    Popcorn?

I realize everyone is different, but are some able to eat popcorn? I really miss it and haven't tried it yet, but it seems like a nice snack since I probably couldn't eat much anyway. Kelli

    Doc Thinks I'm Nuts

I don't think you're nuts. I experience more hunger in the evening, but what I have found over the past couple of weeks is that, I only experience that type of hunger if I eat carbs during the day. If I stick to Protein, I feel content. Kelli

    Anesthesia??

I was frightened of the anesthesia part, also. It turned out that it was the best part of the whole procedure! Like another post said, once they put the mask on, that's all she wrote! I had surgery 20 years ago and did remember it not being quite as comfortable, but maybe they've come a long way. Kelli
  4. I'm not sure the foods are the problem! LOL At 5 weeks I think you're being too liberal in regard to the safey of the band. Kelli
  5. I met a woman at the store the other day who had the bypass and regained almost all of her weight back. As my surgeon told me, maybe we need head transplants! I say that in kindness, though, because I understand. I think you're doing great! You're probably doing better than you think, but even if your not doing what is suggested at least you're losing weight. Kelli
  6. Karen, "Dr. Evil!" LOL That made me laugh outloud!! I have a feeling they will be the same regardless what we weigh!! Thanks for the post! Kelli
  7. I think you're doing great and want you to know that I'm really intimidated by our surgeon. I go to see him next week and have only lost 12 pounds since surgery. I'm sure he is going to be displeased with this. :scared: I'm hoping for my first fill. Kelli

    The Gone for Good Club

Hi all, I haven't lost anything this past week and am seriously considering making a meal plan for myself. Do any of you do this? I am unfilled and my next appt. will be April 18 and until then I want to lose weight as I still have a bit of restriction from surgery. I just feel frustrated with trying to decide what I should eat every day. I thought I was being neurotic in thinking about making a plan, but my husband thinks it will make my life easier. Any suggestions? Is there an April thread or will that be coming tomorrow? Kelli

You know what makes me mad?

Every diet I tried worked...I just didn't keep going with it. I used to love those caffeine pills back when I was younger and they worked for me. I saw this approach as being a bit healthier. Kelli

    Popcorn?

My popcorn experiment went GREAT. I bought the ones Susan is talking about, the snack bags, which I loved. I did drink some Water with mine, but it was enjoyable. Thanks for the suggestion! Kelli

    Can Yogurt Be Frozen?

I've always had this same question! I can't wait to hear how your experiment turns out! Kelli

    Popcorn?

This should be interesting since pre-band I inhaled popcorn! I'm going to take it slow and easy just y'all are saying...wish me luck! Kelli

    discouraged? you can give up....

Keeping on keeping on is crucial to any type of change and I applaud your honesty and diligence! The other part of my post is really none of my business. Kelli

    discouraged? you can give up....

Cash, I believe you're right on. I am not losing and I know for a fact that I'm not following the rules verbatim. Period. I do not have thyroid problems nor Cushings disease as another thread is leading people to believe. These types of problems are somewhat rare and if all be told, are slow losers following the rules and exercising? I mean, it's not a judgment thing, just being honest. Let's be real, I know that if I eat exactly right and exercise to achieve my target heart rate 3 times a week, I will probably lose weight. My doctor gave me the instructions and I have not been following them. Plain and simple. Kelli

    Jeez I feel fantastic!

You are an inspiration! I always enjoy your posts and especially this one. I feel your joy and keep thinking of myself as "willowy." That is a great description. Good for you!!!! :biggrin1: Kelli

    Easy Way Out...

I used to think it was the easy way also...until I was banded. This is definitely not the easy way out and the interesting part, for me anyway, has been that I do not think I was completely mentally ready for it, but I am becoming so each day, a little at a time. I truly believe that a part of me wanted/wants to be heavy to subdue emotions. Letting go of that is a process and it has little to do with food. The easy way out would be sitting here not taking any action whatsoever. I'm not sure if someone who doesn't struggle with their weight can relate to that. Hope it works out for you. Kelli
  19. I hope you feel better and seek help if you need help. I do not believe this is anything anyone other than you can really figure out. Thank goodness we live in an age where you have so many options. I just wanted to add, kindly so, that Lexapro and each anti-depressant works so differently for each individual and because it may stop working in one person does not mean it stops for every person. Taking small steps is important; otherwise, I think we over analyze what is going on and then we become paralyzed. Kelli
  20. I don't have this problem (yet!), but I use Donna Karan which is a bit expensive, but 1 last me 4 months and it smells so good and clean! Kelli
  21. Maybe you do not even have apnea so you won't have to use a CPAP. I use one and they had me come back for a second night to adjust the CPAP; otherwise, the first night they're just testing you without the mask. sleep aids do not interfere with the testing. I took Ambien with the permission of the doctor. No-one likes to have any of this done. I guess if we all did it there would be a line. :biggrin1: I feel so much better with the CPAP. My youngest pug, Bobbi Beans, got a hold of my mask and the day after no CPAP, I was exhausted. I have a new mask now and I am also very claustrophobic. It's worth it. Kelli

    The Gone for Good Club

Dawg, It's amazing what a simple cold can do to you! If you're er...over 30...no offense! Hope you are feeling better and do not give to photonut. Kelli
  23. Where is your surgery, I want to make sure I'm not out there driving! :biggrin1: Seriously, though, I'm sure you'll figure it out. I hope everything is uneventful and you recover well. Kelli

    The Gone for Good Club

Susan, Thanks for the tips. Actually, I have learned a lot from you. I was wrong in one post (I don't remember where it is) and was rude to you. I am sorry about that! I was blindsided by my ego (!) instead of your sincerity! I have learned so much from this place. Welcome to Kristin, Joe, and Maggie! It's nice to have a smaller group to connect with. I am back at work so I better get back to work. LOL I work from home so I have to behave myself. :biggrin1: Kelli

    The Gone for Good Club

I'm not sure why I get so hungry right before bedtime (besides in my head). What time do you eat dinner and then what time do you go to bed? Maybe I have too big of a gap between them. Tonight I just had a few peanuts. That's got to be better than pretzels. Kelli
