  1. You should talk to a registered dietician before starting a liquid diet. Since you're looking at a year out I'd focus on eating healthier instead of a liquid diet. I've been on mine for about a week and it's barely tolerable, there's no way I could maintain that for a year.

Wasn't thinking about doing it for a year, if i could manage that I think the weight would come off! Haha. I'm thinking about doing the 12 week Optifast program.

  2. You're absolutely right... Its really hard for the 7-14 days we are supposed to do it, it would be impossible for you to start it now, right now you have to focus on eating healthy, changing old bad habits and creating good ones. Your dietician will help you through it. I am on my 2nd day of the pre-op diet and I am working hard to stay focused. Good luck to you...

Yeah I've been thinking about going to a dietitian about it first, I'm thinking about doing Optifast for 12 weeks ish. I'll speak to them about that first.

Had gastric sleeve surgery in June of 2016. Was 389 at the time of surgery. All time high weight was 470 pounds in February of 2015. Now down to 170 and hoping to maintain at this weight. Included some before and after pics. Still have the pants from the before pic and can literally fit my entire body into one pant leg.
