  1. Wow! You don’t sound like a slow loser at all! That’s a very good amount of weight to lose in less than a month. How long would it take to lose that without surgery?

I’m only 3 days down but can’t wait to see the difference. How are your clothes feeling? Have you gone down in size yet?

    Sleeved: 2/11/2017

    SW: 209lbs/95kgs

It’s 40 pounds in almost 4 months, not one month. I started dieting on Aug. 15th, and had lost 14 pounds pre-op, and then lost the 26 post op since 9/11/17, for a total of 40 pounds lost. Yes, I have gone down in jeans from a size 16 to a 10. I can get into my size 8s, but still wear my 10 and 12s for comfort. Also have dropped in size in tops from a 2X to a large, which is still comfortable, and not tight at all.:) And is met a nice guy, that I had my first date with tonight and all went great! A real gentleman, and we have lots in common. :)

  2. Hi Laney. I don't know if I have much to offer you, as my surgery was 11/29 but my bariatric RN said to wait till Monday to introduce the chewable vitamins. She said one a day for a couple of days then increase as tolerated. She did say break it up in your Protein Shakes. Maybe that will help? Hope you feel good today. I've been told every day is a little better than the last![emoji322]

Are you taking the melt in your mouth form or the chewable? I’ve taken the chewable since my surgery and I love them! They taste like candy/starbursts to me. Good luck!

  3. Congratulations!! It’s normal for the hair to come out. Mine started at three months out. It grew back thicker which is a good thing. I take all my Vitamins and Biotin too. Some people get lucky and don’t have Hair loss.

When you have a stall, your body is playing catch up. Don’t stress over it. It’s normal too. If you continue to stall try increasing your Protein. I had do this. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your reply! It’s comforting to know that! Do you increase your intake in protein with shakes or just eating things with protein? I did start trying to increase my protein with an extra shake. I felt like I was getting about 64g of protein a day, which is what my Dr suggested.

  4. You mention all this stuff you're taking for your hair, but don't mention your Protein intake vs where it's supposed to be

I usually drink one 30g shake, I’ve been eating a Bariatric 15g protein pancake every morning, and eat a chicken breast every day, and then usually a 15g protein snack. I feel like I’m getting my protein intake each day, but I know I haven’t been getting quite as much Water as I should. I really have to force myself to drink water. I have seen where people say take in lots of protein, so I’m trying to get another shake in and hope that helps. :-/

  5. I’m so scared... my hair had been really growing nicely, and now all of a sudden every time I run my fingers through my hair I have several strands between my fingers, and my brush is full of hair every time I brush my hair. . My hair was looking so pretty and long, and I just don’t want it falling out. I have been using Nioxin Shampoo since before surgery (gastric sleeve and hiatal hernia repair), which was on 9/11/17, and I’ve also been taking Biotin, zinc, B12, and also I take my multi Vitamin twice daily and Calcium, as well as my Iron, omprazole, and also started taking a collagen to help with hair, skin, joints, etc. The collagen is supposed to help hair, but it’s been since I started taking it that I’ve noticed my hair coming loose. Also, I’ve been at a standstill for about two weeks with no weight loss. Please help!

  6. I’ll be a year out on Saturday. I’ve lost 82 lbs so far. I’m proud of myself. I had the Sleeve done.
Feel free to ask any questions

Did you lose your hair? I’m so scared... my hair had been really growing nicely, and now all of a sudden every time I run my fingers through my hair I have several strands between my fingers. 7. Well as of today my friend is still in the hospital, 40 days now. The good news is they have moved her out of ICU, so that is a big improvement!

OMG, is this from your friend having the sleeve surgery? Sure hope she/He is getting better! Sending prayers.

  8. I’m 2 1/2 months out and have lost 38 pounds, but 13 of that I lost prior to surgery. I’m barely losing now, for the last few weeks. I liked when I was seeing the numbers drop almost daily, but know that’s not realistic indefinitely. I just want to get to the 40 pound mark which will make me at my half way mark. My son tells me to up my Water intake, especially because I rarely meet my water intake goal. Do you all count tea, and other fluids as “water intake”? I have a crazy busy work schedule so it’s hard to get in exercise in the evenings, but I do try to walk as much as I can.

  9. What is Hernia? Why does it come?

I had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time as the sleeve, and I also get the pains in my throat and chest, which I think is due to eating too fast, too much, or bigger bites and not chewing up the food like I should. Because I don’t have that problem with My surgery was on 9/11/17. I had been told I had a hernia, severe reflux, and my esphogus was even corroding at the bottom. Have had to cut out all sodas and carbonation.

  10. I noticed about 3 weeks post op that I had a very yellow bruise on the front of my left breast, about 2” from the center of my chest. It caused me concerned because I had not noticed this before. And since it was yellow, that means it was healing, and had had a worse bruise prior to it being yellow. I had not noticed a bruise on my breast, I think because I was so focused on taking care of my incisions daily. I’m wondering if this may have happened when I was in surgery. It did take the yellow bruise a good two weeks to go away, and then tonight I noticed a lump in my breast in the exact spot where the bruise was. This is really scaring me, but wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience??

  11. I am 7 weeks post op and it has been so strange discovering that I can’t eat nearly the amount of foods I used to. Just had a mini vacation visiting family, so trying different foods tore up my stomach on day 3 of vacation! Spent most of the evening back and forth to the bathroom. I’ve also been having a little pain where my pouch is, and a lot of gurgling in my stomach. Not sure if it’s just my stomach getting used to new foods?? I am still getting in my 2 shakes a day, and liquid/water intake. I do still get full real quick, usually with only 1/3 or 1/2 of a small meal.
