How long after surgery can you start weight lifting? On average

Sorry for the double post but I just saw your other post about weight lifting, my advice is listen to you're Dr. you will find different times from most of the people on this site. My Dr released me to start working out 2 weeks post op, but he also gave me the instructions that if it starts hurting then stop immediately. He also told me that I can start to lift weights but that I am not supposed to go crazy but lift light weights and increase my reps so I am toning rather than trying to pack on muscle. So that is what I am doing and have been doing for the past 2 weeks and can not wait to see him in 6 days for my one month follow up!
