Very true roadrunner. I am still struggling to get all my Protein in. I’m not hungry yet and I have developed an aversion to milky stuff. I’ve tried the unflavored powder but I can still taste the milkyness of the whey.
Nausea plagued me like it never has before [emoji37]. I’m 3 weeks out now. The doc is happy with my progress so I need to be too I guess.

Doing well. 2 weeks post op now. Taking it slow adding new foods in. I tried pancakes, made healthy with Protein Powder at an awesome restaurant. It puffed up inside my tummy I think and first time I threw up post op. [emoji30]. I’m loosing an average of a pound a day which is cool to see.

I am 3 days post op and still no BM. About when did everyone have theirs? When should I get worried? I’m not uncomfortable yet just want to be prepared.

Day 2: passed my leak test. Think I may have over done it a bit this am. I walked a couple times went for the test then took a sink bath. I forgot I had the pain pump and hadn’t used it today yet. Until I sat back in bed and realized I had some pain even when not Moving around. I quickly used it and now resting.

My team told me that I should spread those ounces out over 30 minutes, eating small bites putting fork down, chew, chew, swallow and repeat.

This has been an informative, and at times funny, thread. Thanks everyone. I think I am a mind hungry person at heart and have always been a rule pusher. So after reading this I need to plan for how to handle some of that in myself when the time comes!

I told my supervisor at work and yesterday she told me that she had thought I was too self confident to need it and was surprised that I had low self esteem. WTF? I specifically let her know when I told her it was for medical reasons and never said anything about my looks or my self-esteem LOL. I tried to set her straight when we were talking but I'm not sure she got it. In addition I'm also worried that it's going to get around the office and it will be her who starts talking about it.

@ExtracticPris2017. That must have been disappointing! I called my surgeons office today just to be reassured that I hadn't missed anything and everything was still a go. Getting paranoid now I think! Where r you having your surgery? I am at Northwest Medical Center in Margate.

I'm almost directly across from you in Boca Raton area [emoji106].
2 months out! Awesome. How are you feeling at this point?

@sy2053. Can you share the cauliflower grilled cheese recipe? Sounds yummy.
Hope the post op is going well for you. You do sound upbeat!

in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
I am about the norm with everyone which is good to know! My surgery was 10/3 weight that day was 278, my highest was 298, total lost is 78 since surgery 58. Still 46 pounds from goal. I went from a size 24 to a size 16. loss has slowed but my calories have increased and I am able to eat normal kinds of food, except breads, I can’t yet tolerate them. Sometimes I still eat too fast or too much and get sick but that is fewer and fewer. I walk and lift small weights now. All in all I am glad I had the surgery and want to never go back.
