Thinking and praying for you today! Let us know how you are.

Thanks, Bandfan1. Great advice. I just started posting photos of myself so I can click and look. I don't have a lot because I refuse to have them taken. I finally put my scale away. I had it taken away. It will be returned once a week. It is so difficult because I want to know if what I am doing is working. That is kind of funny because my clothes are starting to feel big on me, but because the scale isn't moving I feel like it isn't working. Friday I get to weigh myself. I keep telling myself look how big your clothes are, but I know I will be devastated if that scale is the same!

Hi, hartsdream. I was banded on 3/25 and have close to no restriction. It is really tough. I try to eat high Protein so I eat less. I am assured by so many that after my first fill I will feel restriction and start losing more weight! I got my ticker just by double clicking someone else's ticker. I set up my own account and then copied the code that is created. I then pasted that code in my signature. You can find your signature by clicking on edit profile on the right of the page.

How is everyone from CT doing? My scale has been stuck for over a week. I just want to reach the 260's. I have been enjoying this nice walking weather!

Getting close to my one month anniversary! Wow! I too feel my port. I feel it mostly after walking or work. It still gets sore. I have been in the 270's for what seems like such a long time! I just want to reach the 260's. I start to think what if this doesn't work for me? I finally gave up my scale. It is in hiding and my husband will leave it in my bathroom once a week. It is driving me crazy but I think it is for the best. Dee

PIZZA! I cant wait to have a slice. I am waiting until I am down 50lbs. Right now I am stuck. scale not moving. I had my husband hide the scale because it was driving me crazy. Everytime it gets tough just tune in to the web site. It got me through the first 2wks post op. Dee

Liquid pre op is difficult, but I found I wasn't hungry. Of course, I WANTED TO EAT. It was good to prepare me for after surgery. I delt with some of those issues before and not during recovery. CONGRATULATIONS!

When I get home from work my port is very sore! I am still taking pain pills. I usually need a 1/2 of one before I leave work and then the other 1/2 when I leave. My port is usually sore the next morning as well. I find that my scale isn't moving anymore. I have been on soft foods for @ 2wks, but I do have people commenting on how I look. They don't seem to be able to put their finger on what is different. I asked my husband to hide my scale and just give it to me once a week. I CAN'T TAKE IT! I want to know but it hasn't moved in a week and that was making me crazy!

Post Op Questions
StarbuxQueen replied to outrageous's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyones post op diet is different. I was allowed to have tomato soup. Did you have any problems after you had the shake and pudding? I am sure you didn't hurt yourself but just get back on track tomorrow. you can always contact your dr. and ask him if itis ok to introduce something else. I got a protein drink from gnc called iso pure. it is a liquid like gatorade and it has 40 grams of protein. That helped. -
I haven't heard that before. Maybe someone with more experience can answer that. I have actually read lots of great smootie recipes on this site.

Sassy, I felt like weight loss surgery was my only option. Even with that said a lot went into my decision. I researched gastric bypass and lapband and my husband and I prayed over the decision. I felt a real peace about having the surgery. I did go into the surgery a little ignorant as to how much it was going to require my discipline. All along I read that it is only a tool. My dr. told me, friends told me, the support group told me but I think I still thought it would be easy. It is a tool!!!!!! As an earlier poster said, you can drink calories, eat cake, Cookies and ice cream goes down easy! I really am on an eating plan. I have to choose high Protein, low fat foods. I have to stop eating when I am full and I have to exercise. The good news is I get full and I can stop eating. The more I lose the easier it is to take a walk. I, thankfully, have had no complications. I had gas after surgery but now I am going on 4 weeks post op and down close to 30 lbs. I agree the pre op diet was difficult but I wasn't hungry. I JUST WANTED TO EAT! I realized that as soon as I am done eating I am excited about my next meal. I am grateful I started dealing with that issue before surgery and not after when I was trying to heal and deal with the pain of surgery. I hope that you make an informed decision and good luck to you! -
needs to lose 10lbs by 05-07-08 help!

I lost 5 lbs easily on my pre op diet. I lost close to 15 lbs in 10 days. A lot of people on this site use protein shakes from walmart. My protein shakes have 160 calories and 14 grams of protein. Do you have a herbalife dealer near you? They have good protein shakes and soups. If you follow a liquid diet like so many of us had to you should reach your weight goal without a problem. It is a tough 10 days, but I wasn't hungry. I just wanted to eat!!!! -
GREAT TIP! I will give it a try when I go down my first size.

My pre op diet was opti fast which I got from my dr. It consisted of 4 high protein shakes, and two high protein soups a day. Weight came off easily. Good luck. YOU CAN DO IT! -

Yes, I did. Then I started with the bathroom. I contacted my Dr. and he introduced some fiber. So if it continues call your Dr. You can get through it. It's worth it. -
