  1. Tummy surgery is November 7th. I’m on my 6th day down 13 pounds for a total of 33 pounds. Today I’m freezing and tired.
  2. I started my journey in July, I’ve lost 30 pounds. I don’t have a required diet ore surgery other then 2 week liquid diet. I’m on day 3/14 lost 5.1 on that so far.
  3. You can buy smooth move tea at Walmart and Meijers in the tea and coffee isle.
  4. Also smooth move tea. I use that with my 12 year old along with miralx because she passes poop the size of pop cans. She has torn so many times. If we keep up with mirilax, stool softener and smooth move tea she does fine. I worry about the constapation too seeings I had perforated my bowel two years ago.
  5. I quit January 27, 2016 after almost dying with sepsis from a perforated bowel. I quit cold turkey. It wasn’t easy Bless you all trying to quit.
  6. My doctors tests for nicotine weeks before and the morning of surgery. If nicotine is found he will cancel.
  7. I’m allowed full liquids the day after being relased from surgery. So 3 days after surgery but my full liquid stage last for 4 weeks.
  8. I could barely walk just a few months ago at 385 pounds. I went to cooking low carb. Less then 20 carbs a day. I lost 23 pounds in 12 weeks but lost about 15 inches. I can actually walk with minimal pain.
  9. I have Medicare they don’t require a diet before. I had to do Psych psych eval, dietitian, endoscope, I had in the last 6 months a ekg so that was accepted by my doctor. I started in late July with my first visit and getting sleeved November 7th.
  10. I start my pre op diet tomorrow, surgery date of November 7th... we’ve got this.
  11. 2 week liquid diet starts tomorrow, I feel sorry for my family. I know I won’t be a nice person. Surgery is November 7th at 7:30am. I’m getting scared and have thought about actually canceling it.... I won’t but I have that urge to.

  13. It has been tight for me, I do have two insurances but decided to only use the one meaning I had co pays to pay out of pocket and 300. Nutritionist fees. Im a disabled, single mom. I’ve had to truely tighten the purse strings. To have this surgey. If you can find a good one local to you if you can. I have to drive 45 minutes away so that uses money too.
  14. My dr just asks that we double our chewables for a few months. Plus calcium citrate, D3,.
  15. I would call your Dr. my Dr said if we became more painful then what we were when released to make sure we call him.
  16. My doctors automatically puts one on you. You wear it home. It’s your choice on how long you wear it. But he says he has patients come in at 6 month checkup with it still on.
  17. Mine is Mountain Dew. I drink a lot less then what I was drinking and went to low carb diet and loss 24 pounds. Had my 3 hour pre op appointment today. Dr was pleasantly surprised at my weight loss and expects more when I get on the 2 week liquid diet. I quit caffeine tea about 2 months ago. Went decaf.
  18. I haven’t had my surgery yet, today was pre op appointments, I have to go off my ibuprofen two weeks before surgery. Can start them back up at 2-3 months as long as I’m on a ppi. But he preferred you not to go back on them.
  19. My pre op appointment is tomorrow, I get my blood work then. I usually have low potassium. I have to drive 45 minuets away to even get my blood work at my Drs perfered hospital.

  22. Mine was when my local doctors wouldn’t operate on me to clean sepsis out of my abdomen because our hospital isn’t equipped for someone my weight. (385). I was shipped to another hospital almost 4 hours away. Made it hard for my mom and my teenager to get there to see me, while I was almost dead from sepsis.
