  1. It really depends on YOUR PLAN. I have United healthcare Through my employer ( Hospital Employee) and my surgery is 100% covered, and a supervised diet is not needed. every united healthcare plan is different. the best thing you can do is call the back of your card and see what is covered, and what is not. that is how i found out. wish you all the best :455_rosette:

    Same with me 100% covered!

  2. December 2015 I had my first back surgery. I could hardly walk, and was heavily medicated with opioids to get through the day. Surgery was a success, until I had a relaps at the same place not even a year later. Long story short. I had 2 nerve blockages that worked for a while, but in the end, my surgeon said I needed to be operated on again.
We decided to wait and see if the wls would help my back. The pictures below are from March of this year, only 7 days after my wls, and from Saturday.
The herniation has been reduced to almost nothing, the spine covering the nerve is almost nothing, all due to loosing almost 90 lbs.
I see my neurosurgeon on Monday, but both I and my physical therapist are sure I won't be having the surgery I'm booked for on October 3rd.
If that is not a success story, I don't know what is.

This is a success story! I just had a nerve blockage done one month ago and starting to have pain again with pain scale being a 4. Now this is no where nearly what my pain level was before the nerve block. That being said, this really gives me hope so I can’t to have my surgery next month! Thanks for sharing your story!

  3. Hi, first let me say congratulations on your weight loss and sorry your having absorption issues. I have not had my surgery yet but was curious about something and maybe you can help me answer this question. I am 5’6 with my CW at 228 and figured my excess weight loss is 75lbs which should take me to 153. What should be you GW if you do not mind me asking! Thanks

  4. Day 9 - today is about the same. Still tender in that one spot on belly and swollen. Had to do some laundry and needed to change into new clothes! Took some pictures to share.

  5. Hi all, I had my Lapband revision with Gastric Bypass on 9/5/17. Thankful I only had to spend one night in the hospital. Walking good since the day of surgery, and have slowly worked up to walking outside around our block twice a day! [emoji5] I was in a car accident 4 years ago, multiple health issues since, and last 2 years consistently gained wt. I was miserable prior to surgery, felt like you could pop my abdomen with a pin (looked like 9 months pregnant).
I am diabetic, was on Trulicity weekly injection several months prior to surgery, which is the main reason for having the surgery - hopefully help reverse diabetes, get healthy and feel better physically. I'm a disabled nurse now (pediatric/NICU). I know this will/is a journey with ups & downs, and is a "tool" - I have to do my part, but thankful surgery went smoothly and I'm on my way to better health! God bless each of you on your journey!
