  1. My doctor still has me at only 2 oz or a quarter of a cup per meal. To stay on that I bought those little 2 oz plastic cups at Walmart. And I've been using a scale for some things.
I've only lost 20 pounds in the last 2 months and I also tell myself that's ok because maybe it will prevent the skin from sagging too much, but it is frustrating. And the 2 ounces don't always satisfy me so I have cheated a little but not too much. I'm still limited though in what I'm allowed to eat. No raw vegetables or fruit, except for mushier fruit, until about the 6 month mark. Still not supposed to eat beef and I found out why. I had 2 ounces of hamburger for the past two evenings and my stomach has been upset ever since. I'm mainly eating fish and chicken, some eggs, and cheese because I can't give up the cheese. Most days I'm only getting about 600-700 calories, which includes 300 for my 2 Protein Shakes. I'm wondering if it's slowing my weight loss but that is what they say that I should limit myself to.

At this stage you should NOT get have Protein shakes that much and that often anymore. The calories will just slid thru your sleeve. The reason your doctor is so restrictive is to prevent the most common complication of the sleeve which is leak. Let your stomach heals. You better off eat 3 oz of solid protein 3 x/day and minimal snacking and avoid carbs as much as you can.

  2. I noticed something about myself and I was wondering if others out there were having the same issue. When I'm making myself a plate of food, I'll take a look at 3oz that is on the plate and think, "that is not nearly enough" and add more (yes, I use very small plates). I never can finish it of course but I don't want this to turn into a habit and then over eat. Can anyone offer me any help on how to overcome this?

You buy disposable little plastic containers. I use 2 oz. I will be soon buy 3oz. make your food in advance, pre-pack everything and only eat what you need to.

  3. For those with plantar fasciitis, the foot brace definitely helps. Also can use cold/warm therapy. If it is indeed plantar fasciitis the pain should be worse when waking up. It is also worse when walking in bare feet or sandals. If you want to walk you should use sneakers with good arch support. Although surgeons ask you to avoid NSAIDs this is more of an issue with bypass and not as much with sleeve. Ask your surgeon. I myself developed horrible incision site pain and I used NSAIDs + ppi from day 8-21.

  4. So..is there any low fat deserts out there that gastric bypass patients ate enjoying..i have nothing and had nothing since surgery but craving something..
I've not found any kind of low fat cream..are people having sherbet..pies..etc...

    just a question.
and for my Cnd friends I hope you had a great Thanksgiving..

Have you tried halo top ice cream? If not, try pistachio and chocolate flavors.

I also make my own high Protein popsicles using low fat vanilla ice cream, berries and da vince splenda simple syrup

Cook 2-3 cups the berries in the da Vince Syrup to get the best flavors of the fruit. When assembling the popsicles alternate layers of yogurt and fruit. At the end use a kabob stick to swirl.
    Each popsicle will have
If you prefer icy popsicle dont use the yogurt and each popsicle will have only 10-15 calories.
