    Two glass of red wine

Oh please don't jeopardize your prep with the red wine. My BMI is low, but have had the fatty liver in the past, regardless. If your surgeon gets in and things are "right" he/she won't proceed. It's truly not worth the risk. That said, you are an adult, so make the choice you are comfortable with. I've had to have a lot of surgery. and just feel strongly that the prep is there for a really good reason, besides torment1
  2. I haven't lied, but that said, although weight has been a serious issue for me, I'm older than a lot of you and my issues are co-morbidty following failed medical & surgical plans. So while the weight loss will be way more than welcome, it's not primary. I am still 50 lbs over my "normal" weight, but also down from 240 to 196. I had to get cardiologist, neurologist, gastro approvals as well as GP referral, and because my BMI is on the lower end, we neded up self pay. I don't think it should be hard to have this done, since we all know health is the one thing we really have to have. Yeah, like I said, I'm old! 65.

I am on day 4 as well. Just stay the course. Get that liver ready so you have a great surgical experience.

    Calling all October sleevers!!

I've dropped 10 lbs in 3 days on pre op. Tried going to Mass this am, but had to leave. Major tummy issues. Could be the antibiotic I'm on. Today is last day of that, so hoping to be back to normal. Otherwise doing well. Doing some prep of post op foods, etc. Prayers for us all. Boy are there a lot of food commercials!
  6. I'm on day 3 of the Optifast800 pre op. It's do-able, although not particularly satisfying. Reminding myself that it is not about food, but health. No constipation, but rather the other direction. I do want to be surgery ready come 10/5. Liked the reminder that we have CLEAN water. I have shelter, I am not "starving" just bored, and food is not friendship, but "medicene".

    Calling all October sleevers!!

My preop is Optifast 800. So 1 soup, 1 protein bar and at least 3 shakes, which totals 800 calories. I have the fatty liver infiltration) off and on, since 1987, depending on weight. So truly don't want to end up not getting this done. It's quite a lot less than my 1200 cal diabetic/cardio regamine, but since it's all premade I don't have to think about it. My husband, however, cooking bacon, made it a bit difficult yesterday. Now I know how our puppies feel! Not complaining, but will comment that Nestles makes this, and the chocolate protein bar is not up to their standards.

    Calling all October sleevers!!

I have sleeve on 10/5/17. I am doing the 2 week pre op. Dr Heider uses Optifast. It certainly doesn't require much thought
  9. Saw the surgeon for the first time yesterday; he was very thorough and also straightforward, which I appreciated. My surgery date is set for Thurs ay, 10/5. I have a workshop at 9 this morning and start on the pre op diet today as well. I'm not too anxious about the surgery, as in the scale of surgeries in my life, this one does not sound like a triple by pass or colectomy, lol. Just hoping to do well & use this awesome tool to get metabolic issues under control. HW: 240 SW: 196.4 GW: ?????
