Tiphaynee got a reaction from NatashaStar in 28 Yr Old | Depression | Anxiety | Emotional Eater - Seeking Buddy!
Hello wonderful people of the interwebs!
I'm currently looking for a buddy who may be able to provide some support, and vice versa. I love communicating with someone who is genuine, honest, blunt, and maybe funny. I've been having some emotional issues while going through the first few weeks since my surgery on September 18th. I am on depression and anxiety meds at the moment and I have been having a hard time with doing liquids the first few weeks, and haven't been on my depression or anxiety meds until I see my PCP on October 5th. I was an emotional eater for a good portion of my life, so being on liquids and liquids only for the last few weeks has been very, very hard... But, it will be worth it. So, I just need to chat... Hopefully someone on here may want to know me! Thank you for reading. You're beautiful.

I had gastric on 9/18/17, and the first few days I seemed to be perfectly fine, and it happened like normal. More Water will definitely be included, thank you so much for the response.

I am really sorry that you're going through this, but I am also so glad that I'm not the only one who is having this happen. I'm hoping it's just my bodies way of being in stock.. I don't know though, it's odd. Thank you for the response.
I will definitely bring this up with my doctor or go to the walk-in clinic to be able to get checked out, since my next appointment is a month away, eek.. Just went in today, but alas, didn't mention it.. Grr. Thank you for the response.

Did you just have surgery? I had a very hard time peeing for about 48 hours after surgery. It happens frequently after anesthesia and I wouldn't be worried unless you're further out. In that case, more Water would be a good route. Good luck!

I don't always pee steadily anymore. Sometimes it's a little at a time, and it takes a few minutes to get it all out, so to say. I've always had a shy bladder, but it has gotten a little worse since surgery. I guess my body is still adjusting to all the shifting around it went through with my RnY bypass?

Anyone having this difficulty should ask his/her family doctor for a test to make sure there isn't a UTI.
Once I lost about 80lbs, I noticed I started having trouble. I seriously think it's to do with the loss of the fatty tissue, so my urethra is flopping around (getting pinched off). Lol! Ok, so that's just a guess and I'll ask my primary doc about it at my next checkup.

Lacecute, stalls happen, and it sucks big time. I will say, though that you aren't eating nearly enough to jumpstart your weightloss. Your body is probably holding on to each morsel you eat, because you are in starvation mode. I had my surgery a week before you, and I eat a lot more than that. You should be eating 800 calories per day at the very least. What you listed totals about 400 calories.
Start following your program. Everything is ok with the exception of the chips of course. Eat something every 2-3 hours. Focus on Protein (more), healthy fats (you've got them), and get some Fiber in. You are going to be malnourished and constipated like crazy if you keep eating like that. You need to actually eat something at this point. Some lean protein and vegetables for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. A Premier Protein shake for 1 of your Snacks if you are still lacking in protein. Have the cashews or some fruit (berries) for another snack. If you are still under, add a small salad to finish off your day.
This is what I ate yesterday.....
Breakfast: 2 egg whites, 1/4 cup of spinach, 1veggie sausage (116 cals, 3g fat, 2g Net Carbs, 16g Protein)
AM Snack: 1 Premier Protein Shake (160 cals, 3g fat, 3g Net Carbs, 30g Protein)
Lunch: kale salad with cubed turkey (195 cals, 15g fat, 1g Net Carbs, 12g Protein)
Early PM Snack: 1 oz. raw almonds (160 cals, 14g fat, 3g Net Carbs, 6g Protein)
Dinner: 3 oz. grilled salmon with 1/4 cup chopped broccoli (185 cals, 11g fat, 1g Net Carbs, 19g Protein)
PM Snack: 2 celery sticks with 2 triangles of laughing cow cheese (85 cals, 3g fat, 1g Net Carbs, 4g Protein)
Macros: 901 calories, 49g fat, 11g Net Carbs, 87g Protein
Oh, and stop stressing also. That causes your body to hold on to fat. Cortisol is increased with stress.

I'm a week post-op today and have only time my immediate family, my late in-laws, and my boyfriend. No one else needs to know, and if they bluntly ask I'll just tell them that I have gotten on track with my life and made a change to be a better me. I don't feel as if I'll have lied to anyone, because that's exactly what I did. (:

Lol no schedule, just kind of happened when it happened. Some people didn't know until the day of surgery when I sent out a mass text to the family. I'm a pretty private person though so telling people has never been a big to-do list in my head.

I got massive bruising and lumps with those injections. I think it is normal, but I'm not a doctor and it's always good to check on these things when in doubt. Hope the swelling goes down soon! The injections suck, but not as much as getting a blood clot. :-)

Personally I wouldn't bring it up at all. I would however start smoking or vaping it as you don't want/can't eat those things after surgery.

Also, I never find it increases my appetite - it just makes everything taste hella good, so if you start eating stuff high, you just don't want to stop.

I don't have any problems with eating now while high. i just don't eat.

Sometimes, support can include "serious negativity". A black and white view of the world is not healthy, and seeing feedback that makes you uncomfortable as solely "negative" might make it harder for you to recognize and implement good advice. I know there is a lot of immaturity and some people may be downright mean but sometimes negativity may be important.
For example, if you post here that you're afraid you ruined your surgery because you ate a whole pizza, you'll likely get some negative feedback. This is because many of us (myself included) are subjected to a litany of idiotic classes by our insurance companies about diet. Moments of weakness are understandable but the answer isn't to baby people, the answer is to light a fire under people's butts to get them to make the necessary changes to make this surgery a success.
