  1. It will all be worth it. This is coming from someone who had a leak in their sleeve and spent 3 months in hospital having multiple surgeries to fix it. Didn't feel so grateful at the time, but now 120+ pounds down and it's the best thing that ever happened. For anyone who has complications in their journey, I think you just have to put your head down and move forward, one foot in front of the other. Well done for getting through it and having a great outlook! I am looking forward to seeing your progress ❤️

I have the same issues with my neck. It's the one thing I want to fix... I don't care about my stomach or boobs, but I do care about my face. It shocks me every time I catch sight of myself. I have no idea how much having this fixed will cost!

    Food Before and After Photos

Nobody else likes waffles in the family... strange people. My daughter won't even eat toast - I swear she does not have one British gene in her! haha

ok... what is a chaffle? Is it vegetarian? Does it taste like a waffle? Do those mini waffle makers work? Should I buy one?

Small NSV this weekend - was able to do up the robe at our hotel. It never used to come close before.

Try cooking with Quorn - you can make spaghetti bolognese or shepherd's pie (just substitute what you want for the carb aspect... veggie noodles for pasta and cauliflower mash for potato). Curry is good - doesn't have to be spicy. Korma's are lovely - try it with reduced fat coconut milk and skip the rice. There are lots of meat substitutes that are good out there... Gardein, boca, quorn, etc. All are pretty good for protein.

  12. @cajunredpanda - I don't know if you have had an experience with ARC, but I have used them when I needed someone to come to my daughter's IEP meetings at school. It looks like they may do medical advocacy too, and from my experience their advocacy is free. Maybe you can give them a call? https://thearc.org/policy-advocacy/health-care/ https://thearc.org/find-a-chapter/
  13. I am so sorry to hear about your latest experience!! I am utterly appalled at this psychologist - she is placing impossible demands on you. You are doing everything right! If you were able to eat perfectly, then you wouldn't be needing the surgery. I don't blame you for breaking down in front of her. Please, please find yourself a different psych to see. She sounds dreadful. Also, can one of your family members or friends go with you to advocate for you next time too? God, I wish I was there... I'd come with you in a heartbeat. I hate that you have been through this.

@AZhiker - I'm so sorry about Tess. I don't blame you for reaching for food, but well done for not letting that over take you. Big hugs for your loss x

Yes, I would love to hear all about your progress. Another thing I remembered... don't compare yourself to anyone else. Each one of us is different - the amount to lose, the way we lose, etc. This is YOUR journey 😊

    February 2019 weight loss buds

I'm doing fine now - thank you. It's been a loooong journey for me and I still have a long way to go - probably another 80 lbs. I have spent the last 6 or 7 weeks bouncing around the same few pounds, which can be SO frustrating, but the one piece of advice I can give you is to not give up. Ever again. If I think back over all the diets I did, the one thing that links them to my failure was giving up on the plan. This has been somewhat easier to stick to because of restriction, but even so, my restriction isn't what it was at the beginning. It's taking more will power now and there are plenty of temptations out there. So, even if the road seems long and tough... stick with it. This is not a quick fix, but a tool to use for the rest of your life.

    GOOOOOAALLLLL

Congratulations!!! Amazing achievement - you really are an inspiration 🎉
  20. I have had the sleeve and the RNY. My sleeve failed - for one I had a leak, so was in hospital for 3 months... they tried to place several stents and think they probably stretched things out. Upper GI confirmed my stomach was stretched. So, I have the RNY now. It is a slow process - apparently weight loss is slower with a revision, but I am happy. I woke up from the sleeve hungry and that hunger did not go away. I woke from RNY and I was not hungry and I still find I have minimal hunger. I still have demons that drive me to want to eat that I am working on, but the restriction I have from RNY helps me a LOT. I hope this helps.

    Tell me something good :)

I've had both. The sleeve didn't work out for me for various reasons, so went to RNY. I didn't do RNY initially because I thought it was so 'final'. It's not... I can still eat foods I like, but for ME the difference between sleeve and RNY is huge. I woke up from my sleeve surgery hungry and it didn't go away. RNY took my hunger away.

    Need encouragement during stall

I have been in a stall for the last 6 weeks... well, gaining and losing the same 3 lbs. I stuck with the program and now the weight is moving again. The advice I would give, based on what I've just gone through, is to just keep doing what you are supposed to be doing. I don't know why we have these stalls, but for some reason my body is now on the move again. Hang in there!
