so I use lip gloss the gloss gives the feeling of softness it typically is not absorbed into the skin and it acts as a barrier too

    8 weeks post op thursday

Don't get down on yourself you have already dropped 39 pounds that it an incredible feet. Don't forget that has you exercise you grow your muscles big and strong so that might mean you wont see a drop on the scale. The nice thing about this is that it will catch up because muscle loves to burn fat and eventually you will have enough muscle to kick your loss into high gear.
  8. I am not at a month post RNY just yet and all I have been released to do is walking, and I am doing it for someone who barely got 3000 steps before I am no averaging 5000 so I am pretty proud of myself. My question for all of you is what exercises did you start with? I see a lot of people who say that now they run marathons and are darn near experts at yoga but way back when, when you had just started out what did you do? What was the first thing after walking that you started with and how was it, how did it feel?

    Exercise

I swim all the time the swim suit thing is never really bothered me mainly because I competitive swam all the way up until my early twenties unfortunately though my doctor says that is off the table for a few months because they worry about leakage which one you think about it is incredibly gross because you happen to know what's in the pool water so think of that kind of seeping its way through your cuts and entering your internal body I mean that's really the stuff that nightmares is made of right

    4 weeks post op

Every body is so very different just stick to what the doctor is telling you, and I am sure this will pass. I know how frustrating it can be in the mean time but our bodies take time to adjust or have a period if your a woman or maybe they just want to swell for a few days whatever it is I have faith it will pass.

    Time off

I took 2 weeks I am a classic over doer and this time I absolutely refused to do that to my body so I took two grand weeks off I swore I would read and watch movies and I mainly drooled and walked around it was amazing

    Enough Calories??

I had surgery on the 9th and I am still getting under 500 calories daily that includes my protein and my 3 "meals" I mean not a lot of calories in an ounce of chicken. I am drinking 3 protein drinks a day 100 calories each (its muscle milk I know they are not that great for you but they haven't made me sick so we are sticking with them for now) and 60g of protein then I have 1 ounce of blended chicken, 1 ounce of blended tuna, and 1 ounce of chicken again the three of those add up to a little over a hundred calories and then I have a tbls of light mayo between the 3 "meals" and that's it.
  16. No with this Dr you are limited on the cottage cheese, yogurt and regular cheese. Like once a day then you can have a meat. I haven't heard anyone else on these boards talk about a diet like this at all so I am sure I get to be on the one in a million diet lol. I don't mind the blending its not like its a piece of raw chicken or something like tonight I am having pot roast I just put my portion in my pulverizor and away we go, tastes just like pot roast with a texture more like super mixed flakey tuna.
  17. Nope Dr wants us to move forward and learn how to listen to our new stomachs and you just cant do that with protein shakes. I can have eggs and if I didn't develop lactose intolerance I could have the cottage cheese and greek yogurt for the next two weeks
  18. It really depends on your Dr's diet for instance I am on the blended mushy stage and I cant have anything but protein no beans, no mashed vegies, no fruits, so for me it is a requirement but to be honest so far everything I have blended has been wonderful and I am only eating an ounce of it at a time for the next few weeks then I get to move to 1.5 ounces. For the next year I am on a solid protein diet.
  19. Gestating in your chin girl you are a riot and I love it sometimes all we can do is take a step back shake our heads and laugh at ourselves. I hope that this go around you find all the support that you need and that you get back to being healthy you

Today was great down 21 pounds in 2 weeks I can not even imagine how this is possible but woohooo takes my total to 31 pounds down I feel very good. The issue I thought might be cellulitis is nerve pain so we are going to do some pain meds for that and see if we can get the inflammation down woohooo. Gallbladder biopsies turned out normal so another great thing, and of course I was given the blessing to move onto mushy foods wooohooo yes I came home and had pulverized chicken with a bit of mayo that whole ounce was just wonderful the act of chewing alone was great, and now I wait my 30 mins to have water and take the med for the nerve pain. I hope everyone had a great day today!!!

  22. so we all complain about the protein but I am having an interesting issue so I am RNY Gastric Bypass my Dr. Requires Liquids for 2 weeks, post surgery which is right where I am at. I found out I am lactose intolerant woohoo for that but here is my bigger issue I gag with the protein shakes I take them in a 1oz shot if you will and I have to sip on it you guys no the drill and then I have to wait about 12 mins before I can have another. But I gag with every sip I have tried to water them down, under water them to get over with faster, rotated with "shots of water" how do you guys tolerate them help.
